From the second I walked in I felt an unwelcoming vibe. It was a bald man with glasses who was hesitant to greet me and my friend. He turned out to be very rude not even asking us if we wanted any beverages. He just poured us water. My friend tried to order and the man literally walked away while answering "ok" with his back turned. I had to yell out at him telling him I wanted the same thing. He didnt ask us if we wanted any other drinks or appetizers nothing! The chicken tikka masala tasted alright but we didnt get any of the bread or sauce for the rice everyone else is used to getting. For the entirety of our meal not one person came to ask us if the food was ok. Not even a refill on our tiny water cups. Especially because the food was spicy! I dont know if its a racist thing because we are Hispanic or because the staff is just that damn rude but omg Ive never been treated that way in a restaurant. Especially in a town like west Hartford which holds a high standard when it comes to its restaurants. What happened is unacceptable and I will never go back to Bombay Olive again.

First of all, restaurants like these are freaking Nepalese restaurants, that claim serve Indian food. Such restaurants have no skill in preparing vegetarian dishes, which is root of Indian cuisine. I did a blunder by ordering carrot halwa one fine day, and then aloo parantha the other night and when complianed, received a rude "whats wrong with it" and "everyone eats like this" attitude on both incidents. The staff is rude, outspoken and waiters are ready to argue with you for minutes, rathen then accepting and correcting, what is being said, in seconds. This is one restaurant I am never going to go back, to get me and my family insulted right on our face. Shame!

Poor hygiene. Had stomach upset after having food (biriyani) there. Water in glass had dust so had to ask for water replacement. I ordered chicken biriyani medium spiciness.. but what I got was a oil laden chicken curry mixed in rice with high amount of oil per rice grain.. felt as if I was eating food soaked in oil.. on top of it... there was no spiciness in food at all though i said medium spiciness (they had mild, medium and high spicy options).. the food was close to sweet than spicy atleast to my tongue... only good thing that i felt about the place was, it offered lunch at 4pm ( though not a delicious or hygienic one) definite no from my side

Nice place. Customer service is really good. Very very friendly staff. They also have the Taj Mahal beer. One of my favorites. Only complaint is some of the food was not very hot in temperature. But the food still taste great. I was there for the buffet and it cost $30 for two buffets And1 Taj Mahal 24 ounce beer bottle. That was for the lunch buffet. Not a bad deal for going out to lunch for two. Highly recommend to anyone whos in the area. The AC was off in the beginning but toward the end of our meal the AC turned on and it was with much more comfortable.

I went today 4th March 2016. And ordered chicken Biriyani and chicken do Piyaza. Both dishes are not up to my expectation. Biriyani tested like chicken curry and rice. And chicken do piyaza was okay. Both are ordered with medium spicy but no spice at all.salt was missing in curry. I was expecting food to be more hot.Service wise staff and service is good. Food wise it still needs improvement. I am completely disappointed with food.i will recommend the owner to improve the food quality. Thanks but sorry as per my visit 1star.

Absolutely amazing! Great menu and service, by far the best Indian food in the area. Have tried many different Indian places and Bombay Olive takes the cake. Arjun and the staff are friendly and courteous, always ensuring you are happy with your experience. For first time Indian food experimenters, they will work with you to find something you will enjoy. The dishes have never disappointed in the many times I have been here. Have taken many coworkers here and all have been very impressed. Highly recommend this place!

We went for the lunch buffet, not much of a selection but nonetheless the food was great. One of our buddies in the group got full pretty quickly and did not finish his first plate, and when the waiter came over to clear the plates, noticed that the plate still had food and insulted my friend by accusing him that he didnt like the food. Left right after with a very small tip. We loved the food... too bad that waiter had to be rude.

The briyani had well cooked chicken and a varied taste with a tint of sweetness. Just ask for medium spicy rice. It was purrrfect and 5.0 point food ! My phone carrier didnt have any LTE in New Britain. So I had ask for temporary use of their internet. But they didnt offer an open wifi. Otherwise the service and food were just great.

This place is great! We have dined in and done take out. For a fair price you usually get enough food for two meals. I typically order the chicken curry (hot) or chicken vindaloo. The Garlic Naan is also excellent. The service is always awesome, probably why we stick with them over competitors. Look online for coupons.

We went there couple of times. So, we have seen the quality of food and services from going good to worst. Only thing I find edible now when I visit the restaurant is samosa and chai. The food they cook there is not Indian food. Adding too much tomatoes and yoghurt to an Indian curry sauce does not make it better.

Bombay Olive has been our favorite restaurant for years. The service is friendly, the decor is lovely, and the food is truly delicious. We love their menu so much that we asked them to cater our wedding, and the guests are still raving about dinner, months later! Bombay Olive is simply the best.

Went there to get samosas to bring home because I heard great things about this place. When I checked the bag at home I saw six burnt samosas. They must have used some really old oil or something because it was completely inedible. Had to throw them all out. Waste of my money and time.

This place sucks. Walked in with family on mothers day asked to be seated at a different table . Waiters were very rude and made a disrespectful comment . Confronted the manager and he didnot do anything other than smiling. Will never go to this place.very disappointed

I traveled to India few times and the food is great but Bombay olive food is not Indian ( No Taste ) Also the Owners are very rude especially the bold guy. I gave the waiter a tip and he told me the owners keep there tip so no need for me to give him.

I know it is subjective but we asked for very mild. The food came out blazing fiery loaded with chili heat. Life saver was the burger place next door which had the heaviest shakes I ever had. Put simply the food hurt both ways.

Wonderful atmosphere, they make you feel at home and are great at explaining the menu for people new to the cuisine style :-) We have become regulars and are very happy that we tried this wonderful restraunt!
