No thrills old school breakfast and lunch place hidden in center of New Britain. Food and coffee is good quality, staff is friendly. The menu has great options as well as: #1 "Ultimate omelet challenge" (dozen eggs and all the trimmings) finish in 30 min and its free. #2 "Miss Washington Monument Challenge" (4x1/2lb patties, 8 strips of bacon etc. Finish in 20 min and its free. Better bring adjustable pants as those are monster plates of food. This place is left over from the old days so it does need a little renovation, but for the prices they charge you get your bang for the buck for sure. Free Wi-Fi too

The new owner, Dan, has revamped the menu and is working to re-build the customer base. Come in and say hi. Dan is a young and hard working owner who is behind the grill himself 99% of the time. The structure is classic diner style and is, admittedly, in need of renovation. That is on Dans list if he gets the business rocking. I met Dan in June 2011 when I came in after not coming for over a year due to the previous owner. Dan told me during a discussion, half laughing, the hed never seen anyone cook with hate before seeing the old owner cook!

Im a breakfast kind of guy and this is the place for me. I ordered your standard scrambled eggs sausage home fries breakfast and wasnt disappointed. The eggs were not dry, the home fries were good and greasy, and service was excellent. Not to mention, the coffee was great. The new owner Dan is making a real effort to provide good food and service, and its working. Ill be back for sure!

Dan the new owner is working very hard to erase the bad rep the past owners have made the diner with food thats never fresh coffee that tasted like cardboard now the food is always fresh coffee is awesome tasting overall the diner is looking better than ever so please go to the diner dan wants to have u leave happy and pleased food will get made anyway u like

i been coming here since i was a lil girl with my parents and now i go with my husband and kids i love everything about this place maybe i should try something new though i always have the same thing since i love it so much im sure every other dish must taste as good

Friendliest staff in Connecticut! I got the Hardware City sandwich, eggs, potatoes, sauerkraut, kielbasa, Swiss, all on a sandwich, totally made my day! Will definitely be coming back here again.
