We frequently go to this restaurant, and have taken friends there as well. The food is great, the seafood is also good (we dont order fried seafood, so my comments are based on the non-fried seafood offerings on the menu), and the menu has a nice selection - pasta, steaks, burgers, salads as well as seafood - so theres something for everyone. The service is excellent, and we frequently bring our young children (preschool age), the kids love the nautical decor, and the many aquarium tanks are a great distraction. Im not sure I understand all the negative reviews here. Sure, its not Carmen Anthonys for atmosphere (or prices!), but its an affordable restaurant, right on the water, and the food is great, the service is wonderful. Weve been on Saturday nights as well as during the week, weve not seen any difference in service or quality. I would disagree with another reviewer that feels this is just a local drinking hang-out. This is a wonderful restaurant for all ages, family, kids, seniors, couples - great for seafood lovers and non-seafood lovers. The Mooring is a wonderful restaurant, and I highly recommend it.

I have been going to guilford mooring for alot of years..Used to be the best place to go in guilford.. Today 12 of us went for lunch.. 1st the we ask for a table for 12.. she says. "there are alot of other people here you know" ok..no biggie..we sit outside. we order.. My sis and I get steamers.. the bowl comes out.. the first one I grab is so stinking nasty rotten ,and smelly I almost throw up!! ok.. the waitress comes,we tell her the problem and she says oh..PUUUUU that smells.. Ill take it back and bring you more.. we say ok.. the 2nd dish she brings out,dosent seem cooked enough..half of the steamers arent open,and all I can smell is that rotten steamer on my hands.. so we eat a few,thats all we can take..They used to give you hot water they were cooked in to wash the steamers,and a dish of butter..this time they gave us something that looked like dirty water out of the creek with NO taste. I have no clue what it was!!!.. I would not recommend this place to anyone anymore!!! And we ordered the double lobster roll platter.. NO GOOD.. NO TASTE very bland..

Bad food. Slow service. Management is rude and does not care. We had a gift certificate and management informed us they do not accept these on "holidays." That is completely ridiculous. Nowhere on the gift certificate does it mention this "Holiday rule." When we spoke with management, the manager said this is restaurant policy and that we can come back another day and use it. He then walked away. Worst customer experience ever. Place is dirty and there are flies everywhere. We will never go back. Absolutely TERRIBLE!!!!!!!! This place should be shut down.

Ate at this restaurant last week and was not impressed at all. No air conditioning on one of the hottest days of the summer. (Not sure if they even have a/c but they should have warned people prior to seating them if it was not working). Smelly (due to lobster pots piled up outside the open windows) and full of flies. Food was merely OK - the lobster rolls were tasteless. Glad we didnt spring for the double serving to bring home! However, the wait staff was pleasant and the menu was fairly extensive.

1st time I was there Ive ordered shrimp wrap something... The tortilla wrap and shrimp were both equally burned. Few months later same order and same burnt stuff. Then few weeks after that ordered grilled tuna blt wrap and the tuna was rare, cmon guys if I wanted to eat rare fish I would order sushi (somewhere else ofc), it tasted awful. So... So far not the best experience.

Great easy breezy atmosphere. Can look right out the window and see all the boats I the marina. Great variety of food and drinks. Beautiful long bar. We had one of1/2 of all the appetizers and all were delicious. We traveled by boat from Cedar Island Marina with Carefree Boat Club, great destination to dock and dine.

Great atmosphere and our waiter was very good and nice. The food I was disappointed. Had the salmon which was good but the presentation was awful! It was served on top of a dry hard white rice. Im one who doesnt like to complain but one who will write a review for ypu not to expect a great meal there. Go for drinks

The food and atmosphere of the Moorings have always been enjoyable. But it lacks air conditioning and we were there after a funeral. My husband was in his military dress uniform, and the heat was absolutely unbearable. The only fan I noticed was situated for the hostess use, which was unfortunate

Nice location but food is fair to poor. Shame. On my last visit they could not make a Nigroni.. Tried to tell me the mix they made up was right... Nothing like treating customers well.....so bad food and dismal service. Two strikes is two stars at best. There are other choices in town

They allowed us to bring our dog with us as we had lunch on the patio! That was awesome, but I was really blown away when someone brought over a doggie water bowl!! Very friendly staff, great food, priced appropriately for seafood + service/experience they provide.

Love the mooring. Great happy hour. Theyve built an outside bar on the patio, and where else can you get $3 happy hour beers and drinks and sit outside ON the ocean and watch the sunset? Also, try the pasta bolognese. Im a dude and I love meat sauce. Its awesome.

I cant give give this restaurant even one star. I sent my dinner back, Cobb Salad with lobster salad on the top. Everything tasted either old, slightly fermented or downright bad. Stay away from this place unless you are there just to drink.

my family and i visit Guilford by boat and stay at the Guilford Yacht Club. an afternoon with a cooler of beers at the lobster pound is heavenly. the waitress/owner is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.

You will be hard pressed to find better seafood in the area. The Mooring is right on the water with great views of the marina. It does get a bit hot during the summer and parking can be a pain when it gets busy.

Pretty good food. The staff are friendly. And theres fast service. Why not go there. My only advice is to get there early on Friday and Saturday evenings, or else youll never get a table.

The lobster roll is delicious, but, $24 for a lobster roll with no sides is very pricey!! Kaitlin is a great waitress, personable, welcoming, a delight!!!

Great lobster roll, and staff was really friendly! They dont have beer but its a byob place so dont forget to bring a cold one to go with your roll.
