This is a diner, not a five star restaurant, so if you are looking for a gourmet meal with that "certain ambiance", move on, its not for you! But . . . if you are looking for a GREAT Diner, The Olympic is hard to beat! As I live right down the road, I frequent this diner often, you can rely on getting a good meal and plenty of it! When I give my three Grandchildren a choice of where they want to go and eat, they almost always say, "The Diner By Your House"! The dinner specials are really good deal, as they come with a beverage, soup or salad, the main entree and dessert, all included! The main entree includes a starch and vegetable of your choice! The best part is that you can pick ANY dessert, (they have so much to choose from), and all baked on the premises! Most places that include dessert only give you a very small choice, like pudding, pie, or ice cream! My two favorite desserts are the rainbow cookie cake and the baklava! The portions are also large, I always bring a ton of food home with me, dessert included! I have never had trouble with the wait staff, but on a weekend they are very busy! Not all people or establishments are perfect, but I am quite sure that if you had a problem of any kind and spoke up about it, they would take care of it! It is a Landmark and the same people have owned it forever! That alone should speak for itself! They have now "bottled" their famous and delicious "House Italian Salad Dressing", for your purchase! Its a nice sized bottle that is reasonably priced!

This restaurant has a throwback style to it common to diners and is, pretty well maintained. I love the lunch boxes over the counter. I think the wait staff could be a little more friendly during breakfast. My last two times there, they were not very attentive, and didnt even introduce themselves. Dropped requested items on the table and literally ran away. Today my food was alright although the corned beef hash was burned. Prices also seemed a little high. $17 for a turkey omelette w a side of sausage (no toast or home fries) Just seems very expensive to me and thats before tip. They definitely could do a better job w pricing in substitutions. Over all a good place to visit..Ill be back..just hope service returns to how it used to be.

The food here is really good. I have been going here for many years. The only thing is they seem to charge you for every little thing. Also I went there for dinner with my family once and asked for them to make a wrap but I was craving it a certain way and the waiter said they wouldnt do it (which is weird because diners usually will make you whatever you want and it wasnt anything crazy it was some sort of Turley wrap but they said it had to be off the menu). I was a little disappointed and went to another diner to get it because I am pregnant and was craving it. Other than that though I love going here because I havent had anything here that I didnt like. The food is good and fresh. Definitely one of my favorite diners on the island.

For the most part, its exactly what youd expect from a Long Island diner. Omelettes, pancakes, burgers, soups, salads. I like the chicken noodle soup. I like the hot open turkey sandwich. I recently had a roast turkey dinner that came with apple stuffing. The stuffing was fantastic! They also have some delicious desserts including linzer tarts and rice pudding. Great spot for a casual, quick meal any time of day.

The Olympic Diner is a quintessential Diner. Good attentive service. Cocktails, wines and beers if desired. Varied menu with good food and ample portions. The desserts are amazing. Of course breakfast is available 24/7. Today was a long day of fun and sun with the Grandkids. We stopped in at about 9 pm. Had a fun time, pleasant service, with some having breakfast, some dinner and some a late night collation.

My first experience with them and I was treated horrible i truly felt disrespected the waitress was obnoxious and disgusting I did spoke with a manager he act as if this was a regular and normal behavior I then mention to the waitress that I was a veteran served in the military her response to me was I care very little about that because my family member member died in the army the my visit was disturbing

So the food wasnt that great and the biggest disappointment was the tiny precooked bacon, with that being said the reason I gave this place 4 stars is simple. Customer Service, everything else was great, the staff was courteous attentive and my coffee cup was never empty. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a diner in the area.

Went there for the first time this past saturday...THE BREAKFAST PRICES ARE OUTRAGEOUS!...because everything is a la carte so they nickel-and-dime you to death. And then $2.50 for coffee?!? So, if you want a cheese omelette with bacon and a cup of coffee and juice...its about $20.00 (before tax and tip)...THE HELL WITH THIS PLACE!

This is a fabulous diner. The food is always fresh, hot and delicious. All of the beautiful people that work there go the extra mile to make everyone feel special and right at home. The diner is impeccably clean and feels warm, fun and cozy. You must experience it to know what I mean. I highly recommend this Diner!

Just got back from there with my sister and nieces. Slow food, waitress was inattentive and came back 3 times to verify order instead of writing it down. And insult to injury she asked if we wanted refills on soda and was charged for them on the bill. $20 just for soda. Been going for years and wont be back!

I went there for lunch. Front girl with long black hair was rude. Server, older guy with chain necklace tall kind of heavy was talking about us. Was extremely rude. The waitress who served me was very sweet. Tall skinny blonde hair. Only works Sundays. She made the experience a little better.

We will never go back there. Food was over cooked and cold. If you like cold, overcooked meatloaf with watery, runny potatoes, then it was perfect. Service was terrible. Place was crowded and very noisy, and manager was no where to be found. STAY AWAY.

Excellent diner. Friendly staff, served quick and breakfast was excellent. The pre 11am deal offers a choice of breakfast with coffee and juice for $10.50. A bargain after a week in central NYC. Id happily return.

The worst Vanilla Shake Ive ever had . The omelettes were dry. The Sausage links were low quality. A bit pricey. The waitress was attentive and nice . I will never go back even though this was my first time.

Thought they would have a diner staple of Grilled liver and onions but was sadly disappointed to find they specialize in Greek food with some other American dishes. Nonetheless the food is good.
