My dad has been coming to El Ranchito pretty much since they opened - 20+ years ago by his estimate - and hes always raving about it. Ive been twice this year (most recently on 11/23), and its becoming my must-go place when Im in the area, visiting family. I think the food is excellent, especially at the price-point. Both times, I had the salsa and chips - the salsa is very fresh, and quite spicy. The chips have a good flavor and crispness, and arent over-salted. I got the chicken chimichangas on both visits - they are savory, creamy, and delicious. The sour cream, lettuce, and tomatoes were all fresh, and very, very good. I dont know if they grow their own peppers, tomatoes, and cilantro, but if theyre visiting a local market, Id love to get the name of their source. The tomatoes in particular were quite sweet and flavorful. The BF had the shrimp diablo. He has a high pain threshhold, and hes a spicy-food-snob. He looooved this dish, he said it was very very hot. We also had the guacamole, which was very good. Overall, this place is a great find - relaxed, casual, and very tasty.

Never Go Back. I went with a few co-workers who ordered Mexican food. I opted for the chicken fingers, I know what youre thinking, who orders Chicken Fingers at a Mexican Restaurant? I was very hungry and figured it would be something easy to reheat later in my hotel room. The CFs were RAW! The communication between myself and the server made it impossible to explain. I paid my tab and left.

Nice people good prices & service. Guacamole was awesome. The food was a bit salty but it could have been me I get salted out sometimes. I prefer shredded beef in my burrito but for the price you cant go wrong. They made it the way I like it topped with lettuce and tomato. Salsa needs a little work. Over all I was pleased. Ill try it again. Id add a half star if it was an option.

Friendly staff, run of the mill typical American style Mexican fare. Although the warm flour Tortillas and the veggies with the Brocheta were good Margarita was awful, tastes like sugary wine/malt beverage based mix. Service left was barely adequate, waitress took order, brought food and never checked back until we were done. Large portion sizes however.

I love this place! Nice laid back atmosphere and great food at a very affordable price. Very very fast service you will usually get your order in 10 minutes if that. This is the best legit mexican restaraunt in crystal river. The staff is always very professional and very friendly. The food is absolutely delicious I highly recommend this place.

This was a very cheap feeing Mexican restaurant. The portions were small and if you wanted anything that wasnt exactly described on the menu (for example, if I didnt want beans they wouldnt take off the beans) they wouldnt serve it at all. I also ordered a coke and instead of a coke, I got a Pepsi.

Excellent Mexican food. Im from Orlando and make trips here and this is one of the best Mexican restaurants Ive ever been too. The chicken and steak fajitas are very good and they give you huge portions easily shareable, plus he queso is excellent. I highly recommend this place.

My favorite Mexican Restaurant that I visit pretty frequently. The Chili Rellenos, Green Enchiladas, and Enchiladas Supremas are delicious every time. The queso that can be ordered is very good with the chips and salsa that come with the meal automatically.

Beware when they bring out the food, the plates are HOT!!!. Especially if u have little kids that grab everything. Absolutely love this place. Love the cheese dip better than the salsa n chips. Love the fresh toppings and big portions!!

I eat here often and have never left disappointed other than a very occasional long wait. It is usually very quick and they have quite decent prices for a full plate. Just dont drink the queso, definitely use chips with it.

Good and quick service. The food is the typical Americanized version of Mexican food. It tastes good and its what most of are used to, but not the same version of the food youd get in Mexico.

Ordered chili relleno. Freezer burnt. They offered to bring another (freezer burnt one) I declined. They did not offer to adjust the bill. I am no going back. Their salsa is good however.
