boyfriend and i got coupons in the mail for ten dollars deducted from a meal of twenty or more dollars, and thought wed use them. expecting just a casual lunch. we get there, the restaurant is mostly empty-- there are maybe seven, ten at the most, tables with patrons. despite this (and the fact that most of the people have been served, which would seem to imply server availability) it takes us five+ minutes to be seated-- we have to cross the threshold of the hostess stand, and flag someone down, to get a table. okay, whatever. no big deal. except, we have to ask thrice for water (to be fair and honest, boyfriend is the one who mentions this-- i was in the bathroom while two of these inquiries supposedly took place). i ask if i could please have water with extra lemon, and lime if they have it. server assures me this is no problem. my water arrives, with a lemon slice the size of my pinky nail. okay, if you dont do extra lemon, thats fine, but you could have told me. or just given me the dang lemon, its not exactly worth its weight in gold. im sure the establishment would retain financial solvency if they gave me, like, half a lemon. but whatever, again, no big deal. we order our food-- two burgers, cooked medium. mine is avocado turkey, boyfriends is smokehouse burger; sides are fries for me and loaded mashed potatoes for him. we wait. and wait. and wait. for a quarter of an hour. finally, we figure that though patience is a virtue, there are limits to how long one should be reasonably expected to wordlessly wait for such a simple order in a mostly vacant restaurant. im antsy, my darling is most exasperated. needless to say, this doesnt alter our ability to be polite when asking the waitress the status of our meals. she assures us that she was just checking and the food will be out in a minute; the cook accidentally overcooked them and has been fixing it. okay. well. now im a bit miffed, i was previously giving everyone involved the benefit of the doubt, but jumping jellybeans, lady, do you genuinely expect me to believe youd wait *that* long to check on our order, without, at some point, checking on us, apologizing for the protracted wait, maybe offering us complimentary corn-bread? if you would really wait forty five minutes to check on your (apparently only, and what very much appeared to be one of two tables requiring food) customers order, then i find you an inattentive, inconsiderate waitress. now, i realize that this perhaps couldnt be helped, as our food had been ruined, but the one other table requiring service, who arrived oh, half an hour after us, has gotten their food. that just a minute our food is supposed to be out in, it turns into twenty. so weve waited over an hour. for two *medium* burgers, and simple sides. moment of truth. burgers are... rather bland, especially considering what calorie bombs they are (toppings are fresh, buns are nicely fluffy yet chewy in texture, but otherwise unremarkable). loaded mashed potatoes, again, for containing so many mouth-watering ingredients, are most underwhelming-- i could easily whip us up some thatre much better (and have, to boyfriends delight and proclamation that he never wanted to eat anything else) in five or ten minutes, maximum. i wonder if the cook has yet to discover spices, seasonings. the lack of flavor does, however, make it easier to refrain from consuming more than a few small bites-- we each split our food with the other, for variety, and im entirely devoid of the temptation to continue eating after a single half-forkful of the loaded potatoes, 1/6 of his burger, and 1/4 of mine. despite not having eaten in almost two days, this food is simply unappealing. EXCEPT THE FRIES OHMYGHEEZUSWHEEZINGCHRIST. dem fries is fab--perfect texture, internal and external, seasoning is light but perfectly complimentary to the potato, theyre fresh, warm but not hot, EVERYTHING ABOUT THE FRIES IS TOTES AWESOME!!! go here for the fries.

Came in for a nice late dinner with my family. Only because i received a coupon in the mail since service and food in the past was less than good. The restaurant was fairly empty so we expect good and fast service. The fried pickles as appetizers were OK, half too saturated in oil to be edible. But its an appetizer cant expect much. Ordered the kids mac and cheese , buffalo chicken sandwich, a full rack of . Louis style ribs and an order of soup & Salad. The food took too long to get there. We could see the sandwich and the ribs sitting at their window for at least 10 minutes. The server in the meantime keep passing us and not checking on what we needed. We had to keep flagging him down to give refills. Once we receive the order, the childrens portion is ridiculous. The mac and cheese comes in a tiny Ramekin that not even a toddler would be satisfied. The soup and salad also comes in a tiny Ramekin in a small bowl of room-temperature Caesar salad with very little dressing. Needless to say I did not eat the salad and my ten-year-old was still hungry after his meal. The ribs were extremely overcooked. They tasted like burnt sauce and the toast was cold and Soggy. Not once did we get a chance to tell the server as he never cared to stop and check how our food was. He did notice that the food was still there and brought us a box. Not once did he ask for the manager to speak to us and his words were why did you not tell me sooner? And of course our answer was because you were never around. They offered to take back the ribs and give us a fresh rack. Im not stupid I dont take food back as I dont know what they do to the food especially when they know theyre going to get a bad review. Still paid way too much money for inedible food even with my little coupon. Once again will never go back to this restaurant ever again. I thought Id give it a second chance but this is it. Bad quality food, bad service, uncomfortable ambiance as it was too hot in there and very small portions for the price. Stay away!

This was by far one of the worse restaurant experiences Ive ever had. The experience started pretty regularly; the hostess was beyond pleasant and a welcoming face; our waiter, Joey, approached us promptly and had our drinks and appetizer out at usual time. We ordered two burgers shortly after we finished our appetizer and waited for 40 minutes to receive our food. In that time, our waiter did a good job at keeping our drinks filled but as time continued to click by he came to the table less and less. By the 40 minute mark, Joey finally came back and apologized for the delay. Ultimately knowing restaurants, I asked if there was more than one cook working and he said there was only one and he was very slow. From there, I received my burger, which didnt even have all the marketed toppings and was pretty much cold (obviously it had just been sitting there on the "order up" bar while the other burger was being prepared). Never once did our waiter have a manager come to the table, but why would he? The manager was too busy sitting on his laptop the whole time, at a booth, only rising to refill his cup (a Racetrack cup, might I add). He was periodically calling out cooks to chat, so no wonder our food took so long. Firstly, I feel so horrible for this staff who has a manager who isnt even accessible to vouch for his poor ability to hire a reliable and efficient kitchen staff. Let alone, why would he even rise to maybe help a slower employee when working alone? There were only roughly about 10 tables sat, so there were no excuses of a busy night. May I add, even though I didnt notice this till leaving but a couple who was sat before my boyfriend and I arrived, walked out after us. I cant even imagine how long they waited for their food. If you want an easy meal on a weeknight, do not go here. You will surely be disappointed.
