I doubt that "rude young man" still works at Tenn Street. I cant say anything about 1.5 years ago, but these days the baristas at Tenn Street are extremely friendly. They seem to know the locals on a personal level and definitely dont mind chatting it up a bit with customers. I like the laidback atmosphere at Tenn Street. Theres usually a nice hum of conversation and activity in the afternoons -- just the way I like it. Sometimes the live music draws a larger crowd. My choice seats are either on the patio or at the tables by the huge windows. Both offer great vantage points for people watching. But whether youre looking for a place to study or a place to lounge with friends, Tenn Streets a good bet. (For a refreshing summer drink, go for the fruit smoothies.)

Im a freelance writer and I do most of my work at Tenn Street Coffee because its relatively quiet, clean and well-lit. Free wi-fi is great, and its a fairly uncommon sight to actually see a row of computers for customer use. Very good coffee and delicious smoothies, perfect to keep your work day going. I browse the bookshelves on my breaks. Rotating art keeps the walls fresh, too. All that aside, the baristas are pretty cute, too. Simply a great local coffee shop in the Highlands.

Average little hipster spot for coffee. Nothing special on the menu but sitting outside was nice. The guy that helped us on fire running around cleaning and fixing stuff. It was almost uncomfortable to watch this guy literally hustle around. Craziest thing - we were asked to leave at 5 because they were closings. We hung around for a few moments to chat outside and guess what........they didnt really close but a bunch of hippie hipsters walk in for who knows what.

Tenn St. has been my coffee shop of choice for several years. I can write there, enjoy the always-eclectic music, the art displays, have breakfast or lunch, excellent lattes or cappuccinos. Robert is a fine host and the staff are welcoming and efficient, the book selections interesting. I recommend it highly.

Love the atmosphere, the books, the live music, and that it is within walking distance of our apartment! However, were big espresso fans and the espresso here most usually ends up tasting too bright and sharp instead of dark and smooth, and they give you all drinks in a paper cup (hence my 3 stars).

Tenn Street is a wonderful locally owned coffee shop that hosts live music and has monthly art shows focused on Denver artists. The drinks and service are consistently excellent and its also fairly priced. Free wifi. Love this spot, frequently come to telecommute when I need to get out.

Like other reviewers, I find the servers to be surly and act as if my order is an inconvenience to them. I also find their lattes absolutely terrible. I go across the street to Parisi for a better cup, and The Hole for equally good coffee, excellent service and free wifi!

This is a nice coffee shop in a very convenient location. I like the coffee. Its nice that they have Udis sandwiches - a quality local option for a nice snack or lunch! The atmosphere is Denver Hipster with a little psychedelic flare thrown in for good measure!!!

I go here at least once or twice per week for a coffee fix (and also a bagel or pumpkin bread!) The staff is so nice and welcoming. Its also a great place for a quick business meeting-- lots of little tables in nooks so you can have a private chat.

They offer gluten free treats. Yay!! The GF pumpkin bread was really good. Had the mandarin orange cinnamon tea and it was very good also. They had live music going on a Friday night that was tasteful and not too loud. Very fun. Will come back.

The perfect, family friendly, local coffee shop. The type of place where everyone knows your name and you can catch open mic night on Friday. Catch up with a mommy group or knitting circle. The heart on the Berkeley Neighborhood.

I love the coffee shop / used book store combo. And despite other reviewers comments otherwise, Ive found the service to be nothing short of friendly. Its a little stuffy inside in the summer, else Id give it 5-stars.

I had a horrible experience at this place and will never go back. The people they have working there need a lesson in customer service. There are too many coffee places to mess around with this joke of a place.

Cant quite decide. I have been here numerous times and sometimes the staff is friendly and the lattes good, other times, not good. Maybe it depends on the barista? Atmosphere is fun though.

Youre provided a comfy place to relax and drink great coffee. Tucked onto the edge onlf Tennyson, its part of the community with occasional live music. They provide food too.

Lovely tree shaded patio with several tables. Most of the books are hardbound, but they are organized. The coffee is Dazbog, and they make a nice mocha.
