I went to JJs late at night with a small group. The top 10 nearest Chinese places to me were all closed. The fact they are open late is enough for a positive review. If you dine in, you get house soup and a dessert. Everyone was happy with what they got, and the prices were great. If I were to offer a bit of criticism, it would be about the smell. Most of the resturant smells like a fish tank. Its probably because they have such a large variety of fresh fish in tanks at the door. Its not overpowering, and I quickly forgot about it by the time my food arrived (what was quite fast). Its probably unavoidable given the fresh fish, but if your very sensitive to that sort of thing its something to be aware if. Overall a pleasant experience, and I will likely be back.

If youre looking for authentic Chinese food, this is your place. We all spend so much time at the "dime a dozen" Chinese places, and we forget that were eating an Americanized version of Asian food. Think of an authentic Mexican restaurant and then think of Taco Bell. Thats the same comparison. JJ Chinese is a place to try something new. Get a little crazy. See something interesting in the fish tanks? Get it! If youre not that adventurous, try their version of the stuff you usually get at the neighborhood Chinese place. Youll be amazed at the difference and how good it is at JJ Chinese.

Good food. It is for people who want true Chinese food and not generic Sweet and Sour Pork or Almond Chicken. This is much better true Asian food. However, the service is typical service you see in an Asian restaurant. They never checked on me, never filled up my water and the owner was just sitting up front on her tablet ten feet away from me, not caring about providing good service. Also, they charge extra for rice so the food is almost a five star but the service and extra charge for rice brings my rating down to three stars. It was an average experience..

Food was okay at best but what was really upsetting was the fact that I was charged an extra $1 for a tip and when I called back to dispute it the lady laughed at me and told me I could come in and have it charged back on my credit card. I have worked in restaurants and know this is not the only way to handle a situation especially seeings how driving to the establishment from Thornton is not worth the dollar but I wouldnt go back there or advise anyone else. I have sense disputed it with my bank and they took care of it right away.

I was lucky to only wait 10 minutes for a seat! This place is justifiably popular.Cash only, old-world Denver, CO atmosphere, and fantastic dishes.Started off a glass of Avignon Blanca and a small order of the off-menu mishmash, which was positively buttery.Next was a Combination Cocktail, which included a huge variety of seafood. Finally,I got a bowl of Clam Chowder my least favorite dish of the meal and a half-dozen clams of various kinds. I would definitely come back here, and better yet, bring friends who were new to Denver, CO !

JJ is no longer in business. We ate at the restaurant currently occupying the same location as JJ used to - very disappointing. The food was not anywhere near what I would call good Chinese fare. I have eaten good Chinese food in San Francisco, New York, London, Hong Kong and Calcutta [Kolkata]. I know what it should taste like. This aint it. The wait staff were friendly enough but we had to ask for silverware, Plates to eat on, serving spoons ... Most important, though, the food was not tasty enough.

Worst Chinese weve ever had. Ordered the hot and sour soup, kung pao chicken, and "Shrimp and Chicken Fried Rice with Creamy and Tomato Sauce" for delivery. It took over an hour for us to get our food. The chicken was old, the soup was disgustingly salty, the fried rice had exactly one shrimp in it and scallops (maybe?) instead of chicken, and the "tomato sauce" was mainly corn syrup and red food coloring. Best thing I can say about it is that it didnt literally make us sick.

Gross sums it up. The place smells like a fish aquarium that hasnt had its water changed in months. Had the hit n sour soup which had an egg swished thru- but not all the way and there was a large blob of UNCOOKED egg stuffed in the middle of the bowl. Kung Pao chicken was worse and it looked like there were bits of stove top or wok left over burnt/gooey ends mixed in. I really cant believe this place is open.

If you like "real" Chinese food, this is the place for you. Service was fairly quick, most things are not precooked. The hot and sour soup was great, we enjoyed all of dishes we ordered. You will notice 2 Chinese language newspapers in their entrance. Prices were reasonable. Highly recommended, our check was in Chinese and we were probably the only customers who could not read it.

Very traditional, not Americanized, hole-in-the-wall Cantonese restaurant. Chinese-style service means you will have to get the waiters attention for ordering and water refills, and dont feel bad about needing to do so. If youre up for adventurous food, try their chilled beef tendon appetizer, seared radish cakes in XO sauce, and pork blood curds with chives.

The food is always great here. They have dim sum, but it must be ordered, rather than seeing what the carts bring. They have live seafood tanks and sell a lot of whole fish, lobster and crab. It is an extensive menu and includes some American dishes. The place seems pretty authentic and seems like an insiders place.

This is one of the worst Chinese locations. Dirty cups and plates. Sanitation is not up to date. Their food is very poor quality. I even took pictures of the dishes cause I couldnt believe it. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone especially wanting meat or seafood in there dish. Mine wasnt even completely cooked.

Best sesame chicken in Denver!! Fabulous special menu deal after 9:30 pm and fun wait staff (except the grumpy one!). This is a legit chinese restaurant with live fish and lots of authentic menu items, like bamboo fungus and cow stomach "honeycomb". Get past that and its all delish! Our favorite chinese in Denver!

The food here was the best authentic and exotic Chinese I had found in Denver. I took my family here when they visited from out of town. Sadly, my favorite Cantonese restaurant has CLOSED ITS DOORS. New owners are replacing it with "Yummy Szechuan"

Really authentic Chinese dishes! There are live seafood in tanks by the door and it can be a nasty odor. I like the hot pot specials and their stir fried lobster with ginger and scallions. Service can be a hit or miss. The decor is atrocious.

First, when you enter the restaurant, you will be greeted by tanks of fish. The food is authentic Taiwanese food and the restaurant is a lovely place to have dinner. Be sure to fill up on rice, as it is refillable.
