Cromwell Diner is located right next to interstate 91 which is great if you want to get some homestyle food if you have been on the road or plan to get onto the road to visit Boston or NYC. The diner does not have that classic trailer layout. This diner is very large and open space with tall ceilings. It is bright inside with large windows on three sides of the building, with bright colored walls and well lit. There is a large dedicated parking lot, and yet it fills up during the usual breakfast, lunch and dinner hours. The food certainly has the “homestyle” look and taste. The prices are great too with a very large menu selection. I have been here several times and for the most part one cannot go wrong with whatever choice you go with. I enjoy Belgian waffles, but find it that they make it a bit too crunchy for my preference. I like the chocolate cream pie (they have a good selection of different pies and puddings). If you are a fan of chicken pot pie, then you will be in for a pleasant surprise. It is homemade and a great portion for sharing. Staff are always courteous and attentive. I highly recommend this place for some homestyle food. They serve breakfast all day.

Ive been here twice--the first was a great dine-in experience and the second was an awful take-out experience with the manager (my rating of this restaurant is an average between my two visits). The staff is great, but this manager wasnt. I ordered five lunches for pick up and didnt realize that one had been left out until I got back to the office (it was the manager who handed the order off to me). This was the first time I coordinated office lunches and Ive learned from my mistake: always check your order before leaving a restaurant. I returned for a promised refund and the meal, itself. I had to deal with the manager again...He did not apologize. He handed me the now 1/2 hour old sandwich in the tin without a bag (a fresh one should have been prepared out of courtesy). When I asked for the refund, he shorted me $2 and the tax. There is another review about this same man who shorted them too...I was already fed up with this man and didnt ask for the rest. Not only this, but my co-worker had to eat a not-so fresh meal far later than everyone else did. I would go back to the Diner, but wont do business with that manager.

This diner is awful. The waiter barely spoke English. Had an allergy I needed to address and he gave stupid answers, so I asked for the manager. Which is another idiot who can barely speak English. He tells me the only item they can say is allergent free is salad. Told me they couldnt check the label on the food as they didnt have them. What? What do they keep food in? Even fast food restaurants you can find out whats in it for allergies. Manager is rude and a moron. Will never eat here again. I will make sure I always tell people to avoid this crappy diner. In this day and age with the Internet and social media, if your the owner reading this you need to fire the morning manager. Your in food service, if you cant answer questions that can get people really sick, then you should be fired. So enjoy all he customers your gonna lose from me blasting you on social media and word of mouth.

This restaurant diner is amongst the best in the state! While at a constant effort in keeping an updated menu of ingenuity with trending cuisine, this gem manages to sustain all of the classics we have grown to love from the usual diner visits. The food: From the benedicts, to the half pound burgers, to the yankee pot roasts, it is obvious that each crafted dish has been done so with considerable effort. The service: This diner is armed with a staff that is there to serve. It is clear that this place recognizes the principles of customer service. If your experience has been different, I urge to see if that server still works there. If she or he does, then Id advise you to check your own attitude. Overall: The owners concern for the customer is most apparent in the environment they offer, with a food quality and consistency that attest to the highly acclaimed.

ordered a omelette, the first issue is the morons put the wrong cheese in it, when you ask for American Cheese how the hell do you get SWISS ???... I told them please cook the home fries a little extra .... when they came out .. they were so raw that I thought they just dug the potatoes from the ground The wait staff could be heard complaining within earshot.. I did ask for wheat bread and was given white in which the toast was burnt .. the omelette itself had no taste and to me was just plain abominable and disgusting, everyone who works there was walking around looking miserable .. I would be too if I had to work there so in my opinion if you want a better breakfast ... go eat at the homeless shelter ... you will get better food.. stay far away from this nasty place...

Bad service and expensive for a "diner" style restaurant, our bill was $42 just for breakfast(2 adults and 1 child)! Besides being, in my opinion, over-priced, the food wasnt really anything to fuss about, although I will say they had GREAT coffee. The service wasnt very good, I think our waitress came by to check on us 1 time during our entire breakfast (minus taking our order, bringing it out, and bringing the check). Usually when I have breakfast at a diner the waitress is coming over constantly to refill coffee, clear plates, and just generally see how youre doing. Unless you plan on spending a quarter of your paycheck on regular "diner" food, Id suggest going down the road to Friendlys, the service is just as bad but at least the breakfast is half the price!

Absolutely awful- every single time. Every time I try to give them a secon chance they screw it up. This is what a salad with no onions looks like. They didnt even bother to give me the extra dressing they charged me for, so thats nice. another girl ordered a salad no chicken. She got chicken. Another asked for no pico on her quesadilla. Guess what was on it? Another asked for extra syrup for her pancakes. She got one tiny cup. Total. Every time we order to go the screw it up. Lasst time, they sent us chicken that was akin to rubber. They insisted we come back to get another- and it was exactly the same. Pre-cooked rubber chicken.

I used. To go here weekly. It has tanked so far I will not go back period. About the last 12 times it was bad. Cant say I didnt give em a chance at my expense. Such a rip off this place. My last visit some disgruntled customers trashed the entry area breaking glass and all. I saw the tag on the car as they left but the portion was so dinky I said nothing. Pass it up and drive through the Macs or BK. Your wallet will love you. Update : I went back because I wanted some pasta. Same mistake. Small portions. High price. The service is as if they are a front for something else. 5 years ago it was good.
