Hosted my wedding at Malmaison in August 2014. The event was fantastic! I highly recommend planning a private event at Malmaison and working with its wonderful, talented chefs and staff! FOOD: FANTASTIC! Guests commented to me that it was the best wedding food they have ever had. Chef Gerard Pangaud developed a tailored menu for our event and it thrilled our guests. Lets not forget about the pastries and desserts. I believe Pastry Chef Serge Torres made our desserts. They were also fantastic and garnered fave reviews from our guests! EVENT MANAGER: As the bride, I worked with the event manager, Sarah Petersen, prior to the event for planning. During the event I hardly saw Sarah, because she was off making the entire event move according to our set plans. Following the wedding, my friends and family keep commenting to me how hard Sarah was working, but as the bride I was appropriately sheltered from that on the day of my wedding. It was so great to spend the wedding enjoying the event with friends and family and having Sarah orchestrate the event. Sarah was a huge help! VENUE: The space was perfect for our 75-person wedding. Dining tables on the lower level and wedding ceremony and dancing on the upper level. The weather the night of the wedding was a hot, steamy, and rainy, but the Malmaison climate controls kept up with the event guests and we were never to hot or experienced humidity in the restaurant. perfect!

I was here for the Google City Guides holiday party in 2014 and I really enjoyed it. The space had super awesome lighting that was both edgy/good ambience but still well lit so that it didnt feel like an overly dark restaurant. All the wait staff and bartenders were super nice and very attentive. They had two options for premade cocktail, one was champagne based and the other was whiskey based. Both were delicious. They also had beer and non-alcoholic drinks available upon request. At another separate bar they had different types of hot chocolates and teas, many of which had "adult" versions available as well. All super tasty! The food was excellent, especially the crepes and chocolate mousse. The space generally had good flow as well. My only minor complaint was that a few more places to sit would not have gone amiss. Lastly, while the place is not super easy to metro to, there are a few buses that run from the Foggy Bottom metro stop, as well as capital bikeshare, and it would be a super cheap uber ride if need be. There is some parking available on the street, but if its a friday or saturday, it might be difficult to find.

Their brunch is absolutely delectable, envy worthy pictures for proof! My boyfriend, being the awesome guy he is arrived early for my birthday picked out the best table and made sure a bouquet of flowers were waiting. My reservation for 4 was honored for my Sunday morning birthday brunch. Parking at Georgetown waterfront ( or anywhere for that matter) is nuts!! So arrive 15 min early to find parking, pay for the semi close garage under the movie theater, or the 15 min can be used for when you settle for a (possibly illegible) parking spot 1 mile away. Can you Uber it? Just uber it. The location is gorgeous right on the waterfront park complete with open air atmosphere when the weathers right, they pull open their huge glass garage style walls. The waitstaff was great and attentive. I GOT A CHAMPAGNE DRINK WITH CHOCOLATE DRIZZLE & COCONUT FLAKES ON THE RIM*** I mean, thats amazing!! Eating brunch with a full table of food & endlessly flowing drinks does not come cheap obviously, but who cares? Check them out!

I have been here twice and I have to say this venue is excellent. If you are coming here to host an event this is a great place. The staff is extremely helpful and fast with replying to emails. The price of the venue is a little pricy but its for the location and excellent facility. I came in today for coffee and had a lovely time. The chairs and tables are unique to this venue and has a European cafe feel. Plus the fresh flowers on the tables are an excellent touch. I ordered a cappuccino and was not terribly impressed. The coffee itself was good but the foam was not up to par. The foam was not very frothy and that my favorite part. I ordered a scone and the scone was nothing special. There is parking out front. You can find free parking as well as cheap pay-to-park parking. The server was friendly. When you only want coffee you buy the drinks at the coffee bar and can sit anywhere. The server doesnt serve you the coffee.

Great food in a great space. Lots of light, pleasant ambiance and minimalist decor. Pity the staff are horrible. Rude, mean, and inattentive. Customer service and basic manners are lacking. We had an event brunch and the buffet bar staff were nasty to other staff, demeaning and rude. Then as we were just finishing, a staff member came up and told us that they were opening to the public and they needed us to leave so all the tables could be available to them. No other words or attempt at courtesy. Just "get out." Wait, I paid money for my brunch, too. And if you didnt want us there during the time indicated (9am-12pm. It was barely 11am), why did you agree to host the event? Hideous. Not recommended at all.

I always run on the georgetown waterfront. Having just moved back from Italy, ive been craving a coffee place that resembles a more European lifestyle or feel. Not just good, quality coffee or knowing how to properly make an espresso or a cappuccino, but a place with amazing atmosphere. I stopped by this place to grab a bottle of water and decided to order a doppio as well and after that moment I was in love with this place. The people working were friendly, one of the girls had a strong accent and I believe she was French or Italian though I dont recall, and the atmosphere is exactly what youd expect out of an European cafe/restaurant. Cant make it out there often but I love this place.

This review is for Malmaison as a coffee shop. As a cafe its 5 stars for me and my go to place on weekends. Most DC coffee shops are packed with people on weekends. Not Malmaison, where the coffee and snacks are delicious and there is always space to sit. They have some serious baristas here that will only make legit espresso drinks for you. Also the space is beautiful with lots of natural light where you can look out the windows to watch runners and bikers headed towards to Capital Crescent Trail. Ive also stopped here after doing the 20 mile Capital Crescent Trail bike ride and the staff hasnt judged me for walking in with full body spandex. So extra points for them there.

This place is a hidden gem in Georgetown tucked away on the far end of K St. Never go that far down that street and would never had known about unless a friend told me. Love the open space with big windows with lots of sunlight which open up during warm weather. Relaxing place where you can linger and have yummy food and conversation with friends. Lunch is awesome. French onion soup a must. They have a three or four course dinner menu. Lovely unique flavors. Crazy hidden parking spots to the right of restaurant up slight hill. Would be a great date spot for lunch. Dont forgot to indulge yourself in sweet treats at the end.
