My experience at NoPa Kitchen + Bar was fantastic! One or our clients hosted a dinner part in a private room which was quiet and closed off from the rest of the restaurant. When I arrived they offered a glass of red or white wine and would come around and refill if you were running low. The menu was a three course meal with your option from 3 different appetizers, entrees and desserts. For the appetizer I went with the Curried Sugar Pumpkin Soup and it was amazing. They brought the bowl with the croutons in the bottom then poured the soup over top. It was delicious and had a slight spicy kick to it! For my Main Course I went with the Beef Coulotte Steak "Frites". I ordered med rare and it came out perfectly. It was the perfect amount of food too. Not too much not too little. Finally, for dessert I ordered the Butterscotch Pot de Creme. It was kind of like a butterscotch pudding or creme brulee without the caramelized sugar on top. It was absolutely delightful. The service was great - the servers were there just enough and everyones orders came out correct and at the same time. There were about 20 of us and we were able to sit comfortably but the servers had a bit of difficulty squeezing by certain areas. If youre looking to host an elegant dinner part I would definitely recommend NoPa Kitchen + Bar. If not, you should still go for the food! The rest of the menu looks amazing and Ill definitely be going back to try some other dishes!

Pretty good food, but atmosphere feels sterile. I dined here last night using a Living Social deal for a 3-course summer tomato menu for two. The restaurant was very big and open, so it lacked an intimate feeling. We were also seated at a table right next to the waiters service station, so we had waiters walking by our table the whole time. I loved the bread basket - it was full of fresh, buttery popovers that were delicious. My boyfriend and I shared lamb gnocchi and a corn and tomato succotash for our first course. Both dishes were excellent. For my entree, I ordered a trout with roasted tomatoes and yogurt sauce. Sadly the four (small) roasted tomatoes were the best part of the dish, as the yogurt sauce was very bland and the trout was a bit overcooked. For dessert we ordered the two options available - beignets with tomato jam and goat milk ice cream, and some kind of tomato sorbet over fresh fruit. The beignets were delicious, but I wasnt a huge fan of the sorbet. With so many good restaurant options in DC, I probably would not dine here again. Id prefer someplace with a more intimate or cozy atmosphere.

My friend and I liked this restaurant so much, we wanted to visit again before we left DC but just never got the opportunity. It was virtually next door to our hotel, the Monaco. We arrived at a busy time and opted for the bar area so we wouldnt have to wait for a table. There are some really teeny high tables but we found a bigger one intended for at least four people. I cant remember our servers name and it isnt posted on the receipt because it was the bar section but he was just awesome. Excellent service, suggestions, and really fun to talk to. THE BREAD!! I think me and Diane would make a special trip here just to have the bread, no kidding. Think popovers. Rosemary. Warm and squishy. Pull-apart, perfect pieces because the loaves have been perforated before being baked somehow... I ordered the steak frites with fingerling(sp?) potatoes. Delicious! Well seasoned and topped with lots of sprouts. We shared the toffee bread pudding, so good. Topped with white chocolate like Dippin Dots but there wasnt enough sauce so we asked for more. Back to yummy!!

Unforgettable! I ordered the short rib all three times Ive been here. Its succulent and soft and comes with a potato/carrot vegetable and some whipped parsnips. Its impeccable. I am an EXTREMELY picky eater and "American" food is not my first choice ever but this place has knocked my socks off. Their wine selection is extensive and superb. The Oregon Pinot noir is my favorite. They have a good dessert menu and I love their pecan cookie. I had the baby kale salad and it was really good. Our server Juan G. was so attentive and seemed to really enjoy his job! One of the managers Mike had failed to mention on Valentines Day that they had a specific menu so when we rescheduled our reservation he gave us our first round of drinks for the inconvenience. It was no inconvenience for us but he made a point to make us feel appreciated!! Great place for a fancy date night that is fairly priced. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!

Came here for a birthday celebration. The service was exemplary. From the host/manager to the wait staff...everyone was attentive, polite and professional. They took care of everything including cutting the cake and serving it in individual plates with a garnish (strawberries). Even when the wait staff mixed up one of the drink orders, they wrote it off and got the correct drink within mins. The rolls to begin with are awesome...almost like parker rolls but pre-sliced and baked with rosemary and butter. Very tasty. We got the cheese plate and they gave us extra bread for that since we were a big group. The spicy pork meatballs were juicy and served on a risotto that was awesome. Steak and prawn dishes were done perfectly. The prawn dish had clams, octopus and soft shell crab in it. So it was more than just large prawns. We didnt get dessert since we had birthday cake but I heard good things about it.

My wife took me here after some sub-pas Asian food at Asia 54 near Dupont Circle. We ventured down to Penn Quarter to try their claimed "best dessert in DC." First of all, the location is great! Penn Quarter makes you feel like you live in a real city among the powerful and rich. The inside of Napo is very classy and has great bar seating! We cannot attest to the dinner, but we can speak to the dessert. We order the coconut chocolate bar. The description made it not seem that good, but once we tried it, we both loved it! My wife thinks it lives up to its name: "best dessert in DC." Try it for yourself and let me know what you think!

I went to dinner here for the first time with my Partner and his mother and father. The food was amazing, the service wonderful (Thanks Stephani!) and the decor was rich with a smell of new leather. I had the pork chop, which was succulent, and it was mixed with spiced pear and some kale. It was magnificent. Also worth noting was the fried strawberry pie. It will blow your mind! This is definitely a great place for a quiet dinner with friends and family. Good food, good ambiance, and great service. A definite recommend.

How this place turned into a Caps pre-game bar is beyond me, but it seems to work. A great bar with superb happy hour drink specials, you can meet friends before a Verizon Center event and not wade through spilled beer and Costco chicken wings. The restaurant itself is perfectly fine, but not quite worth the prices they charge. A supreme location in the heart of Chinatown, stop in here for a drink before you go to one of the nicer places in the neighborhood.
