Not impressed. Came here on the weekend and there were only 2 other people in the restaurant. It was dead quiet with elevator type music playing in the background. We felt like we had to whisper, which was very uncomfortable. Definitely NOT family friendly at all and the womens bathroom was disgusting, which made me wonder what the kitchen looked like. There were dead bugs in the sink. Yuck! Service was not very good either. We sat for quite some time waiting for someone to take our drink order. We finally got a menu and someone eventually came over to fill glasses that were already on the table with water. My husband was going to order tea, but no one asked what we wanted to drink. We had read the Google reviews before coming in and had remembered someone recommending the lunch buffet. However, when we asked for more information about the lunch buffet, we were told that they didnt have any type of buffet. Just the menu. It was $13 for most of the curries. Weve been to A LOT of Indian restaurants and were expecting much larger portion sizes than what we received. It was a teeny tiny bowl of rice and an equally small serving of the curried dishes. There were maybe 4-5 pieces of chicken in the whole thing. It was mostly sauce. We were excited to try out the lunch buffet, but apparently that doesnt exist anymore.. so needless to say, we probably wont be coming back. We will go to Tampa from now on to get our Indian food fix!

This place was FANTASTIC! The atmosphere when you walk in is wonderful! We we greeted and seated promptly. The place was clean and smelled very nice(a little incense was lit). They even brought a lit candle to the table! We ordered 2 speciality drinks, a falooda and mango lassi. They took a little bit to get to our table but thats expected since they take time to make (for those that have previously complained). The falooda is a traditional desert drink made with ice cream, nuts, and noodles. They served chips and chutney on the house! It had 3 different flavors, tamarind/date, mint/cilantro, and ginger/date all of which were beautifully presented before us. Then we had two different types of curry served with a big community bowl of basmati rice. We also ordered a ginger naan. The flavors were unlike anything Ive ever had before. This place is a must on your list! And if you arent into spicy food, they can make it without the spice (although where is the fun in that?!). Please branch out of your comfort zone and give this lovely local gem a try ! ! !

I love Indian food. I first had it years ago and fireworks lit my taste buds. Ever since, I go out to eat it as much as I can. Taj has a lovely dining area, and the food is delicious. If youve never had Indian food, please try naan (bread), chicken tikka masala, and butter chicken. Then work your way to other dishes. If you can handle the heat get bullet naan (bread) it has chiles on it. Indian food is labor intensive marinating meats, creating gravies (sauces), and using fresh herbs and vegetables. A great thing to do on a budget is get different appetizers (I recommend samosas) to split, or try the buffet. Some appetizers are cold, they are meant to be served that way. I would only get the buffet so you can try the different types of dishes, otherwise always order off the menu. Indian food is best when prepared to order. Youll thank me later. If you arent use to heat always get mild or not hot. The desserts are soothing, freshing, and cool, meant to tame the heat and spices. Raita is a cucumber creamy sauce you can get with your meal as well.

Absolutely Amazing Food!!! We have driven buy so many times and tonight we finally decided to try it. Both my husband and I are creatures of habit and usually go to a tried and true place. We both absolutely loved it!!! Quiet and relaxing, nobody trying to turn the table before your finished eating. Our waiter was great and helped us with the menu. Our meals were extremely fresh and hot. The spice level was perfect, not hot, but full of flavor. We had 2 meals, an order of garlic bread and desert for only $42 (before tip). We were both full and left with a box of leftovers. My husband cant stop talking about how good the food was! I miss the Thai place, (down 50 by 19), that closed last year. I have now found a great replacement! You really need to try this place...your only regret will be that you havent tried it sooner.

We were here a couple of months ago and we were the only ones in the place. The service was great, the gentle explained everything. The food was amazing. Tonight we came and and the service was not good. There was a sweet young lady who unfortunately couldnt explain any of the dishes and the same gentleman who waited on us before seemed more occupied with his phone than getting our order. We orded the appetizer from the gentleman and after waiting a long time we asked the young lady to check. A few minutes later the gentleman returned to the table to confirm our appetizer order. Needless to say the appetizer arrived 5 minutes after our meal. The food however amazing.

We occasionally dine here once or twice a month and the food is usually a 7. We went yesterday and things had changed for the worse, Id give it a 3 at best. The womens bathroom was extremely filthy, which makes us wonder how clean the kitchen is. The server was new and was training someone brand new, so staff turnover seems to be an issue. The food tasted like it was cooked two days ago and then reheated. The Tandoori Chicken was soggy instead of crisp and fresh. It was a Friday evening and we were the only customers there. Hate to say it, but it has all the markings of an establishment that will soon be going under.

My family and I were one of the first to visit this restaurant when it went under new ownership some time ago. We all gave it rave reviews and we have eaten INDIAN food all over the world. Weve been back many times since and each time it seems to get worse. We thought wed try it again tonight and it was awful. No flavor, waited for ages for take out even though we ordered 45 minutes ahead. Not sure if they changed chefs or what, but tonight was the last time well be going. Such a shame, however throwing away hard earned $$$ on poor food and service is no point when theres plenty of other choices.

I travel to a major city ever single week so I have tasted a lot of different indian food and buffets and this is easy one of the top indian buffets out there hands down! Taste, selection and flavors have never dissapointed me yet. Its not far from my home and well worth the quick 20 minutes trip. If your considering it for the first time give it a try and you will likely be very happy you did. Friendly and attentive staff too! Lunch Buffet is only from 11:30AM to 2:30PM...dont get here at 230 expecting the buffet or you will miss out.
