Years ago, this was one of the best restaurants around. I remember getting the lobster stuffed ravioli with colossal scallops on top--while expensive, this dish was amazing and one that I would return for. Unfortunately, it hasnt been on the menu for many years. We wanted to catch up with relatives from Parker and suggested Siena for our Friday night dinner... While the atmosphere is always a pleasure (great lighting and quiet), the food left me unimpressed and I doubt Ill be going back. I ordered the "pan roasted scallops"...there were about 5 scallops about an inch in diameter and they were so overcooked, dry and luke warm, it was sad. Truly a rip off for $29. This made me wonder if Siena has an actual chef or just a line of cooks who dont really know what they are doing and arent being held to any real standards. Ive lived in CR for 7 years and Ive dined here probably 20-25 times. Siena has been up and down in my experience...either the food is good and the service is bad or vice versa. This time, our waiter was great and respectful of us taking our time enjoying conversation, drinks, appetizers and entrees... but unfortunately the food was not good enough to make it worth coming back and paying those prices. I have given this place so many opportunities to be consistent but it has not been....As Castle Rock grows and more restaurants come in, Siena is going to need to step up its game and get a manager and chef who really care about reputation. In all of the years Ive been going, I dont ever recall being greeted by a manager at the hostess counter, Ive never had anyone introduce themselves as a manager and ask how everything is, etc...This is common practice in the restaurant industry in my experience and there is obviously a reason for it. Feedback is important for any business! Siena feels like it lacks supervision. In my opinion, if it werent for the location and atmosphere, this restaurant would not have survived due to the lack of consistency.

Awful waiter for an awful experience. Thanks Nicholas C. Hostess at the front didnt greet my wife and I, just starred at us until we approached the desk and she said "2?" My wife and I said yes and she walked us to our table. Waiter didnt introduce himself and said hed give us a moment to let us order drinks and walked away before we could say we were ready. I started timing him after it had been a while, and it was 8 minutes after began keeping time before he came back to take our drink order. We placed that and our entrée order. A minute later our bread came out, and 30 seconds after our bread, our entrées came out. The waiter placed the bread and some sort of dipping oil on our table and walked away. Dipping oil was good, but no idea what it is since he didnt say anything. Our entrées were room temperature, and by the time we got to them, they were cold. I enjoyed my eggplant.. Ive had better for cheaper, but it was good. My wifes spaghetti tasted like Spagetti-Os. My wife went to the restroom before leaving and heard the waiter using profanities talking to his co-workers. And to top it off, no one at the front desk to give a fake "have a good night." Never coming back here.

We visited an hour and half before the starlight started. We sat outside and to my surprise were forced to share a table with a large group as a "community table" normally I dont mind at all but I was not informed of the community table ahead of time and the kids from the large party spilled an entire glass of water on my daughter shortly after sitting down. The waitress did absolutely nothing when this happened and was annoyed when I asked for additional napkins. I ordered pizza and spaghetti for my daughter. The order took way to long and the spaghetti was spicy so my daughter couldnt eat it. After I sent back the spaghetti the waitress disappeared for so long that we almost missed the starlight. Annoyed I had to go up to the front to ask for my check, the hostesses were EXTREMELY rude. Clearly high school "popular" girls that think they are much better than their job. The host had the nerve to tell me I was being impatient after 1.5 hours of sitting with bad service. I told her its unacceptable and she then replied "no one forced you to come here". Unacceptable service, unacceptable rude staff. This is a cute small town- go else where.

I agree that this restaurant has some of the ingredients to be great but sadly it lacks the most essential; good food and friendly service. I want to talk about service first. Just to get it out there that it was not bad service but it was not service you would expect from a smallish town restaurant. They were fairly busy, but a smile now and then and a little warmth from staff members would go a long way. Food. High prices give me high expectations and I was very disappointed. I ordered the Clam Linguini in a white wine sauce $17.50, it came out over cooked and under seasoned and Im sure the clams came from a can. I would just expect more for that price. Salad is separate at $8.50 and I was not crazy about blue cheese on my Caesar, but it was otherwise good. We also ordered Duck. It was very tender but it was smothered in a sweet chutney that overpowered the duck and the duck was pretty greasy. It came with a few fried potatoes, the best part of both meals. I cant say I hated it (1 star). If someone wanted to meet me for a happy hour there I may go, but I will not have dinner there again.

We have been to this restaurant many times (maybe 25-30?) and it is always amazing to me that no one shows any recognition at all, ever. Not even a fake, "nice to see you again". I go with my sister and our 91 (!) year old mother who usually orders a shot of tequilla, so not an easy group to forget. Literally for awhile we were in there once a week. We usually arrive about 4:50pm and very rarely does anyone look up when we walk in the door, and if they do the comment we always get is, ...we dont serve dinner until 5pm... and then they look away again or appear totally disinterested. Not one time has anyone said, ...we dont serve dinner until 5pm but our bar is open, would you like to have a cocktail while you wait?... There are so many more restaurants that really appreciate our business, and we now spend our once a week night out at those places.

My wife and I went here for a date and chance to support a local restaurant. She had the Tuscan Rellenos ($8.50) and Siena Caesar ($8.50), and I had the Spicy 3 Meat pizza ($13.25). Both of us had the Malbec wine for the affordable Happy Hour price of $5 per glass. We placed our reservation for 6:15pm via OpenTable and were seated promptly. Our server quickly took our drink order to make the 6:30pm Happy Hour cut-off time. All our food tasted great, but my wife raved about Siena Caesar. She loved the authentic flavor of the dressing and ingredients. The pizza was very good, too. The restaurant layout was very open, and my wife liked the interior decorating. The feel of downtown Castle Rock also provided a nice touch. Wed definitely come back here again, if for nothing else, for my wifes eventual craving for the Siena Caesar.
