This was the worst dinner experience of my life! Went to dinner there for Valentines Day weekend with my boyfriend. There was no hostess upfront and we didnt know where to go at first. He ordered seafood linguini. It tasted weird and looked drenched in oil. Next morning the day of Valentines, he woke up feeling nauseated and then started vilently throwing up. We were staying at a bed and breakfast and had a 2.5 hour drive home to NYC. We had to check out and he had to drive while being sick as I dont have a license. He slept for the rest of Valentines Day and threw up twice again at night. The doctor said he was lucky it wasnt worse and put him on medication and special diet for a week. I had to take a day off from work to take care of him. Needless to say were not thrilled with this place and would not recommend it to even our worst enemys rat.

They ruined the pizza. Weve been here a bajillion times since they originally introduced their delicious pizza. I loved it. It was huge, super thing crust, and just all around a great pizza. We went on 5/9/2015 and were told theres only one size pizza now. Its a "medium" which is about as big as a dinner plate. It was much thicker crust and very salty. Horrible compared to the old one. I have no idea what they were thinking by doing this, but well never be back for the pizza again. The other couple we were with got entrees and said they were pretty good so this review is just about the pizza.

Went here last weekend and it was without a doubt the WORST service I have ever had. The food came out cold so we sent it back only to wait another 20 mins and get the same cold food again. The kitchen obviously doesnt know what they are doing. Lots of employees going in and out of the kitchen but no one seemed to be actually helping customers. Took the waitress 20 mins. to ring up a credit card. Took even longer to get her attention to get the bill! I wouldnt recommend this restaurant to anyone and we definitely WONT be going back. Too bad since the setting and location is nice.

The Pizza was great the last couple of times that we were there but the service was loaded with bad attitude. I guess it is the location or the rush of the theater crowd that gives the staff a jaded and indifferent attitude towards the customer - I dont know. We used to go when it was on 154 in Chester (before the move to current location) and it was a great local place. Maybe this was becasue the owners were closer to the customers in the smaller venue. The food is above agerage but the service and presentation has a long way to go!

I have eaten here several times and the food is usually pretty good. Ive had everything from the pizza to the steak to the various pasta dishes and it was always acceptable and the prices were reasonable. Because of the Goodspeed Opera House, the restaurant can quickly go from being very busy to being completely empty if the show is about to start. This restaurant isnt going to be forging any culinary milestones anytime soon but it is certainly a convenient place to get a reasonably good meal served by some friendly folks.

We have been there many times and have loved it each time. It appears that the place has changed. Ownership has changed and so has the food. So disappointed. Signature dish was chicken piccata and it lived up to its reputation, but now it was disgusting. A piece of chicken placed on mashed potatoes with a touch of sauce on top. I sent it back. We knew that there was a problem when the Caesar salad was tasteless when historically they had one of the best Caesars that I have ever had. They need their old chef back

Just picked up order. Didnt give us what we ordered-so I was extremely disappointed. When we called they were kind enough to credit us for their mistake. Also disappointed that the Lasagna was swimming in loads of liquid (looked like chunky soup with cheese on top) and was a ridiculously small portion for almost 15$. My husband did report that it did have some good flavor. The red sauce and linguini ,not what I ordered ,was extremely bland and had to add parm and salt to it. Maybe just an off night. Ugh...

This is the second time that we have been here and realized very quickly why the first time we said we would not go back. Both times have been very sloooooow service, I mean over an hour for a large pizze??? First visit had a pasta dish, was not good, the pizza was just ok. The staff seems oblivious when your standing there waiting to be seated and our waitress both times was not rude, but just not friendly at all. This time I am saying for sure I will never go back.

We recently moved to the area and have given this restaurant more than a few chances- mediocre food and inconsistent service. On one occasion when we ate at the bar, the owners son was bartending and he and his co-worker were making drinks for themselves as they un-enthusiastically waited on me and my wife. I think it is a shame as it is in a great location but they have customers at a disadvantage, as there is not much else available close by.

From a workers standpoint this is not your McDonalds fast food. There is preparation time, cooking time, and wait time that goes into every dish. Unfortunately when 50-100 people all want their food at the same time in 10 minutes or less it cant be done no matter how great the staff is, so just sit back, chill out for a few and enjoy life. Its not going to kill you.

La Vita in East Haddam CT was always one of my favorite places to eat before we moved South. Now, on our bi-yearly visits back to New England I always look forward to dining there. While the live music is hit or miss on awesomeness, the food is always delicious. And if you are with the right group of friends,...

AWFUL. We sat for a ridiculous amount of time even though the restaurant was empty. The food was cold when we received it and not really anything special. We were charged extra for a refill of ice tea and charged for a large salad instead of the side salad my husband requested. Not worth the price we paid.

Stopped in on a Thursday afternoon for a quick bite. Place had great curb appeal with a charming outdoor patio section. Servers were very friendly and helpful, food was wonderful, dishes were priced fairly. I would definitely recommend the chicken cutlet sandwich- their red pepper coulis sauce was bomb.

This is the second time I have taken the WHOLE family there before one of my sons graduated from high school. The food was great - the service was exceptional and we were out in plenty of time to get to the ceremony. You have to try the Penne Aglio-fantastic! Thanks again.

My husband myself and another couple go out to eat once a month, we always go to some place different, we have been all over the state, very few repeats BUT!! we will come back to this resturant again in the near future, it really is worth your time to try it for yourself.
