OK first of all the lady at register is a B. I believe her name is Mrs. Evans I guess she is the owners wife. She has such a attitude she just look at you like she is tired and mad and don't want to help you. She talks real low u can badly hear her. If you ask her to repeat she get a attitude and speaks faster at the same tone. I even told her we have not been there before thinking she will perk up to new possible business she looked at me like "ok" anyways the food is not all that at ALL service is slow even when they are not that busy. Ribs are the only thing that are OK however they really dry. The catfish is absolutely Gross no seasoning frys taste soggy like they were soaked in water. I can't believe they been open as long as they have. Very overpriced for this nasty mess mixed with bad service and it looks not as clean on inside. I will not be going here again. Wife Mrs. Evans needs to retire or take a vacation. Nasty nasty plus nasty food equals hot mess. Please avoid Evans bbq

Like another person that has given a review previously. I work near and came in for lunch on 07/28/2016. I keep giving Evans BBQ a chance but the ladies are rude and have poor customer service skills. I dont know if they are having a bad day or if this is a terrible place to work. She did not stock up utensils even after the rush I asked her for a straw still didnt get it. So I had to ask the guy at the back so I stocked the straws. I thought the drink was all you can drink. I paid for it and sat there and drink it instead of taking it out. I wanted more Ice and teas to cool down from heat and she said I had to pay for another drink. What difference does it make it was watered down Tea. Brisket was dry and tastless. When a black business I try to support treats me this way Im done. Gave Big Mamma Soul Food a chance too after the third time Im done nasty restaurant and thug begging me for change..

I wouldnt recommend this place to a Rat! My coworker suggested Evans to me, and I gave them 3 chances! The first time, I waited 45 minutes for a half pound of ribs and a potato. Food was decent, but the wait was too long and it was very pricey! Second time, the wait was just as long, ribs were super dry. Third time I called in my order 30 minutes early, went to pick it up, paid for it, and sat for another 30 minutes while I watched three people order their food and get it before me. Never even was acknowleged, so I just left. It was a waste of my 10 bucks for 6 ribs that I didnt even leave with! Terrible place, terrible service, very filthy, especially if you peek into the hole in the wall that shows the kitchen. Should be shut down. Im a black person that would love to support black business, but surely not this one! Go to Records BBQ on Lancaster Rd!

I read online that this was rated one of the best places in Texas to eat BBQ so being from Memphis (BBQ Capital of the World) I had to try it. Read where the ribs and the rib sandwich were delicious. Problem was the ribs on the sandwich were not cut from the bone so basically it was three ribs and a bun. But, it was really good with smoky rich flavor. Loved the sweet BBQ sauce. Pinto beans were great too. It will probably be our go to BBQ place. Next time I will ask them to cut the meat off the bone to make my sandwich and bring my own cole slaw as they do not have any.

I didnt think anyones ribs could compare to Hutchins in McKinney TX or Fatboys in Cooper TX they are the REAL DEAL smoked ribs not the sh;tty bakers, soulman dickies crap. Evans ribs are great but Fatboys are still the king. Ill be stopping at Evans every time i pass through DeSoto TX for a slab of ribs period!

My food wasnt hot even after waiting 15 mins. The Mac & beef was great but the side portions are very small to be considered a dinner plate. I enjoyed the BBQ sauce but the sausage and brisket were very dry. All the surfaces could use a good wipe down (sticky, layers of dust and food particles).

The food was amazing!!! Service was great! Brisket and beans were great!! But the french fries and Mac & beef and cheese were out of this world!!! Gumbo had great flavor but a little too but for me, hubby loved it!!!!! Thanks for the best food!!!!!!

The ribs and brisket have good flavor, how ever they were dry and hardly warm. I imagine if it had just been pulled I would have enjoyed it more. The decor is bland and price is decent. Would like to try it again.
