This is one of the best secrets in Dupont! The food here is really fantastic. Go for lunch and get the A1 lunch special, it comes with a kabob of your choice (I always get the chicken. It is so juicy, tender, and packed with flavor), salad, a scoop of rice, and a topping (the spinach or lamb curry is fabulous). Every meal also comes with amazing bread which is a mix between naan and pita. I highly recommend asking for some of the white yogurt sauce to go with your meal- it is very garlicy and delicious. The best part about this establishment is the friendly guys who work behind the counter. They give you a free cup of Afghani chicken soup while you wait for your food, and they are very nice!

$15 for "platter" of 8 pieces of chicken (undercooked), small naan, plain rice, with side of the worst cooked spinach Ive ever had . However the worst part was actually the strange vibes from the workers, group of them were just loitering outside, eating the food, not washing hands when entering the kitchen, and then the weirdest one who would not stop talking to my mom in a loud volume, also called many of the dishes "spoiled" to dissuade us from ordering them. The rice was not even afghani style just plain white and they dont have any chai!! Basically a total fail!!! Also, we ordered two plates but they brought us three then made us pay for it all. Not worth $50!

Im a big fan of delicious, unpretentious but fairly priced food. This place hit all the marks. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon it while wandering around Dupont. I got the gyro sandwich ($7). The meat was spiced and cooked perfectly. It also comes with a good dollop of tzatziki all wrapped up in a delicious afghan style bread. The yogurt spinach dip that comes on the side was so good that I took some home for later use. Highly recommend.

It used to be good place but now its total trash. After a long time, I went there today with my colleagues for lunch, they were offering pita bread instead of real Afghan naan. Restaurant was smelly, bathroom room stinks. Dont know why they are still open? where is the FDA? They are running very dirty business in the heart of DC. I would encourage you to not waste your money at this place. BTW, the manager is rude and incompetent.

Came from SC for a long weekend. After an 8 hour trip we stopped in here for dinner. The staff was super friendly and sociable. Everyone who came in the door was greeted and made to feel welcome. The walls are decorated with beautiful and interesting photographs of Afghanistan. The food was super fresh and delicious. Very authentic, and definitely homemade naan enjoyed by all. Couldnt be more pleased with stopping here.

Great kebabs, expertly grilled. Very friendly staff and cool afghani decor. If youve not yet had afghan, youre in for a treat (chatni sauce is great). Lots of options for kebabs but Im partial to the lamb chunks. TV generally runs what looks like afghani musicals. Everything made to order. Food takes about 10 minutes. No outside eating.

Im so sorry that I cant give this place a better rating as the people who work there were so sweet and lovely. Good thing first; the rice and the okra was good. In general though, veggies were over cooked (soggy) and the meat too which made it hard, grainy and a dentists business opportunity. Unfortunately, I wont go back.

Absolutely FANTASTIC food and utterly delightful service. There were 4 of us and we all ordered different items, all of which were superb. We highly recommend this place after seeing the equally fantastic Phillips Collection Museum, which is only about a block away.

The food was just fantastic. The chicken kabob was way beond expectations.. we ordered lamb kabob, chicken kabob, and shawama and all were delicious. The only point we didnt like was the restroom .. there was no hand soap.. but this can hapoen in other restaurants

Food is relatively good but the hygiene is the worst probably in the D.C. I went to restroom before eating the meal and it was disgusting!!! Could not believe there is such a place in D.C. They apparently get used to the hygiene standards as it is in Kabul!

By far the best afghan cuisine in DC & surroundings. The kababs are very tender & delicious & the vegetarian dishes are amazing. A must place to visit if you want to eat tasty fresh food served to you in good time & a reasonable price,,,

Terrible restaurant. Food is ok, but the guy who took our order blamed my friend for not writing down his order. Restaurant smells bad and they played the same song the whole time we were there. Dont waste your time or money.

This is hands down the best kabob in the DC area (and we have a lot here). I dont know how they do it but the meat is absolutely perfect, the bread is amazing, and there are so many incredible vegetarian and vegan options.

The 5 star is for the quality of food relative to the price. If Im looking for quick Afghan food at a good price then I would recommend this place over any other Ive had (other than Maiwaind Kabob on Route 198).

Was disappointed about the small portions. $15 for 5 chicken pieces with a side of rice, salad, and one other side. Taste wasnt bad, but not great either. Was honestly hoping for more. Nice folks though.

We tried chicken, lamb, and beef kabobs--all were good. Sides were good. Flat bread was good. Friendly workers. Cafe-style casual atmosphere, with 1980s-era quirky Afghanistan-related posters on walls.

The food is awesome, the guy behind the counter was great, even gave us free samples of soup while we waited. Get the sweet pumpkin as your side. Eat here every day if youre lucky enough to be close.

The rating is for the quality of food. The chicken, lamb and beef with long white rice were delicious (super jumbo dish). When I was there the restaurant was well ventilated with no smell issues.

Very friendly owner, who is only 21 years old. Foods are marinated and well barbecued in front of you. The lamb is juicy and crispy. Id rather have this than another hamburger!

The Kabob House has some of the *best* Afghan food in town. Its definitely one of the top 10 lunch spots in Dupont Circle, and it gets wayyy less foot traffic than it should.

Hole in the wall but amazing kebabs. Met the owner who owns multiple locations but operates the place like youre a guest in his home. My only wish is that he moved to NY

The lamb chops are the best you can find. Worth a trek every now and then for lunch. One of the go-to places for workers looking for a great bus to eat and conversation.

The best place in DuPont! Tony is incredible and just wants you to experience the flavor of afghani food--the least pretentious and most authentic place to eat around

The interior design could definitely improve a bit. Its pretty antiquated and not that inviting, but the food portion is generous and the lamb kabon is very delicious

Just dont come here at food corner kabob house on P street NW DC. They are awful. The food is not tasty and the front disk guy is rude and horrible to talk to.

If you like home style food look no further. Lamb Kabob was done just fine. Havent had anything like it in a long time. Lots of cultural art there too. Enjoy!
