My wife and I went here on 5/20/2017. We ordered lambs shoulder and brisket. We also had the grits and cilantro coleslaw sides. There was also pepper cornbread and we had the caramelized banana pudding and the peach upside down cake for dessert. The lambs shoulder was pretty good. The brisket however was dry and there was no indication of smoke. It could have come out of a crock pot or oven for all I know. We did eat there around 3 PM on a Saturday, so its possible we were getting end of day BBQ. Next time I come though, I do want to try the ribs or pulled pork. From what I hear, their ribs run out pretty quick which is usually a good sign. The cilantro coleslaw was very good -- it truly had a southwestern flavor. The grits were a little *too* creamy without much seasoning but not bad. I would think most people would like them. The cornbread was a little dry but they also have this strawberry-jalapeno jam that you can put on them. The jam really improved the cornbread! The banana pudding was pretty good. The peach upside cake is very similar to the Texas take on peach cobbler -- cinnamon on baked peaches. Not bad but it was a little dry. The service here is friendly and the price is about what you would expect these days. BBQ is not cheap. You can tell these guys do care about their craft but I feel like in Colorado, the brisket has got to be spot on. I will come back again for sure and would tell anyone to give it a try. To me, this place does not deserve a 4.9 rating but maybe low 4s.

Simply Amazing! I had the Beef Brisket and it was epic! THIS WAS THE SECOND BEST BRISKET I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. The number one spot goes to Rudy’s BBQ in Houston, TX. Pros: They asked me how I like my brisket. This is a sign you’re at a place that knows what they’re doing. Personally, I like mine with lots of fat. That’s where all the flavor is located. Their brisket had a nice bark ( or curst ) on it and as soon as you take a bite, it all just melts in your mouth, releasing the hours and hours of slow cooked goodness. 5/5 stars for sure!!!! Things I could have done without: The bag containing my brisket was sitting on the passenger seat and was in my car for about 40 minutes. When I got home, I found the grease and juices leaked completely through the bag and all over the perforated leather seat. So if you get the same paper bag, you might want to place it on the rubber side of your car mat. They gave me two sides of their bbq sauce, which upon opening squirted out from the container. I believe this is partly due to the design of the plastic lids. I noticed on the second container, even when opening it from the sides, the center of the lid presses downward, which in return pushes on the sauce making it squirt out…Fortunately, it all got on my table. The sauce was ok but with how AMAZING my brisket was, the sauce would have just ruined it.

Living in Kansas City and having access to some of the best BBQ one can find typically causes my out of town restaurant searches to avoid BBQ. With that said, I decided to try out the new Roaming Buffalo in South Denver by Chef Coy Web-- and man I am glad that I did. Chef Web has used his past experience in fine dining and his love and passion for BBQ to create a menu worthy of top restaurants around the country. The meats were smoked to perfection and wrapped in a flavorful crust that only the best BBQ owns. I will never look at a sausage the same after enjoying the jalapeno cheddar which began with a sweet flavor and ended with a comfortable spice. I have yet to come across another BBQ restaurant who serves local pulled lamb shoulder, and has done so with near perfection. BBQ bean lovers will not be disappointed with Chef Webs take on the traditional flavors enjoyed by cowboys decades ago. It almost seems a shame to baste any sauce upon Chef Webs meats, yet these sauces made in house, are made to compliment not mask the flavors within the meat. If you are in the Denver area or are simply driving through to the mountains, this BBQ joint is a must stop!

Amazing BBQ that needs no sauce! Sauce only enhances the flavor profiles present in the rub/bark. If you dont try the Bison ribs and fat side Brisket, youre doing yourself a disservice and you suck at life. If Im within 2 hours if this place Im making a special trip, thats how amazing this BBQ is. I travel the U.S. for work and taste BBQ all over the country and there is only one other spot that compares to Roaming and thats Tookes Country BBQ in Georgia. Different cuts of meat but they are experts at their craft. Other than that, no need to stop any where else in Colorado besides Roaming for all your BBQ needs and wants. Meat always tender, flavorful, slides off the bone and perfectly smoked. Be warned, bison ribs and their traditional sauce = food coma.

The 4.9 average rating that Roaming Buffalo is is currently carrying really doesnt do it justice.... yes, its that good. I tried several BBQ places around Denver and had just about given up the hope of finding anything that was really a stand out to me. Then one day about a year ago, while driving down Downing, I saw a neon "Sold Out" sign in a store front. "Wait, is that a BBQ place?! Could this finally be the one?" The answer is yes, a thousand times yes. I wont even bother describing the food, you just need to come experience it for yourself. When my roommates and I have any guests in town, this is the one restaurant you can be sure we will take literally everyone.

great tasting bbq.... pulled lamb was my fav.... but their chopped pork and beef brisket were both awesome too.... both sauces taste great.... Service was nice and friendly. Will return again really soon. The price was really great.... I thought it was a great value - ive paid much more for worse bbq in denver.... its abou t as close to texas style bbq as youre going to find in denver. The girl who helped me was super nice and genuinely took an interest in what he thought of the food and our experience. My idea/suggestion to her was to offer a cracked egg over the top of some of their briskets and also green chile sauce to add to the traditional varieties.

Utterly mind blowing-ly delicious! Everything is made from scratch by the incredibly kind and hospitable owners. High quality ingredients, locally sourced meat, original recipes...they are doing everything right, in my opinion. We tried the sloppy joe & the lamb shank, and the meat was so tender, juicy & flavorful. Side offerings such as the house made white cheddar green chili potato chips are very unique and really set these guys apart in a league of their own. I hope they are around for a long time - I need to work my way through their amazing menu!

Drove all the way from Broomfield based on the reviews. Thought 50 plus reviews with a 4.9 rating must be good. Boy o Boy was I wrong. Should have turned around when they told me they didnt serve sweet tea. Come on man. His Bison short Rib was inedible couldnt even get it off the bone. It was so tough and chewy I gave up after the first bite. The brisket was average at best. There were two runny sauces to choose from hot and mild nothing special there either. Serving size was below average for a BBQ joint. Overall two stars because i didnt get sick.
