terrific chinese food & service!!! former owner Tan was the tritown & Htd areas favorite chef owner of Ming Dynasty but recently sold his business to a new, younger business woman who i am happy to say has kept his menu and is a good cook herself. the two being friends..you might see Tan come by to help out now and then as he did just last week. We joked with him telling him "youre gonna have to teach Linda how to make sauces just as you did!" We always enjoy the food and drinks at Mings but the service is unique to it too. Tan would visit ea customer to greet and ask how they liked their food then briefly catch up on your personal news and excuse himself saying.."ill let you eat now," with a smile. im happy to share Linda couldnt be sweeter and cant accomodate enough. i tend to like a bit more spice in sauces and always ask for a bit extra tossed in while cooking my lo mein. whether its take out or in restaurant..she makes sure i have just as requested. im thrilled she has become the new owner. after just one visit to Mings new owner chef..she had memorized our names and greeted us the next visit with them. her waitstaff also has a personable and strong command of english language and like Linda will joke and be very friendly. whenever im sick, theres nothing that soothes me more than Mings quart of Won Ton soup. I pour it into the biggest mixing bowl ive got and all my brains endorphins just kick in. i highly recommend you become a regular and if youre feeling like breakfast food...Townline Diner is right next door. A great spot as well and another hardworking female owner.

The Pu Pu platter was delicious. Slightly greasy but made up for it in crunchiness. If Id improve anything itd be the pork rib. One of the few restaurants that offers this platter with the central flame. We also ordered the triple delight, Pearls of Peking. The tsos chicken was crunchy and tender, but some of the vegetables looked and tasted previously frozen. Not terrible quality though, Ive seen worse. The shrimp was slightly fishy, but well seasoned. The restaurant staff were helpful and friendly, and the restaurant itself was very clean. Slightly old timey feel. The fried noodles were also deliciously crunchy. They were whole and thick, unlike most Chinese food restaurants. Id like better tea, but at least this location offers you an entire pot. Overall, a good place to dine, and not incredibly expensive. Decent quiet location, good for intimate dates. Pu Pu platter - $15 Pearls of Peking - $30

So good! This is by far the best place to get Chinese in the area. The owners are very friendly people, and the service is outstanding! There is one guy running the whole floor, taking orders and filling up your water when it gets too low. I was very impressed. The restaurant is clean and decorative. There are plenty of colorful decorative items to look at. I myself enjoy the ship near the front desk. I have been to plenty of Chinese restaurants in my life before, and Ive never been to a place that tops Ming Dynastys sesame chicken, my favorite dish. The others are usually far too crunchy, less meaty, burnt, or just not as appetizing. This place is a bit more pricey than most Chinese restaurants, but as the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for". If youre in the area and crave Chinese food, I recommend stopping by.

I chose this restaurant for my sisters birthday based on the other reviews. We had special won ton soup, which was fairly good - at least it wasnt salty, a common problem. My sisters choice of beef with mushrooms was quite bland, and the beef had the texture of being overtenderized, but the meal was edible. My Kung Pao chicken had to be returned to the kitchen. The "chicken" was mostly gristle and fat. Because I was still hungry after just sharing my sisters meal instead of having a dish of my own, I ordered orange sherbet for dessert. The price was only one dollar - but the quality was correspondingly low. Very artificial tasting - only ate a few spoonfuls.

We have been going to the Ming Dynasty in Rocky Hill for 20 years. The food is always good. My wife and I started going there about 1 month after they opened and my children have grown up eating there. We live 20 minutes (via highway) from the restaurant and it is definitely worth the trip. Our favorites are: Sliced Chicken in Garlic Sauce, Sesame Chicken, Shrimp with Green Beans, Shrimp and Broccoli, Beef and Broccoli, Chicken Lo Mien, Teryaki Beef, and Green Pepper Steak. The Wanton Soup is excellent.

The taste of the food has changed greatly with the new owners. The Hot and Sour soup is bland and not at all spicy. The chicken in garlic sauce is also now very bland and not spicy as advertised. The Pad Thai seems okay, though. We were regular patrons of the restaurant under the previous owners but are quite disappointed with the food that comes out of the kitchen now.

Ordered dinner last night. General tous 12 dollars a person for me and my husband. Came with one side of rice to share and nothing else. Awful. No broccoli nothing for 2 people. Flavorless nasty chicken. No egg Rolls. worst 25 dollars I ever spent. Place is not the same at all.

5 ***** Great Experience Overall! First Visit was Very Impressed as Staff were Very Welcoming and Attentive. Food Is Reasonably Priced and The Key to a Good Restaurant is Not Leaving Hungry. Very Generous Portions to say the least. Definitely Recommend and Return!

Love their food. House special fried rice, crab rangoons, and house special love mein are my favorites. Their pad Thai is pretty solid as well. The inside of the restaurant is a bit dated, but I kind of like that. Owners are great people too.

Extremely fair prices for the lunch specials. The staff is very kind and friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxing. Complementary tea and noodles are always nice, and the service is quick and precise. My favorite chinese in Rocky Hill by far.

When we want a sit down Chinese meal this is the place we go. They perfectly fry items like egg rolls. Every dish I have there tastes great. The servers are always nice and they really take care of you.

As always Ming Dynasty is a home run. They gave my kids free chicken fingers to hold them over till the meal arrived. The food was great so was the service. Enjoy!

Always friendly service and very good food at reasonable prices. Great place to sit and enjoy a meal and Chinese beer. Tons of people use the take out service too.
