Ive driven past this business for the last 12 years and I am kicking myself for never going in sooner. "Traditional French Bakery" is all that is you see when driving on the road, but just seeing one picture of their exquisite display online and I was sold. Upon entering, the aroma is overwhelmingly delicious. Seeing the (mainly) young, energetic staff was pleasing. The constant buzz in the atmosphere was nice as well: for a late Sunday morning, it was still pretty busy, not so much that you couldnt sit down to enjoy a cup of coffee, which I did. For my Mothers Birthday, I was looking for a personal cake she could indulge in at her own pace, always with a cup of tea. Their strawberry cake was amazing, the cream suited the fresh strawberries perfectly, in my opinion. Mom loved hers as well. Considering it was my first time at this lovely bakery, I also brought home a few of their other goodies. Everything was gone within the hour. Also, it is VERY hard to beat Stew Leonards Garlic Bread... but I am glad I dont have to drive out of town for that anymore. Comparably priced as well. I will be making quite a few stops here to make up for the past 12 years of negligence. This is my new bakery of choice.

Tried this place for the first time this week and it completely disappointed. The chocolate croissant priced at around $3.75 was good but had very little chocolate.. This piece had around 2-3 chocolate chips in it. The hot chocolate was very overpriced as well. We expected good french hot chocolate from this place but the hot chocolate tasted exactly like the powdered swiss miss brand you can buy at the grocery store! At $4 for a 12 oz cup, we were extremely disappointed. This business is likely making around 400% profit off of this hot chocolate. This is not a good business to support in Fairfield, especially when there are so many other bakeries that have much more reasonable prices.

Absolutely the best bread around. I see the point the other reviewers make about the hot drinks- there is room for improvement there but the main focus here is the amazing bread. Good ingredients cost more and if you chose not to use the chemicals so often found in american breads that extend the shelf life then there is also more waste. Personally I prefer to pay a bit more and have a good quality product that is made with expertise not sketchy ingredients. If you have ever tried to make bread at home you will appreciate the expertise on offer here! We always take a small assorted bag of biscuits as well and they have never disappointed either!

This place is authentically French (Alsatian), and they also provide novel chocolates (which are great for this time of year). The owners are warm friendly people whom you can practice French with. I only wish that they made cakes, softer loaves of bread for one of my in-laws, and a wider selection of chocolate (but apparently each chocolate mold costs thousands of dollars). Otherwise, the brioche is one of my favorites, a bit more expensive (perhaps for the Post Rd rent) but tastier than the brioche at Simply Sweet in Greenfield Hill or Billys Bakery at Black Rock Turnpike.

I have traveled all of the world many times over and Im originally from Switzerland where they have amazing bakeries and can tell you that this bakery/patisserie is the best you can find in all the US. If you like fake cakes with artificial sugar (lots of it) with artificial colors and chemical flavored and lots of it.....then dont go there - Vincent is a true French master.

I stumbled across this bakery with two young children in tow, and that was a very happy circumstance. The array of treats was almost overwhelming, but it was clear that there were no bad decisions to be made. The staff was patient and friendly, and knew about all the options. We will come back, and it wont be accidental!

This place has 5 stars for a reason. It is absolutely, without a doubt, the most authentic French bakery this side of the Atlantic. We love visiting Paris and this wonderful bakery rivals any of the best ones in France. You will not be disappointed, everything is superb. Thank you for sharing your talents with us!!

Their bread is to die for!!! You cant go wrong with any one of their baguettes. Their pastries always look delicious and I just bought a dozen of them for some friends as an edible "thank you." They confirmed that they were as delicious in taste, as beautiful as they looked.

Exceptional. Few bakeries achieve the level of quality youll find here. Sure it reflects in the price, but the authenticity of what they make is off the charts. Highly recommend the mocha croquant cake. The flavor is tremendous.

Most of the food offered is good but it doesnt last to the next day. Needs better hours and parking. If you go later in the day many items are gone. That being said if you eat it right away its delicious.

Lovely decor but the desserts are so sweet and sugary. I wish hey were less white sugar and more taste of fruit and less refined sugar taste.

I love it! One of the reasons they are so good is because of the authenticities of the delicacies offered. The owners are FRENCH!!
