This was the worst resturant experience I have ever had!!! I would not recommed it to anyone. They definately have no idea how to run a restuarant and need major help from Gordon Ramsey. I called over a month ahead to make Valentine day reservations and they told me at the time they would call me back with the specials. I told them I really didnt care I just wanted to make a reservation regardless. Anyway I called on 2/9 to verify my reservation and check on the specials and was told they had decided not to do any specials nor were they accepting reservations. For some unknown reason we still went although I was a bit hesitant. When we got there we probably waited a minimum of 25 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. There were 9 open tables, no hostess. We sat down and it took our waiter another 25 minutes to get over to our table at which time we were ready to order. He proceeded to tell us they just decided that every person at the table had to order soup as well as a salad as well as a appetizer along with an entree. We were a little reluctant but whatever. Then our waiter brought us a handful of greens with a few pieces of shredded cheese. When my sister in law asked what was in the salad as she has an allergic reaction to some stuff he asked what was it that she was allergic to. He said well what is it you are allergic to, we asked if there was salad dressing and he told her if she wanted some she would need to go up to the salad bar and get it herself WHAT?? am I not being forced to pay $6.00 for the salad to begin with. When my brother in law asked for a rum and coke the waiter turned around and said they only serve the drinks that are on the menu that he didnt know if they carried rum. WOW!! There appeared to be no management. The waiter was rude, the staff was slow as hell, you would think it was their first day in business. We ended up leaving and never plan on returning. What a disappointment. They have no idea how a resturant should be ran. Terrible, terrible terrible and we werent the only ones leaving. The people they sat after us left at the same time we did. Took us an hour and a half to get a glass of water again when we walked in there were 9 open tables and we were second on the list. This place will be out of business in no time if they dont get some help from Gordan Ramsey. Looks nice and was told the food was good but we never got that far due to the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Pass and enjoy a good meal someplace else.

If there were an option to give zero stars I would. First thing is first, we went there tonight on Valentines day 2015. We called ahead of time to get a reservation and were told that they do not take reservations on this day to ensure that everyone gets in and has a lovely experience. When we got there we were told the there would be a 10 minute wait and that we could wait at the bar. While waiting we ordered drinks and they took 15 minutes to make one cocktail and pour a beer. There were only 2 other people sitting at the bar. After we had been waiting for over half an hour I noticed that many other people had come in after us and been seated, when we asked the hostess about this they admitted that they forgot about us. Finally we got seated and ordered a Calamari and two salads.THEN the waiter forgot about us and waited a good 20 minutes to come back and take our dinner orders!! The salad tasted like a salad you get from 7-11 and when the Calamari finally came out it was super chewy, rubbery and had a funky after taste. We order Calamari almost everywhere we go so we know good calamari and it was clear that this was not fresh and that it was pre-fozen processed calamari that they just threw in the fryer. Our entrees came out a good 45 minutes after that, they were slightly better then that garbage they call Calamari but not by much, I got the Lobster Roll which was a joke especially for $16 and the crappiest fries I have ever tasted. My boyfriend got the blue-crab po-boy sandwich and it was clear that the crab was not fresh. When visiting this restaurant they state on the menu that the food takes a long time to prepare because of its large portions and fresh quality ingredients made with passion and soul. This claim is a flat out lie, it was clear the they were understaffed and blamed long wait times on the "quality of food" also the portions were small and measly. English Dockside Seafood-Grill is a step below Long John Silvers and I probably would have had a more satisfying dinner there, getting fast food seafood, then I did at English Dockside Seafood-Grill.

When we entered we were greeted by our waitress. She asked if we wanted to eat on the patio... It was a nice evening, so we said yes. We walked through a dark hallway, passing by the open dirty bathrooms to what looked like an area not open to the public, with a bag of trash that was forgotten in the corner. It looked like they were in the middle of getting the back patio ready for the summer and just said, eh, good enough. We were the only people who chose to eat outside, so it had a somewhat abandoned feel. I ordered the lemonade and my wife ordered the iced tea. They were both waaay over sugared. I sent mine back and opted for water after I asked for a soda and the waitress said she would need to check with the kitchen to see if they had CO2. We were told oysters by the bay and oysters on a half shell were the same thing even though its on the menu as two separate appatizers. The crab claws were good. Just a very small portion for the price. I ordered the fish and chips. It was over seasoned, and I think one of the three filets may have just started to turn before they threw it in the frier. The po boy portion is pretty big, but on the soggy side. The bread just kind of mushed apart. Service was poor. The waitress seemed afraid to wait on us, and after being there for two hours we had to get up and go to the front of the restaurant to get our check. The outside seemed to be a place where staff felt comfortable enough to be able to act as though they were in the kitchen out of customers view, unprofessional. I highly recommend that you continue your search for a higher quality restaurant.

Awful, absolutely awful. My wife and I had made reservations for 630, thinking that it would probably be busy on Valentines Day weekend. Not at all. When we got there, there were about 6 or 7 open tables, and it didnt look very busy at all. So, we were thinking that service would probably be pretty quick. Nope. We still sat at our table for over 20 minutes before someone even came to take our drink orders, and we also put in an order for an appetizer. Fast forward to 45 minutes in, still no appetizer, just our drinks. We ordered the fried calamari, and theres no way it takes almost 25 minutes to cook. After we had been there for over an hour, we got our food. My wife ordered the fried cod po boy, and I got the crab cakes. I also ordered some clam chowder but never received it. The food was HORRIBLE. The crab cakes were bland, as well as overcooked, the blue crab sauce was completely tasteless, and the rice was bland as well. My wifes experience was quite the opposite. Each piece of cod in my wifes sandwich was absolutely covered in creole seasoning, as well as the fries. All of it was inedible. I know that I shouldnt expect the greatest seafood in the world in a landlocked state, but if youre going to market yourself as a restaurant that serves real, fresh seafood, at least know how to cook it. Being from the East Coast, I know what seafood is supposed to taste like, and it certainly wasnt up to par. We barely touched our food, but the waiter didnt offer to take anything off of our bill. Straight up garbage. We will never be back and I encourage anyone considering this place to stay very far away.
