Worst experience ever!!! Long waits, bad service, poorly managed and pricey $$$$. Took my family, wifes first time, waited for an hour to be seated, ordered our food, took Forty-five minutes for our food to arrive, thats after we complained to our waitress, who kept saying "your food will be out shortly". Kiddies ordered the pulled pork with coleslaw, I the same, my wife a salad and my son had a side of fries with his meal. Meat (pulled pork) was on a bare tin pan, in one pile, all together, no brown paper for protection, next to the meat was two pieces of corn bread, look a bit mundane, coleslaw was on separate tin pan, again no brown paper, wifes salad was separate warm to the touch, fries where separate and cold. Looked like the cook or person preparing the food got upset, through it all together on the tin pan and said here to the waitress. Now I would have expected that the meal would have followed suit to how we ordered our food, e.g. 1/2 pound pulled pork, coleslaw and corn bread on a tin pan with brown paper between the food and the tin pan, etc., as each had ordered, as experience previously. When we brought this to our waitress attention, she gave us the song and dance about being a family plate. When we question her response, she got nervous and said let me get the manager. That took another five minutes. Manager was of little help, a bit obtuse, didnt really have the understanding of what seemed to be the problem; 1) Forty-five minutes to get something that is already cooked, that takes minimal time to prepare, 2) food that you are about to eat is sitting on a tin pan with zero protection (no brown paper) between food and tin pan and 3) no presentation experience, food plopped in a pile very mundane looking and this meal will end up costing between $70-80 bucks. Come on! Get real. Couldnt take it any more...we agreed, as a family, to take our business to Prime Burger in town where we had the best burger ever and laughed about the experience. Hope your experience is better than ours.

If I had to choose one word to describe Hoodoo Brown Barbeque it would have to be AWFUL. It was the worst restaurant experience weve ever had...my folks took my bf and me here to celebrate his birthday. First, they wont take reservations for parties of fewer than 10 people, so we arrived early (5:30ish) on a Saturday night in early October and were told the wait was an hour. We stood in the lobby of the restaurant and watched parties come in and get seated while we waited. My dad, who is nearly 80, is on full-time oxygen, and they kept him standing there waiting and waiting. Finally they told us we could sit in a separate room at a large table which was reserved for 8PM. Its now about quarter to 7. They warned us that we would have to be finished in time for the reservation. Immediately the manager started worrying that he wouldnt have his table back in time. Then they sat another party at the other end of the table. We ordered and waited probably half an hour for our food to come out. Seriously, this place is a joke. Food just piled on tin plates, $8 for a side of french fries "to share" (which were not even close to good and very small, hardly bigger than the small order which was $4)...my bf was supposed to get sweet potato fries and got regular ones. The service was horrible. This has to be the easiest server job ever...she basically did nothing but plop the plates down on the table. The food is ridiculously overpriced. I didnt see the bill but it had to be well over $100 for 4 of us. I was actually embarrassed that I had put my parents in such and uncomfortable position sitting on basically bar stools and being treated so poorly while spending way too much money. Needless to say, none of us will ever eat there again. I cant remember ever being treated so poorly at a restaurant in my entire life. Oh, and the food was AWFUL too, to add insult to injury. Hoodoo Brown was an outlaw and this place should be outlawed too. AWFUL, just AWFUL!

First of all, lets address some of the negative reviews that may be associated with the restaurant. This restaurant is relatively brand new, and is privately owned. Many negative reviews are focused on the long wait times and some of the staff, but growing pains such as these are to be expected with a new establishment, let alone one so inundated by popularity as this. A new staff working together will take time to work into perfection, and adjusting output on the kitchen for the level of traffic on any given night is extremely difficult. So if you are easily annoyed or irritated by slight hiccups like this, you might want to reconsider. But if you have any level of patience in your mind, and would like some seriously good BBQ, look no further. I am one of such people who has the patience and experience to know that a restaurant only a few months old might be slightly debilitated on a Saturday night, and I expect there to be some minor issues. Yes the food took a little while longer than expected, and yes, the food is presented on a tin pan, much the same way food is normally placed on a ceramic plate. Our food was hot and delicious. Bottom line: If you want to support a local business which features some of the best BBQ in the area, with some great craft beers/cocktails from their bar, look no further. Its worth the wait, and I sincerely doubt the true BBQ fan will be disappointed. I look forward to supporting this restaurant in the future and appreciate the level of quality and dedication they put in their product, and hope they never stop improving.

Food is delicious. Visited 4 times now. Food is always good. Brisket especially. Prices arent cheap, but you wont leave hungry. The sandwiches are great and the best bang-for-the-buck. Parking is a nightmare. Place is way too large for the 10-12 spots they have. Walking behind random stores and apartments to get from "parking in rear" to restaurant might be OK for a random spot in middle of nowhere, but for a place right on route 7 is silly. Be prepared to wait at peak times. And make yourself known. The "hostess" has never been proactive. Service is hit or miss. At peak times, staff will lose track of who is servicing your table. Last visit: bartender was constantly wiping nose with a napkin, but pouring drinks without even an attempt to wash hands. Our table of 3 was seated for 10 minutes before we caught the attention of a waitress who then found the waiter who was assigned to our table. Overall, I would give this place some more time to get their act together. The growing pains should be over by now, but they have plenty to work on. Given time, this place could be great. One last note... You will smell like smoke for a long time after your visit. I wouldnt go here if you plans after.

The atmosphere of the place is really cool, you get the feel of the log cabin and the main room has a glass wall overlooking the smokers giving you the glimpse on how your food is smoked. The food itself is also good. The brisket was juicy and flavorful, the poutine loaded with brisket and gravy, and the fried chicken was crispy and juicy at the same time. However couple of things smudges the whole experience. First its really difficult to find a parking spot since the parking is limited. Second the service while nice and attentive left some to be desired. First the hostess responsible for sitting disappeared for quite a while and we were standing there with other patrons confused trying to figure out what to do. Second while I understand that things run out and things can change pretty quickly, it would be nice to inform one as soon as possible, not when all entrées arrive, that the kitchen is out of an ingredient especially if it is in the name of the dish, and particular substitution was made. Over all very good food with slight hiccup on the service. Definitely recommend and will come back sometime!
