Ive been stopping here for years. Unlike Waffle Houses in the South, this location is rarely busy after breakfast. Unfortunately, like their cousins in the South, this location is nasty dirty. I walked in this evening at around 7:15. I was the only customer in the place. Just about every table was dirty with leftover scraps of food and a nice greasy sheen. Four employees in the place and no one was cleaning a thing. I asked the friendly server behind the counter if they had just experienced a rush hoping that would explain the mess. She looked at me like I was confused and said, "no". There was a guy in a polo shirt who may have been the manager standing near the swinging door texting away in his cell phone. I thanked the young lady and said I was going to move on to a restaurant that was clean. She again looked at me like I was confused and shrugged her shoulders. The manager guy never looked up, just continued to type away. Unfortunately, this isnt the first time its looked this way. Sadly, I wont be back.

For some reason, I never stopped at this Waffle House even though its right along many of my trips southbound. Well, I decided to correct this oversight one evening. The Middletown Waffle House is a lot like pretty much every Waffle House Ive been to so far. It looks like a small diner with an open kitchen. Parking is just along the front and one side of the diner. In a pinch, you could park at the shopping center next door too. However, given the restaurants small capacity, I doubt parking would ever be an issue. Overall, this Waffle House was relatively clean, even if not the cleanest. (Bits of food tend to fall on the floor and they cant always clean it up right away.) My server that evening was very nice and very efficient. The Waffle House menu, like all other Waffle House menus, was compact but offered many choices. I went with my favorites, hashbrowns "all the way" and a classic waffle, and they made those pretty much according to spec.

Walked in, sat down and immediately had a waitress ask me for my order. Since Im an experienced "Waffle Houser", I ordered what I wanted and within what had to be 5 minutes, I had my perfectly cooked food. Nothing was undercooked nor over cooked. My coffee actually tasted like coffee which never seems to happen at ANY Waffle House. This was definitely a great experience as far as staff/cook/customer.

Hmmmmmm, I go back and forth on my impression on this place. Most of the time when I eat here I am underwhelmed by the experience. It just does not seem clean enough behind the counter to get me to come back over and over and give it a better rating.

A great day always starts with Waffle House! The service is excellent, the food is perfect, and the whole atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. You get to see your food cooked step by step in an overall great dining experience!

Douchekywalker.... Was making food and putting his ear buds in All while making food. Very unsanitary. Despite wearing gloves. The waitress was cute though and soft spoken. Food was good the country ham was salty. Fast and easy.

Hotter inside than outside! Service sucked and the quality of the food was just as bad. Very disorganized. Place is being operated by a bunch of incompetent children. Definitely not the waffle house it used to be.
