The Egg & I is my familys favorite breakfast restaurant in Lakewood. We have tried them all and consistently come back to the Egg and I because of the food quality and the friendliness of the staff. My two little boys love the service here as well as the giant chocolate chip pancake breakfast. They can get a bit busy on Saturday and Sunday with up to a 30 or even 45 minute wait. However, it is worth it, as their food is much better than the competition. We also really like Dannys Carnation restaurant on Wadsworth comma about a mile north of The Egg & I. The Egg & I is a bit more upscale, though I do like Carnations corned beef better. The Egg and I always has a seasonal menu with yummy options on it. Right now, fall 2017, they have a sweet potato hash with fried eggs and hollandaise sauce that is simply delicious. The coffee here is better than average as well. Not quite as good as what they serve at the French Press in Belmar, but the French Press isnt a good place to bring little kids. If you are looking for breakfast in Lakewood, you cant do much better than The Egg & I, especially if you are bringing a family. If there is just a few of you, check out the French Press as well. Also check out Dannys Carnation restaurant.

This place used to be a nice, clean restaurant. I was a regular until recently. Two weeks ago I went for breakfast and not only had to put up with a server who was rushing me (@ 7am with restaurant almost empty!) while making my order, but when my food arrived it came with a hair in my eggs. Stopped eating, notified manager, still paid for breakfast. Next weekend, came again at 7am, ordered same dish, this time found what seemed like a dead bug. Notified manager, she claimed it was "probably" just an avocado pit without even taking a proper look-I took a picture and will let the Health Department decide what the hell it is.

My mom, brother and nephew ate at this restaurant on Friday, April 15th, and a waitress, when pouring my moms coffee, ended up pouring a lot of it down my moms back. Fortunately, a retired nurse went to the bathroom with my mom in order to see if the hot coffee was blistering her skin. No employee at the restaurant checked to be sure my mom was okay, and when my mom went to pay, she told the cashier about the coffee being poured down her back. The cashier *generously* gave a senior discount to all three in the party (two were seniors, anyway). Not impressive at all.

Clean and friendly environment. I came in alone (party of 1) and it took longer than it should have to get my name on the waiting list HOWEVER the service at my table was prompt, friendly and appropriately attentive especially since it was super busy! Coffee was hot and it was nice to have my own canister at the table. Food came fresh as ordered in a timely manner. Overall a great place and wonderful selection with friendly staff... I will definitely be coming back!

I come to Denver about twice a year and have been going to this Egg & I since 2007. Not once have I had bad food or unfriendly servers. Today I tried a new menu item called the Tuscan Scramble which has basil and avocado mixed in it. It was awesome! Something else I love is there are folks that have been here for years and it is always a joy to catch up on how they are doing. Give it a try! Great coffee and very tasty breakfast items!!!!

“Awesome experience” This is a great option in downtown Denver. The dinner was one of the wehave had anywhere. We had a Wedge salad, filet , mashed potatoes, green beans and creme brûlée. The wedge was not too large but just right. The bacon bits where perfect. I understand the bacon is from a special family farm in Wisconsin.

I had never been to this place, and was a bit skeptical of it upon initial entry. (It looked a bit like every other breakfast place.) Boy was I surprised, the coffee, tea, and food is amazing. If youre hungry, order the Green Chilli Chicken Hash! This is a perfect breakfast option, IMO and kept me full for 6 hours of hiking.

Earned two stars due to clean restaurant and good service (and good apple cinnamon pancake), but lost three stars due to powdered scrambled eggs. Ive camped enough times to recognize powdered eggs when I see them. Tasting them verified it. Thats a MAJOR no no. Might as well change name of restaurant to Fake Egg and I.

Fantastic breakfast spot, the wait staff has always been friendly and not overbearing. The menu has everything from traditional pancake and egg breakfasts to skillets, of which I highly recommend the Texas Skillet (my favorite). Pricing is in line with other breakfast destinations, so give them try.

Ive been to 5 different Egg and I locations (Belmar and Broomfield most often) and every one of them has been excellent. Im a huge fan of fresh ingredients cooked well. The coffee is actually decent compared to most diner swill. Only wish I could get a mimosa or bloody mary at one...

First time I ate here. It was delicious! I got the hikers Benedict and my wife got the pineapple pancake. They were both great. Service was also great. I cant think of a negative. I suppose the prices could have been a little less. Ill definitely be back!

Good food, poor service. Just today, I was refused a booth (even though there were plenty available) because the receptionist want to "balance the tables among the waitress). Poor excuse for lazy behavior. I will never go back there again.

Friendly staff, very busy morning breakfast spot. Wait can be kind of long especially if your flying solo. Good eats and be patient its worth it! Try the California Alvacado Toast with egg whites and a side and bacon, really liked it.

We ate at The Egg and I in Colorado Springs and loved it, and this one is just as good. The service and food are always great. My husband loves the eggs benedict, and their hazelnut coffee is delicious.

The name is The Egg & I... Kind of misleads because they serve powdered eggs!! While they charge a ridicules price at $30 for two people the fake eggs is a reason enough not to waste your time.

We have eaten at several Egg & I restaurants. This one was one of the best. Very clean. Service was very friendly. We recommend it highly. There was no bad odor when we ate there today.

The good was alright, the atmosphere feels kind of old-timey. Lots of older folks go here. Not the best brunch I have had, but it was pretty good. Had the eggs Benedict.

We shared the white pizza it was good. The different types of bread they passed around were good. The gnocchi was good. All the food was a little salty.
