I had the worst experience I have ever had at any sushi restaurant was right here! I ordered my food over the phone for to go when I arrive to pick up my food they had given it to someone else. So I had to wait for them to make my food again. While waiting for the food the manager came over to tell me the person that took my order was coming back with my order so I could take that one and that they wouldnt have to make me new food. I told them I still wanted new food that hadnt been taken by anyone else. When I got my food that they re made for me I looked at it briefly and saw that they had given me sushi with what looked like no rice, which when I ordered the sushi I asked for extra rice. the manager just kept explaining to me that it was ok because they didnt charge me for the extra rice that I had originally asked for so it was ok. I took it home and really saw that the sushi in fact actually had absolutely no rice on it at all, when I called the restaurant they said that they did it because they didnt want us to wait longer for the food because they had to make it over again because they had given it away. Which at this point I drove back to the restaurant and dropped off the sushi and got a refund for the disgusting excuses and more than disappointing sushi that was given to me and my family. I strongly encourage everyone to not go to the restaurant especially for to go!!!

I dont know which is better. The food, decor, or experience. I called to make a reservation for 6 for a "babys shower dinner" Saturday night. When we arrived there was a mistake and the reservation was down for 3!!! Of course we were disappointed and I talked with hostess ANITA. She promptly apologized for the confusion, moved the reserved seating arrangements around and accommodated 6 for hibaci without us waiting longer than 5 minutes! People make mistakes, miscommunication happens. Its how Anita resolved it that was impressive! The hibaci dinner (steak and lobster for me! ) was amazing!!! I especially love the rice they fry up and serve scalding hot. Seriously if I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life.....it would be that fried rice!! The experience of hibaci is really fun and interactive too. You get to catch zucchini in your mouth the chef throws at you, and/or saki!! I have to say also that the cocktails are awesome! Highly recommend the Emperor Martini. Pear flavor and has a liquor soaked delicious lychee in the bottom!! Thank-you Nine East for an awesome time. And a big Thank you to Anita for being so accommodating. :)

We stumbled on this restaurant several weeks ago as we were going to their new Karaoke night on Friday nights. The outside is unassuming but when we walked in the decor took our breath away. Classy, clean and serene, we immediately felt the energy and good vibes. Our wait staff was superb, friendly, attentive but not intrusive. So far, so good. We ordered sushi, crab rangoon and a shrimp dish with honey walnuts. I havent had such freshly prepared food since I ate a LOrange in San Francisco. The fried food (shrimp) was succulent,, not heavily breaded, not greasy and no aftertaste as with so many other restaurants, it was served with a light drizzle of a creamy lemon sauce! I asked my server to order me the most popular variety of sushi, it was top notch fresh. I am still craving the shrimp! The crab rangoon was the best that Ive every had! I ordered a Princess Martini (choc) for "dessert". We thoroughly enjoyed the karaoke provided by Leigh Henry Music. We will most certainly be back with friends. Highly recommend!

We thought wed try out this new (Mar 10) place in Branford with our family for Hibachi. We liked it and would go back! Prices were reasonable for Hibachi in the area. The food was very good and the Hibachi show was fun! They have a kids Hibachi menu and Hibachi sides, which was nice, with plenty of options for combos and main dishes. The decor was classy and nice with water features and special lighting. Best part was probably the service - very courteous servers and hosts - opening doors and welcoming us. Its worth a trip off the Branford green to try it.

For upper-end Asian fare, this is the best choice outside of New Haven. Fun drinks, Chinese, Hibachi, sushi and even some Thai entres put this squarely in the "Generalized Asian" category, but it means you can find something for everyones tastes. The decor is pretty fun as well (giant Buddha statue and a koi river running through the middle, anyone?) so theres plenty to look at.

I was not impressed by their hibachi AT ALL! The portions are extremely small. I have always left hibachi restaurants with leftovers for two more meals but I was able to finish the meal here. The hibachi show was minimal and unimpressive as well. They are way overpriced for the amount they give, very disappointing. I would not recommend this restaurant nor will I be returning.

Heard about the restaurant from a friend and decided to take the girlfriend out for a nice dinner. Turned out to be a great time. The portion of food was more than its moneys worth, especially considering the atmosphere of this place. Highly recommended by me if you find yourself in town looking for a nice japanese meal!

Overall: definitely coming back again Saturday night, 6:30pm super busy, no reservation, sat at the bar. Good food, good service, good scorpion bowl. Ordered: Beef negimaki- delicious power house roll- delicious Chicken teriyaki- good but chicken mildly over cooked. Allie the bartender was attentive and friendly

My fiance and I had a craving for sushi so we expect high quality rolls. We went here and the atmosphere is great, the server was quick with service and the sushi itself was fresh. I had an Alaskan king roll and it was fantastic with portion. I will be visiting this place alot more often

The food is so fresh. Great combo between different Asian cuisines. Its a festive environment during the weekend so be ready for some noise and fun. Staff is great, attentive and fun! I would recommend this play everyday! The place also looks wonderful inside.

Love this place. I love the fact that you can have your own favorite plate. I love that you can pick what you want in your fried rice and what you want in your noodles. They do it in front of you. Awesome... ❤

Great food and the hibachi dining experience is a lot of fun. Tip: If you would like to dine at one of their hibachi tables on a Friday or Saturday night, you will need reservations.

Best sushi around! Dont waste your time anywhere else. Awesome selection from the kitchen for those who dont like sushi. Everyone in your party will have a great meal. Even the kids!

Great quality of fish. Definitely on the pricier side, and some of the non hibachi or sushi options are mediocre. Take out sushi from here fairly often.

The sushi here is phenomenal and easily the best in the area. They also do an incredible Hibachi show. Get a reservation if going on the weekend.
