This is probably one of the best seafood restaurants I have ever eaten at. The service is phenomenal every time and the food is prepared properly and fresh. I recommend the Mahi with green beans, theyre made to order. With a full bar and $1.95 pints of Bud or BL, its a great place to knock a few back. The owner is there frequently, always attempting to ensure everything is well. The patio accommodates dogs and your waiter will even bring a water bowl and a couple of treats for them. Every time I go more people arrive with well-behaved dogs, and mine enjoy meeting new friends. The past couple times I have been my waitress was Samantha. She is very friendly and has good insight into the dishes they offer. Ive also had the pleasure of meeting more of the staff, over subsequent visits. Ryan and Susan seem to have the same gift of making you feel like family. Truely, if you want fair priced food, great atmosphere, and an overall good experience I would recommend going out of your way to visit this establishment. Next time I make port here, I will without a doubt have a meal and a beer with these fine people.

We used to love coming here, the beers are cheap and the food is good, however, the last 4-5 times weve been here we have had the unfortunate luck and have had Barbara as our server. Talk about inattentive. Every single time I come here and shes my server my order is wrong, not to mention SLOW. Shes never the person who delivers our food and after someone else brings the food out she literally never comes to check on us, and since she always gets my order wrong, I have to get up and find her to correct it. Her response every time "oh, its a new cook. I told him how what you actually wanted." Like..what? I was a server for 8 years, when you screw up, own it, apologize and get it corrected quickly..by quickly I mean actually show up and check on your table BEFORE theyre completely done eating. Anyway, we loved this place but wont be coming back until Barbara is gone. Also Ive been sitting here waiting for a Togo box and my check for 15 minutes plus...thanks Barbara, great service.

The first time I visited the sandbar, the food was good and the experience pleasant. I went in today after the beach, and was served an appetizer, then never helped again. A waitress that was closing out took and served our appetizer, but didnt take our dinner order, saying the waiter would take our order, then pointed to him and walked off. We finished the appetizer, tried to get the guys attention, but he avoided us like the plague. He helped one table and spent the rest of his time socializing with another employee. We waited twenty minutes after we finished the appetizer, finally gave up on ordering a meal, and left money on the table. We couldnt even get a check. Id say the service was bad, but there wasnt any.

Would leave less than one star of I could... Deplorable food... Cheaper than McDonalds; the over priced fish sandwich (that looked like two frozen fish fingers) was served on a cold hot dog bun... My lobster bisque soup was cold and from a can, it has zero lobster chunks or any seafood in it at all. On top of that, the service was pitiful... Our server only served our drinks and stood around talking to the other staff, all the while watching the other server have to bring our food, take it back when it was cold and unsatisfactory, and then expected a gratuitous tip and for us to pay full price for food we could barely eat.... I do not recommend going here.... Local to this area my entire life.

Excellent place to stop after a day at Honeymoon Island State Park or Caledese Island. The wait staff are so nice and accommodating. Were from Metro Atlanta and have been coming here several times a year for the last seven years and have never had anything but a great time. AND they are pet friendly so after taking the pooches for a walk on the pet beach at Honeymoon Island, this is a perfect place to stop for a cold one and a great burger...theyll even bring the pooches a nice bowl if icewater. We call this place "Beer-Burger" because I can never remember Sandbar Grill....I think Beer-Burger fits it better anyway :)

Just had some of the best ribs and chicken Ive had in a very long time. The meat practically fell off the bone and melted in my mouth. The prices are very good, atmosphere is great and the service spot on. This is a great place to have a beer and some great food after spending the day out on Honeymoon Island and want hurt the ol pocketbook. These little diners have some of the best food because they take the time to do it right unlike other places serving prepackaged frozen crap at inflated prices. This will be a regular stop for me when Im over this way.

Really good no nonsense place for hot dogs and a beer. Well actually surprisingly enough all of the food that I have had her is a pretty good, and really cheap. Their chicken Caesar salad is really good, but let me be honest I usually just get a Chicago dog and a side of fries with cheese sauce. You have to get the cheese sauce. And maybe if there is time and or room get an ice cream. Just a really good laid back back gem of a place that has good food, and great prices.

Seafood basket and Grouper Finger basket ... hard to imagine it tasting any worse. The woman taking the order had the personality of a corn flake ... and thats probably not fair to the corn flake. Such a disappointment, great location, right by the beach, just knew it was going to be good ... but dismal.Paying the bill and leaving, I was reminded of a crude saying my Dad used to have, which perfectly fits the Sand Bar " eating there is like ___ up a rope."

An absolute disappointment from the staff, the food, and the clientele. A grill? Hardly. Deep-fried frozen seafood. The waitress "accidently" charged my wife for two drinks instead of the only one she ordered. Make sure you double-check your bill. Seems like a hustle to me. A lot of bikers and other assorted riff-raff. The waitresses look as if they are beyond the age of the strip club and have resorted to another method of getting those dollar bills.

I dont want to say I was disappointed but it was certainly lack lustre...eleven bucks for a basket with some fries and three little pieces of fish, dont get me wrong the fish was actually very tasty, there just wasnt enough for the money. Even though the tarter and coctail was actually great, we were charged extra for the additional sauce but wasnt informed about the extra expense while ordering. All I can say is we learned not to go back.
