DO NOT come here! I had the WORST experience at Dulcineas and will never go back. I come in every week and patronize this restaurant. However, this Tuesday, I went in to purchase a quesadilla. I asked for their happy hour quesadilla, but with veggies instead of chicken. The cashier looked at me and said "No!" I was confused because 1) he was so rude and 2) theyve allowed me to get it this way before. Then, I asked for just cheese and he said no again. Since he was so rude, I asked if I could speak to the manager and he said, "I am the manager and the owner is not here." He said all I can do for you is put bell peppers and onions. I said, "sir those are vegetables." lol He said, "well I cant give you mushrooms and stuff." I didnt even ask for mushrooms, but just a simple meatless quesadilla since I am pescatarian. The cashier was so rude and you can tell he has a distaste for the black patrons that come in. Theres a racist undertone and the customer service is poor. Also, the food isnt high quality enough to act as though they cant do simple fixes for their customers. My friends joked about them losing such a frequent and loyal customer. But with that attitude from the manager, I dont suggest anyone go there.

Ordered from Dulcinea on Postmates while visiting DC (from Seattle). LOVED everything we ordered. I ordered the shrimp tacos, which came with 3 super stuffed tacos with tons of shrimp and yummy veggies, fresh cilantro, lime, etc. SO good and a great value at $8. We also got a veggie burrito, stuffed with grilled veggies, guacamole, rice, beans and cheese and came with chips. We ordered a cheese quesedilla for my son which was huge and also came with chips. Our total order was $28 for a ton of really delicious food. Was also loved the smokey salsa. If we were local, we would definitely visit again.

Terrible. I bought a Groupon to eat at Dulcinea before going to a show at the Howard Theatre in Shaw. We arrived at 6:45 pm on a Monday night, only to find the door locked and the "Closed" Sign in the window. The staff refused to open. I called and someone answered. I asked why they were closed and they said "it was a slow night." I asked how they can know by 6:45 pm if it is going to be slow, when most people dont even eat that early. No answer. The next day I called and asked to talk to the manager. He was out. No surprise. This place is a total dinner disaster.

Usually (never) write reviews of places but after eating an amazing chimichanga al pastor, drinking a refreshing marg, eating some guac, and practicing up on my Spanish with the friendly/helpful waiter I decided Dulcinea deserved a review. Overall great experience with my lady, food was great and Im looking forward to coming back to this neighborhood spot often

Moved to DC from California, and this place finally satisfied my craving for great Mexican food. If anybody ever asks me, I recommend this place for authentic Mexican. Only knock I used to have was the salsa not being spicy enough, but they switched it up and now its perfect! Never too crowded, nice friendly service, and a great range of choices.

Husband took me here and I wasnt sure it would compare the other awesome Mexican spots I know... but... it did... and then some! Food is delicious, generous portions, great service, and the whole place is as authentic as it gets (Mexican coke out of the bottle, futbol on TV, sombreros on the wall) -- I will be back and highly recommend.

Very consistent with delicious and fresh entrees. Nachos are excellent, they dont skimp on toppings. And margaritas were pretty good also. Im definitely going to be a regular here.

Rice bowl was delicious. Tacos were okay. Margaritas were pretty tasty. I did not like the fact that the restaurant closed 3mins than what was posted online which limited our stay.
