I chose to eat here after reading about them in the paper. Took my family of 4 and had high expectations. Food was mediocre, but the customer service was the worst. My dinner came out 30 mintues after my family had their meals and had finished eating. We received no acknowledgment or apologies from the owner, which would have been nice, especially since we had ordered a full menu: wine, salads and entrees. Upon receiving our check (expensive and overpriced), it would have been nice to have gotten a token drink or something off for our wait. Instead, we were told there was nothing to be done and they would "get us" the next time we were in. Sorry, no next time for this family. We spent quite a bit of money on the meal and in these economic times, you really do need to treat your customers well, especially since the food was not exceptional. We made a choice to eat there tonight, but we have also made the choice not to go back.

Terrible service, took them 45 minutes to bring out appetizers: two salads and fried calamari. They did not ask us if we wanted separate checks and when we asked for separate checks per couple our waitress acted like it was an impossible task to do and we could see and hear her complain about us to the other staff from the cash register. Nobody drank alcohol, so she charged us per coke refill!! And was rude for the remainder of the evening. Their canoli tasted like pure frosting, their lasagna had we could only describe as mystery meat and was cold when served. Their pizzas were decent but thats it.

This place has gone way downhill. The food is just okay, but the service is atrocious. I was only a party of 2 while a party of 10 was there so we got NO service whatsoever. We couldnt even finish our meal because no one came to refill our water or drinks or ask if everything was okay. My boyfriend ordered a meal with a description of an "abundance of lobster" in it....4 tiny bits is not an ABUNDANCE to me. It took 30 minutes to even get our check. Basically, we were completely and totally ignored. $80 and I cant even get some more water? I will never step foot in this restaurant ever again.

I recently participated in a pizza challenge at work (independent of the Stamford Pizza Tour) which had over 10 people rating almost 20 local pizzerias on 6 subjective categories and compared the added totals of all categories to each pizzeria. Amore Restarrant won this competition by leaps and bounds. Scoring high for ingredients, service, value, and overall taste. Where other pizzerias failed, Amore Restaurant surpassed. The waitstaff is extremely friendly, the cost is more than reasonable and most importantly, the pizza is the best Stamford has to offer.

I went back to Amore after about 15 years based on a high rating from something called the Stamford Pizza tour. I ordered take-out and they didnt even put my pizza in the oven until after the time they told me it would be ready. Once I got the pizza home and tried it, the crust was like cardboard and the flavor was bland at best. It was so bad my wife cried. Im not fan of Dominos, but if you like pizza, youre better off visiting the Dominos up the street. The Stamford Pizza tour is a complete fraud and youll learn why if you visit Amore.

Amore makes terrific food. Staff is always friendly and prompt. The whole ambiance and environment is very nice, whether you are with a group or a party of two. The bartenders know their mixed drinks and make them well. Ive tried many offerings from apps, dinners, pizza, all have been excellent tasting and consistent. Since my first visit Amore left me with a great experience with every aspect, and each continuing visit it has met those same expectations it left me with.

Went there with some friends and I have to say the food was pretty good. Margherita Pizza was AWESOME! Salad was ok. I gotta give props to our waitress. My friend was a bit intoxicated and obnoxious. Gave the server a hard time because she didnt like her pizza. The waitress handled it like a pro, and took her pizza off the bill. There was no attitude or anything. Very professional. The spot is cozy and family friendly. Overall I really liked it.

Amore has a great social atmosphere. The bar is a great place to hang out, eat and catch a game. The servers are friendly and attentive. The owner is a great guy, filled with passion about the food and service. The outside porch is great for outdoor eating and inside is very much alive! Good spot for first dates or hanging out with friends.

Stop, drop, and get yourself to Amore! Their pizza is fantastic and their friendly staff will leave you wanting more. I recommend starting with the Burrata and then diving right into a pie. If you happen to arrive on Sunday, make sure you get the Breakfast Pizza! We love our neighborhood Amore!

Had my Wedding Rehearsal dinner here in January and had a great time. The food and drinks were both amazing and the staff was very helpful. We had a party of about 30 and the restaurant was able to accommodate us without any issues. I couldnt have expected anything better.

My wife and I love this restaurant. The food always tastes individually prepared and nicely presented - and have a nice range of choices on the menu. They always give customers a nice welcome - especially returning regular customers.

Our first meal in Stamford when we were house hunting and then our first meal after we moved. OTs not just a sentimental favorite but the food is phenomenal, the staff is warm and welcoming, and they love babies and dogs.

Wasnt impressed. Service lacked. We asked what she would recommend. She pretty much said. Ive never had anything here so Im not a lacked flavor. Drinks not correct and wine bad. Took forever to get our check.
