On a date with my wife and wanted to try a new restaurant. Saw this one advertised at a bar a month ago and was intrigued. Place was small BUT had a great ambience. Food was very good and wait staff to match. However with that said, we had to give them 3 stars due to an incident that could have been rectified by management. We were seated near the kitchen door and there was a gentleman standing taking to his nephew when the door opened and he bumped into the waitress which caused her drop salad plates and dressing all over my wifes down coat and floor. No big deal as we can pay for dry cleaning. The gentleman who sat us down (thought was the owner) should have done something to rectify. Round of drink, take care of dry cleaning, apologize for situation, give discounts for next trip... nothing. Side note... our waitress was attentive and brought over some club soda and napkins to help clean it off.

When you go to most restaurants, there is a specific locale of flavor. The Shell Station Restaurant right next to the Stratford Train Station is superb, in that its focus is on seafood and derives its flavors from all over the world including sushi made fresh with an experienced sushi chef. They have recently changed owners and is now owned and operated by a gentleman named Mike, who is well versed in the art of flavor and quality necessary for success, being a long standing partner of A&S Italian Fine Foods, in Fairfield, Ct. If you stop by the stratford train station and have some time, stop in for some food and enjoy a surprisingly delicate atmosphere.

My friends and I enjoyed the standard menu very much at lunch, only spending $60 between us. That includes beverages, four entrees, salads, a shared calamari appetizer and one of us had a big soup. The Encrusted Sole was excellent, the homemade crabcake was very good and the Osabo soup was hearty, filled with noodles and a seafood medley. They also have a sushi bar here and well definitely be back to give it a try. The decor in this place is VERY tired -- doesnt really match the simple, delicious mix of New Englands best with sushi -- but thats Stratford for you! Dont want to scare the old people too much! (-:

Was there last night, and had no idea it was "trivia night": an amplified voice that made conversation impossible. This place has decided to have "entertainment" each night to boost business, but what used to be a pretty, comfortable restaurant w/ above-average food has now become a bar at which you can get food and then be overwhelmed by whatever theme du jour there is. Sad, and management cared not one bit for our repeated complaints during dinner. NEVER again, and yes, they will close shortly, as the five fans of this stuff will not be able to run a bar tab big enough to support the enterprise.

Good location @ train station w/ample & designated parking [R] spaces; Good food; Great little "served warm" rolls - makes a big difference. However service was quite rushed - waitress kept coming over for clearing@ least 6 times.. Way too much & annoying. Dont know if she was bored or trained that way- a definite no-no!

Come here for lunch at least once a week for their sushi lunch deal. Three rolls, great salad with ginger dressing for $10 bucks. Cant beat it. Sushi quality is up there. Parking can be tricky sometimes but if you are there after 1 or 2 it wont be a problem.

Well run establishment, good selection of wine, decent American fare alongside Sushi! Also runs the commuter coffee shop in the same building, arguably the best on the New Haven line.

I hot wings for happy hour and lets just say i was disappointed. Over cooked, small, bones broke easily, too much sauce. Just not appetizing

This place is listed as seafood. Sushi is the only seafood on the menu and clams on the appetizer side.
