So before we were even seated, I was absolutely smitten with the decor of the place. It was so modern chic with the wait staff in their white blazers. The place had a really relaxed vibe; definitely a place to take a date. So appetizers: We had the octopus, tuna crostini & prime beef meatballs. Delicious! The meatballs were nice and soft. We literally were scrapping our plates when it came to the grilled octopus. For our main course, we had the papperdelle tagadelle & the truffle risotto. The tagadelle was good but the risotto was definitely a standout. I literally was all my friends risotto. Truffle risotto was so truffely (dont judge me). Literally the more you eat the more you can taste the flavors of the truffle. For dessert, we had the pistachio gelato and the salt caramel chocolate pudding. They were pretty good as well. I literally have nothing bad to say about this restaurant. The service was impeccable. Me just being me and taking it all in, I noticed how serious this restaurant takes customer service. The managers literally had earpieces to communicate on the floor which I was very impressed by. Anytime I hit DC this will be a place that I patronize. If there is anything to take away from this review will be to get the grilled octopus & truffle risotto!!

When asked to describe our experience at RPM in one word, the word of choice is surprise. As fans of Giuliana and Bill Rancic it was a must try on my list, although I am not an Italian food lover. When we arrrived we were greeted by friendly and attentive host. I love the layout and decor of the restaurant. It definitely has a modern, sleek, romantic atmosphere. Alexandria our server was very personable and patient with us, seeing it took us awhile to decide on what we wanted to eat. Not being lovers of the cuisine nothing was jumping out to us and screaming delicious. I decided to go out of my box and order the prosciutto tortelloni and it was to die for. All of our meals ended up being umm, umm, good. When you go start with the calamari and garlic bread, get the Tortelloni for your entree and top it off with the cheesecake. Alenxadria suggested great choices and didnt stir us wrong. I like that she was honest and helpful and didnt make it seem as if everything was her favorite. I will be back and will be sure to bring all my italian lover with me. #fallynsfoodieexcursions #rpm #rpmdc #livelaughloveeat

Forget the reality TV schtick, RPM is a top tier steakhouse that decided to be an Italian restaurant. So, the food here is good, very good. It is pricey, but worth a special occasion. The service is exemplary, some of the best Ive had. The fried zucchini app is phenomenal. They slice the zucchini like potato chips then tempura batter them. Yum. Everything else was spot on in preparation and flavors. They also put out a menu with Italian food that people recognize. So many "modern Italian" joints have you Google-ing most of the menu so you know what youre ordering. RPM has a handful of lesser known dishes, but stays firmly rooted in the familiar classics. The only dings are that its not the most affordable place, but the experience is worth the price. Also, the music can get a bit loud. We asked to move from our initial table when we first sat down, but the staff took care of us immediately and without question.

Absolutely amazing find!! My mom and I happened past the restaurant Thursday morning and saw the chefs making fresh pasta and commented how we should go back for dinner - Im so glad we did! The entire vibe is really cool; this would make a lovely date night spot or dinner with the girls. We had the pleasure of having Grace as our server who was not only well versed in the menu but such fun right from the start with a wicked sense of humor. My mother had the special which had clams and I had the prosciutto tortelloni and I can say it was hard not to lick the plates! Grace enticed us with the entire dessert menu but we settled on the hazelnut tartufo and let me stress, THIS DESSERT WAS INCREDIBLE!!!! Our sincerest and delighted compliments to the chefs and I look forward to coming back again!

I rarely leave reviews, but I woke up this morning still dreaming of the heavenly food that I experienced last night. The blend of flavors, food preparation, and presentation were impeccable and the family style dining allowed our small group to experience many of their amazing dishes. We had their white cheese pizzette with zucchini slivers on top (evening special), Mama DiPandis Pomodoro, and Pappardelle Bolognese. One dish for each of us leaving room for dessert. The dessert literally took the cake. We shared the Torta Meringata, a flambeed salted caramel and vanilla gelato cake with chocolate poured on top. Or waiter was attentive (but not overbearing) and very knowledgeable, definitely adding to our positive experience. Thank you RPM for a wonderful dining experience!

This restaurant was on my have to go to list, so I was excited to finally go. The ambiance and the decor would definitely get an A+ in my book. They had tons of people working and we were trying to figure out the specific jobs of everyone who worked there. There were men who looked like they were a part of the secret service (they even wore ear pieces like them), then waiters/waitresses, and more. The meatballs and garlic bread were good. The entrees were nothing to brag about at all. They had no flavor at all. We decided to get the most expensive dessert, The Torta Meringata at $22 because we were so disappointed by the food. They bring the dessert to the table and set it on fire like a Baked Alaska. All it is, is an ice cream cake. It was good but not worth $22.

Great food, great service, and great environment. We brought our 1.5 year old with us which was a bad idea because this is a mostly adult environment, but we made the most of it. The staff was extremely welcoming towards our daughter despite the obvious awkwardness, and the manager even brougut her a complementary dessert. Never caught the managers name, but he is amazing with children. Watched the couple next to us get the flaming cake which is pretty impressive (almost made me cheat on my diet). Spent about $150 for dinner and wine. Couldve easily spent $200+ and it still wouldve been worth it.

We got an open table reservation at 6 pm just one hour before they opened. They have a lot of seating in doors, but we wanted outdoors and were the first out there. Very shortly the outdoor tables completely filled. We barely got under the wire for happy hour. The salami plate and mozzarella were good. Be warned there is traffic noise outside at 6 pm but this was better than the load music inside. Our entrees were fine but our waiter was very late bringing out our Barbara d`asti. Very good flaming dessert at table side. They are a member of lettuce entertain you loyalty points.

I will leave two stars as the service from menu to food was quick. I was here with my gf and a close friend for dinner. The service was satisfactory but needs tremendous improvement. The appetizers were fantastic and we were excited for the main course. Unfortunately, the pasta was undercooked on all three of our plates and our coffee tasted slightly burnt. I feel it was just an off night and may try this place again in the future. Washington holds many great restaurants and I hope RPM improves the full experience to bring them to the top of the list.
