Server was surly. Never got any utensils. Bun was stale. Got beverages after food. Ordered a sandwich, and told the server no French fries or anything else. When it arrived as a platter with (underdone) fries and runny coleslaw, I repeated I didnt want these. Reply? "It comes with." Really? Menu had a price for sandwich that was a lot less than I was charged. And nice full sentences are as non existent as the occasional "everything okay" or Thank you. Waiter dropped the plates off, begrudgingly brought us out drinks and we didnt see him again. If you expect service, go someplace else. Bacon was not well done as asked. No straw for my soda. No ketchup.

Love the staff there its one in particular Leah is her name I believe, she is so friendly fast and so nice, but sometimes the lady at the register she must be a manager of some sort I cant spell her name but it does start with a D. and I have been witness to her yelling and treating this poor girl like shirt in front of me and others and it almost makes me not want to go there because I feel embarrassed for this poor girl and she is doing an excellent job I dont know why she would have any reason to yell at this poor girl like the way she does or get on her case. But love the food and Steve is great

Monroe Diner is my favourite spot in the neighbourhood! The walls are decorated beautifully with wonderfully bright colours and the food matches the umbeyonce with delightful flavours. The service staff is equally excellent and my waitress had great humour despite the labour of her job. Their great location in the centre of town makes Monroe Diner my go to spot whenever I want to drink a litre of tay before work. I will definitely be returning soon!

This is now my favorite diner, edging out Blue Colony. You cant go wrong with most items, especially the breakfast items. The dinners can be disappointing, but everything else is usually a cut above.

Its a typical diner. If you are from New Jersey then you will think its a 2 because Jersey has some of the best diners around. But for CT this is a decent place for diner food.
