Ive been going to New Orient with my family for a couple of decades and the food has always been phenomenal. Meals are served family style and their rotating list of specials is definitely where you should start looking for your choice of dishes. Here youll find a mixture of old favorites (try the Honey Sesame Halibut) and fresh creations. Seafood is a specialty but that shouldnt dissuade you from dishes like the Two Mushroom Beef Tenderloin, one of the most flavorful and tender preparations of beef Ive had. The specials currently available will change but anything you see will not disappoint. Another must try is the lobster dinner special. Youll have to call ahead to see when this special will be available to reserve your lobster but this is a meal that merits making the time for. This preparation of deep fried lobster is the BEST lobster Ive ever had. Fried in-shell, with a very light batter, and served pre-cracked youll find yourself sucking on the shell in order to get every last bit of the wonderful flavors infusing the dish. This is no ordinary lobster dinner. The dinning area is small, but the inviting ambiance makes for an enjoyable dinning experience. The staff is wonderful and youll likely be greeted by the restaurants owner and head chef at some point during your meal, making sure everything is to your liking. This small restaurant in a strip mall is easy to miss but the fresh ingredients coupled with excellent preparation of creative and flavorful dishes has made New Orient a favorite for my family for over twenty years.

Wow, pleasantly surprised with my recent dining experience here! I rarely write reviews, but this was one of the best dinners I have had this year. The food was absolutely delicious, my date and I shared the appetizer platter as well as the sea food bowl. We enjoyed both so much, we ended up ordering more and got the beef kebab, which the owner was kind enough to demonstrate how to roll our own spring rolls with. We had never made our own rolls before with rice paper, and had a great time learning from the owner! You can tell she is very passionate about her restaurant. When we were finished, the chef brought out dessert and made sure we enjoyed everything. I would give 6 stars if I could; I was just so blown away by the quality of service and fantastic food! This place needs more love!

Dont know why I havent been back more often. 1 of first Vietnamese restaurants in Denver. First came in 80s. Traditional and not so traditional dishes. My wife wanted an entree of traditional rice paper with grilled pork, cilantro, lettuce, noodles, cucumber with fish sauce that you wrap yourself but was it was only on menu as small appetizer pre-done. They created entree for us and she was a happy Birthday Girl! I had stir fried salmon with basil and mango which was excellent and loaded with fish. Very personable and friendly staff. They gave us (unasked) fried bananas with mango ice cream for dessert for the birthday celebration! Be back soon and remind our friends about it.

Not what I expected. Way overpriced. $19.45 for just one entrée. Didnt tell me the price over the phone after I placed the order. I asked to make it spicy, and they wrote "extra, extra hot" on the ticket. I was afraid it would be so hot, I wont be able to eat it. Well, turned out it was about as spicy as ketchup, and that was /with/ the extra hot sauce I got on the side! That said, the food was decent, but far from the best Ive ever had. Definitely not worth the money.

Dont listen to the complainers. This place is amazing. The sesame halibut is to die for. Soft shell crab and imperial rolls are some of the best youll ever have. Their food is consistently yummy, worth every penny and the service might be a bit slow because its mom and pop but Ive never had that problem in the 15 years Ive gone to this place. One of Auroras best.

This restaurant has been around for more than 30 years. It is one of the first Vietnamese eateries in Denver. The dishes are good. Special Chef dish every weekend. Good price for both lunch and dinner.

I went this past week and was not disappointed. Fresh seafood dishes, great service, and not too busy during the week at dinner hour. I was very impressed and plan on going again soon!

It was good, dont get me wrong. But the service was slow. And the pork inmy noodle bowl was dry - really dry. We willcontinue to go. But the food was not stellar.
