I took my mother and brother here and I still dont know how they managed to win the best seafood in Connecticut award. I ordered the baked stuffed lobster and it was supposed to have been stuffed with scallops, shrimp, and crab meat. When it arrived though, there seemed to be only breaded stuffing. I have ordered this same dish from other restaurants and there were big pieces of scallops and shrimp but, not here. Also, I ordered the 1 1/2 pound lobster but, it was obvious that I received a lobster that was a pound -- at best. Since it was lobster season, I figured the lobsters would be reasonably priced but, I was charged a whopping $35.00 for the small one I received. The lobster was a strange pink too and not the deep red that one usually gets at a good restaurant. Also, I ordered rosé wine with my meal but, received white champagne instead. The shrimp used in my shrimp cocktail were soggy and borderline raw. It was the worst $60.00 I have ever spent on a dinner. I dont recommend this restaurant to anyone who has ever been to a 5 star establishment.

FOOD IS DEEEE-LICIOUS! HAPPY HOUR EVERY SINGLE DAY, & 12P-7P ON SUNDAYS! WHO COULD ASK FOR ANYTHING MORE! LOBSTER MAC&CHEESE & FISHERMANS PLATTER TASTES BETTER THAN LENNY & JOES. MY FAVORITES FOR HAPPY HOUR ARE THE SHRIMP TACOS, SHRIMP COCKTAIL, RAW CLAMS/OYSTERS, STUFFED CLAMS, & THE MUSSELS. THE BRUSSEL SPROUTS ARE EXTRAORDINARY! SERVICE IS GOOD, STAFF IS PROFESSIONAL & FRIENDLY, EXCEPT FOR ERIC. HES THE ONLY ASIAN PERSON IN THE PLACE BUT HE SEEMS TO CATER ONLY TO CAUCASIAN PATRONS. HES JUST SHORT OF BEING RUDE, BUT HE PROVIDES ONLY THE BARE MINIMUM OF SERVICE TO NON-CAUCASIONS. WEVE VISITED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, & ON THREE OF THOSE OCCASIONS, ERIC WAS OUR WAITER & EACH TIME IT WAS VERY APPARENT THAT WE NON-CAUCASIONS ARE NOT HIS PREFERENCE. #AlanisMorissetteIronic! LOL! HOW I KNOW HIS NAME IS ON OUR MOST RECENT VISIT, WE OVERHEARD HIM TELL 2 CUSTOMERS SITTING ACROSS FROM US,"CALL ME ERIC. AND YOUR NAMES ARE? BETH & PAUL? NICE TO MEET YOU." WOW. EVERYONE ELSE, INCLUDING THE MALE MANAGER? WITH THE DARK HAIR, IS PLEASANT.

We had occasion to use the Westbrook Lobster Restaurant after a funeral last weekend. It wasnt our first choice, or even our second, but as an afterthought, it turned out to be the best decision we could have made. The staff went out of their way to accommodate all our needs, even though we were unsure of how many people would attend. We were over what we thought by almost half, but everyone there worked very hard to provide meals and drinks with the minimum of delay. The food was delicious and abundant, and very fairly priced. I applaud their efforts and would not hesitate to recommend it without reservation.

The New England clam chowder was good as was the fish and chips. The lobster roll was nothing to speak of---portion was small and it was served butter flavored oil. The bun was lightly toasted but butterless, and it needed to be salted. The wine list is average--the Pinot Grigio (normally $26), was half off because it is Wednesday--but the wine itself didnt have much flavor--not their fault, but their options could be far better when deciding to mark up wine by 200%.

This restaurant was recommended to me by someone local to the area, and I think I got unlucky with what I ordered. My mother got the lobster Westbrook style, which she enjoyed. I got the tuna steak which sounded so great on the menu... Served rare with a sesame crust on top of zucchini noodles and snap peas with a soy ginger sauce and avocado. It was really not good. I honestly barely ate any of it. I would recommend sticking to lobster if you come here.

Great service and great food. Very casual and relaxed atmosphere, makes it feel like summertime even in mid-winter. The bar has a great selection of local beers and some especially sought after regional ones as well. The prices are good, the portions are more than enough, service is quick, especially in the bar, and everything is tasty that Ive had there. When its on the menu (seasonal, I believe) the salmon Julia isnt to be missed!

Service was great. Seated right away, food came in less than 10 min. Its not a fancy place, but the atmosphere was as expected. The bar area is nice and has a great selection of local brews. The fish tacos were really good. The cod was well cooked and spiced nicely. The bread may have been the best part though.

This place is excellent. Lobster Bisque is excellent and the lobster rolls are delicious. I prefer the Connecticut style Lobster roll vs. the New England style and here is one if not the best place for lobster rolls. The price is very reasonable and the food is always fresh.this place deserves 5 stars.

Ordered dinner for our anniversary to pick up. I asked the waitress 3 times if I had everything. She went through the bag and said yes. I got all the way home and my dinner was not in the bag. I called and she checked and said oh it is here. Well my husband had is anniversary dinner alone...very upset.

How Zagat can use the word/adjective "delectable on anything at this place is a joke. WFD location is worse food-wise...plus "overlooking the river"??? Really?? At best its a a stream. One of the few restaurants Id call bad...or in Zagats case "REALLY BAD".

Westbrook Lobster steams their lobsters which some argue is the only way to cook one. Regardless, it was very good and was voted the 2016 number 1 seafood restaurant. It was quiet as the bar was set away from the main dining room. The staff was very friendly.

Four stars but not five. Food is really good but not five star - however, they are always consistent, friendly, and service is prompt. When all the tourist traps are crowded, we always find a seat at WL.

We started with the Rhode Island clam chowder, which was excellent, as were the onion rings. CT lobster roll was decent, as well as the shrimp cocktail. They have a good list of craft beers.
