Excellent variety of delicious smørrebrød. Heartened to be able to buy whole and half loaves of rye bread, which I did and throughly enjoyed at home. Smoked eel salad was good, although not quite the superstar I was expecting. Lemon cake was perfectly balanced between sweet and tart. At food-centric halls, many times the coffee is an after thought and uncaringly produced. Not so here. The cortado was as good as the Joe or Grumpy outposts in the terminal. Superb Nordic-tonic is smaller than cocktails at other GCT restaurants/bars but innovative and well executed. Delighted to see gratuity is included, a positive step for staff. And the service? Pleasant, helpful and attentive. How refreshing.

This review is only for the coffee shop. I havent had my coffe yet but my first impression is that they need to change the system. They use a restaurant traditional ticket system for the coffee which creates inefficiencies. The barista doesnt see the tickets in a timely manner which doesnt let her get ahead on any orders. In other words It took longer than it shouldve for the coffee. When it arrived I tried it and unfortunately they use a floral coffee which is unfortunately becoming in style right now. I threw out my cappuccino. Im not saying it was bad. I just personally dont like that type of blend of coffee.

Running for a train and so hungry - I went to Danish Dogs. I couldnt get attendants attention so went to the self help kiosk next door. Shocking prices! The prepared salads and sandwiches look like Pret a Manger food but $10 for a sandwich and $11-14 for a salad? In a hurry so grabbed a salad. There was no one in there to pay so went back to Danish dogs to pay. Made the train and found I have a fork but no napkin. Really? And my lettuce is mostly comprised of the butt or heel of the lettuce. What a crying shame. Never going that again.

Good concept but a lacklustre and a little pricey. This seems more like a Swedish food display at World Expo and it quite appealing. The decor really does exude that Nordic feel. The concept is several separate food outlets in the northern hall of Grand Central, each offering a different type of food. Each has flavours from Sweden, Denmark and Norway. We tried a few different options and also sat at the bar drinking Danish sparkling. Whilst I like the look and feel nothing really tasted good.

The Grain Bar...I tried the poached egg and cheddar porridge..something in it was rancid and stale..I think it was the brown bread croutons sprinkled on top. I told the person who served me and he was dismissive..saying that they make the croutons every 2 days. I have an excellent sense of taste, and I know it was rancid. For over $10 a bowl I would at least expect fresh food...and what happened to "the customer is always right"?

Used to be my favorite place to buy lunch...quality has gone down drastically...just had a falafal sandwich the lentils were hard like rocks felt like eating a sandwich filled with pebbles...The Frosnapper used to be an absolute delight flakey and delicious..now it tastes like a rubbery mess.. Before was happy to pay the premium because the food was delcious but now given the reduction in quality complete waste of money..

A great option if youre commuting in and out of Grand Central! There are a variety of options, from quick to-go pastries and coffee, to flatbread pizza slices, to sandwiches, to porridge bowls. Theres also a bar. Although it seems a little pricey, its no more expensive than the other options within Grand Central, but the quality is far superior. Try the kanelsnurr, which is a their version of a cinnamon roll - delicious!

This is a pleasant alternative to the often crowded and noisy food area in the lower level of Grand Central terminal. Because it is new, and there are fewer choices in this food Hall and because some of the seating is tables for people who are ordering off a menu, the place is rarely crowded. My favorite is the open-faced Rye sandwiches called smorrebrod made with actual rye bread. Lots of different toppings.

I sometimes miss my train on purpose so I can sit around in Great Northern Food Hall. There are a lot of choices for food plus you can get some great cocktails/wine. The food tastes fresh and not overpriced for the quality of ingredients and for where its located. Oh yeah, cant forget about the coffee and you should read up on what Claus Meyer is doing for the city. Great mission that Im happy to support.

Meyers Bageri is located at the Great Northern Food Hall aka Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central, access from within the main floor of the terminal or from 42nd Street. If you go early enough in the mornings, you may be able to sample a bake treat. The staff is wonderful, just pleasant and helpful. The black gloves has much better appeal than the typical transparent ones. Highly recommend!

Its a nice addition to the food choices of Grand Central. The flatbreads are delicious. They may look small but they packed with flavor and texture. The onion flatbread is covered with onions and the goat cheese adds a nice tang. The crust is crisp and just thick enough to hold all the toppings. All the baked goods look so delicious and pretty. The service is also so friendly.

Great northern deli. On the way to the shuttle. When it opened. Delicious. A new experience For my taste buds. Prices were acceptable. As time went on everything changed. All of the best things went away. The special flavors no more. Bland. Prices went up 30% over time. Alas I know longer eat here. And by the lack of the lines neither does anyone else.

Meyers Bageri is one of my favorite places at the Great Northern Hall! Their pastries are unique, delicious, and doesnt feel like you ate a pound of sugar. I actually enjoy their desserts more than most places and would highly encourage everyone to try them! The staff is also very wonderful, hard working, and puts a smile on my face every time Im there.

I tried out the Danish style smørrebrød. Initially I was thrown by the presemtation but once I tasted it I really liked it. Too bad The Bar doesnt serve any Danish beer though. Bartender David was also a good experience. Very entertaining. Good try but no match for Ida Davidsen + the Queen of smørrebrød

Not that great. I am Scandinavian and the food is not impressive. Snack food. No full meals. Expensive. $20 for 3 little meat balls. Beer in a can for $9. Poor ventilation from the cooking so you end up smelling like you did the cooking yourself. There are better places in GCT.

Tried the "hot" pork sandwich and was greatly disappointed, it was lukewarm at best. The staff told me that a cup of tap water was going to cost extra despite paying for the sandwich and that I wasnt paying for the water but the right to use the glass.

Dont buy coffee here unless youd like to pay for overpriced hot diarrhea. The house blend is disgusting. I usually dont complain, but I was sure it was stale and got a fresh cup, but nope, fresh it was.

Had the kale and butternut squash breakfast sandwich. Could have been and should have been great but one half of the breakfast sandwich was hot and the other half was out of the fridge cold.
