My boyfriend and I stopped in here hoping for something amazing. It was around 2pm on a Sunday. The service was decent, but the tables were cramped together. When our waiter was speaking to the next table over, he was leaning his arm on our table. He was thrilled to find a bison burger wrapped in bacon, and I ordered the elk burger for something different. The food came fairly quickly, and was a good-sized portion, but there was a large amount of bun for the meat patties. I loved the mustard seasoning in my burger, but the fries were pretty thin and bland in my opinion. All in all, for $12-$16 a burger, Id rather go to Five Guys and get something I know will be good at a much more reasonable price.

The restaurant had everything going for it except the service. To begin, our glasses were dirty. That didnt bother us too much. Then our one course meal took an hour and a half, and when we questioned it the server said, "It hasnt been that long." There was no sight of her for the rest of the meal either. She brought our check without asking if the couples wanted separate checks and then disappeared with our cards for about fifteen minutes (after making us write down what we each had to separate the checks ourselves). All in all, the place has potential. They just need to work on their expectations for their servers.

Visited Thunder Burger after a particularly gruelling DC bus tour and was extremely pleased with not only the level of service we received at such a late hour (it was after 11pm when we arrived) but the food was excellent. We started out with chili fries which I was never a fan of until now because of Thunder. What surprised me the most about Thunder was that the portions we perfect; not so much food that youre left feeling uncomfortably full and not too little that dessert feels more like a necessity than an option. Get atmosphere, stellar business hours and a very chic punk décor.

Food and service were excellent. We split a burger and the Thunder Salad. Portions were ample and price was right. A few dollars more than the standard burger place, but here you definitely get what you pay for. The burger and fries was truly amazing. Not just the standard burger you can get anywhere. Henry, our waiter, was very friendly and knowledgeable about their vast variety of draft beers. Better yet, he was even willing to provide honest menu suggestions. Atmosphere is funky and modern. Will be back again!

Only chose one star because there was no option for zero stars. The food was good but we had to basically beg for service in a bar that had just as many servers as patrons. We watched in utter disgust as the slowest laziest wait rest got to have long conversations with Co workers and clients waited. We soon figured out why when we noticed the manager and her flirting all night. We are at the bar as we write this and are debating leaving without paying. Service is so horrible I dont think they will notice

I had the crab cake entree. My wife had the salmon entree. The food portion was bigger than I thought it would be (not saying that as a bad thing). My only complaint was my craw fish & crab dip was not hot. It was luck warm. However, it was very delicious (I hate sending things back to the kitchen. If I do I wont get anything else). Our waitress was amazing & funny. We did not feel overwhelmed nor underwhelmed by her presence. I will definitely visit again when Im in Georgetown...

The decor is neat. The image is great. The food is priced normally for a restaurant, but for a restaurant price, you do not get a restaurant portion. When I splurge and eat out, I expect to be full. I paid $12 for two tiny nutella crepes (the waiter said Id get three. Hmm...) and a few pieces of overripe fruit. Not worth it. The crepes were good. Not great, but expected. Its kind of hard to mess up crepes, though.

Visited yesterday and it was kind of busy when we got there.. The hostess placed us at the bar and forgot all about us. Luckily the bartender saved the situation.. I had the kobe burger which was really good - not worth the extra 10 dollars, but thats just the story of kobe isnt it.. My wife had the ribs and claims that it was the best ribs shed ever had. And sheve had a lot, belive me.. Highly reccomendable!!

This review is coming from someone who isnt the biggest fan of the Georgetown "scene" -- so with that said, review time. There are few bars/restaurants Id like to go to while down there, and thank God I found this one. Right on M street, Thunder Burger has some delicious burgers that are totally customizable. They also have a great beer list, go here when in Georgetown, or just craving a great burger.

Hamburguesas de carnes "exóticas", jabalí, bufalo, alce, entre otros. Y cervezas artesanales, todo en un lugar muy cómodo para comer y barra por si solo quieres un trago.

We love the atmosphere of this place. The vintage charm really shone through. The service may have been a little slow but during a busy lunch time service that is to be expected. Had the signature Thunder Burger and thought it was fantastic. but the side salad was nothing spectacular. Overall we had a great time and left the restaurant happy and full.

Id wanted to try this place for quite some time now and finally made it. I cant recall the burger that I ordered, but it was cooked properly and wasnt soggy on my plate. It is a tad bit expensive, but youre in Georgetown... Whatd you expect? I sat at the bar and enjoyed a good conversation with Bernard (the bartender). Id for sure go back.

I had the pleasure of standing in line for an hour under the blazing hot sun this weekend to get a taste of Thunder Burgers offerings. I was not disappointed! The chili was amazing with strips of tender steak, onions, celery and choice of toppings. Just enought heat to remind you that real chili should leave a lingering impression.

Service was quick, almost too quick. Gave us the check before we even asked. Burger was tasty, but not for the price. French fries were old cold. The soap in the Bathroom was CVS brand soap, youd think for $15 $20 burgers they could afford something nicer... Over all it was just OK. Think someone paid off Zaget for the rating.

Have been here a couple of times and liked it. Its priced for the Georgetown area, but a good lunch spot on a day out. The Showdown at the Border burger is a good one to try. The burgers Ive had there have always been cooked the way that I want them and I havent had problems with wait times, whether Ive eaten in or taken out.

We paid a visit here after I perused the offerings for DC Restaurant Week. The service and decor were great, everything was very clean. Most of us got the three-course Restaurant Week deal; I opted for the Thunder Burger with bacon, Swiss, and tomato. Everyone liked their food. Only negative? A bit overpriced.

Interesting beer bar in Georgetown. We stopped in for a mid afternoon cocktail and they do offer happy hour. I think its a German bar as the staff seemed to be speaking German so youd expect the beer to be good. There is really nice cosy restaurant at the back as well which Ill check out next time Im in DC.
