About halfway into January, I called to make a reservation for late February for my sorority. The woman on the phone insisted I wait to call again until a week before the date I wanted my reservation on, so I listened to her. I called on February 17th to make a reservation (even though no one here ever picks up the phone - it takes about 3 tries to get someone and not a machine), and when I asked to make a reservation for that Saturday, February 25th, the time slot I wanted was completely booked, and I only need space for 30 girls. Of course I was upset because I would have booked this a month ago, but the lady I had talked to told me to wait. So, I had to make it for another time later that day. I was told I would be charged half of the price of what 30 girls would cost ($420) as a deposit, but when I looked at my credit card online an hour later, I was charged the full $840. I was unhappy, so I attempted to call back 2 more times before someone picked up. The lady on the phone apologized and said she would credit me back the $420, but when I looked at my credit card online again later, I was charged an ADDITIONAL $420, making it a total of over $1200. I had to then call them AGAIN to get that settled. I was also supposed to receive an invoice in my email, but I didnt get for another two days because the lady on the phone didnt write down my email correctly. I had even asked her if she wanted to make sure if she spelt it right before I hung up the phone, and she insisted she had my email right - turns out she didnt. Then, a couple days pass, and it looks like the 25th is going to rain, so a couple days before, on that Wednesday, I called to move my reservation to Sunday, February 26th. They had a decent time slot open, so I picked it. I had to then organize another list of girls who said they could make it. Yesterday, the 25th, just barely 24 hours before my reservation, I get a call from Powder Ridge saying they are CLOSED FOR THE SEASON. Yet on Wednesday when I had talked to them, they had not given me any previous warning as to whether they might close early or not. They asked me if I wanted a $420 gift card for next season and I said "no", as if I would be able to bring that many girls back to their site in a year from now! Thankfully they said they would refund me, but I have yet to see that in my credit card statement. I will never do business with them ever again. Trying to coordinate an event with this company has caused me more stress than good, and they cancelled on me 24 hours before my trip! Do not plan big events here unless youre looking for a hard time

My first and last time coming here. I brought my kids up for some snowboarding and tubing. I purchased my sons 4-hour lift ticket and then asked for two tubing tickets for her and I and the young attendant stated they were sold of tubing tickets. So we left the counter and my son quickly took off boarding and now Im trying to see what my options are for her. I decide to let her try skiing. I get back in line to buy rentals, lift ticket, etc. and while waiting, I hear the gentlemen in front of me buy 3 tubing tickets. WTF!! I ask the girl why she just sold tubing tickets when 15 minutes ago she said she had none? She stated spots opened up. Fine, whatever, I order 2 tubing tickets. She smiles and said " i only have one for sale". Unreal. I buy one ticket and send her on her way. My son then shows up 10 minutes later and said "all the lifts are closed". Long story short, for this trip my son was able to snowboard for one hour and my daughter went tubing alone (How fun, right?!) . This place was a waste of money, time, and my sanity. Oh and their YouTube video of their tubing mountain is not at all what it is in reality. Never again!

Dont listen to the negative reviewers with their unrealistic expectations of Vermont mountains here in the relatively flat shoreline of CT. I took my 2 young kids here this winter and last. There are no big mountains anywhere around here. Powder ridge does a good job of catering to families. The place was permanently closed just a few years ago and the new owners have redone the lodge and worked to make this a fun place to visit. Pros: The food was surprisingly pretty good tasting and varied Nice Remodeled Facility Reasonable prices to get kids involved skiing Lots of Friendly staff around Snow tubing for those that dont ski Adirondack chairs and a fire for hanging out watching the kids from the bottom of the slopes. Negatives: - Could use more snacks and candy at the cafeteria - The yearly snow and weather in CT varies and is either snowy and cold or mild producing a short ski season. - You will get nice groomed snow conditions but there are no mountains around here so the trails are mild in difficulty.

Just sucked.. my gf and I did the 2 hour tubing and for like 25$ for 2 hours per person we thought wed try it, well it wasnt good. First off as we came to tube lift we had to find our own helmets, we were struggling finding sizes/ or adjusting..a worker walks by us and gives us a smile and walks by and I out of courtesy asked "how are you sir". no reply or help..next the tube lift.. im a tall guy at 64 the guy says "alright sit on down and be still" well as i get down on the tube the cable for the lift hit me in the head and i clench over in pain mummbling under my breath, no response or are you okay from the worker.. this happened twice..lastly stopping at the bottom isnt easy.. yea they have 3 small rubber mats to stop you but your going too fast it doesnt help and got yelled at bc i didnt slow down bc i didnt put my feet down to slow?? It was all ice and did nothing..and my gf got hurt at the bottom..no help. Atleast we got our refund left 25 mins into our session. Would i try again? Probably not.

Ive been skiing for 28 years, Ive skied every trail on every mountain in VT, NH, ME, NY. I came to powder ridge on a nice sunny march day, geared up, walked in with my goggles on, purchased my ticket, walked over to the lift and the lift attendant left her post came over to us and rudely exclaimed "Dont even bother strapping in, youre not getting on the lift without at helmet." Wow, Its upsetting to be treated with such blatant disrespect. They werent even open last year! Apparently this is THE ONLY hill anywhere with a mandatory helmet rule, I guess at powder hill even adults are treated like children! They get 1 star for the cashier who at least had the courtesy to refund us, oh and there was a sign warning us that we needed a helmet, it was hand written on a toilet paper sized piece of paper (no joke). Thanks for wasting our time, were never coming back to powder hill
