Went to visit family and try some skiing in Colorado. My cousins told us about this place and how good the food is. Being from a Hispanic background and having a mother and a wife who cook excellent Mexican food, not a lot of places impress me. Im this case I was very surprised. La Costa Mexican restaurant offers truly authentic and delicious Mexican food. Our 1 st days at this location. ( yes we went back for more). I tried the breakfast skillet. It was great. 2 eggs sitting on top of this delicious guizo de carne was very good. Well cooked and nicely seasoned. 2 Nd day I tried the Mexican and more traditional plate with tamales enchiladas and ( my mouth is watery just remembering the tastes). Yes. It was good. Our last visit I went with camarones a la diabla. Again, well cooked, shrimp was fresh and not overcooked which is easy to do with this type of dish, and it had the perfect spice. To drink I went for a Michelada all 3 times since it is my favorite drink. ( beer prepared with clamato and spices). Location was good size and very clean ( including te bathrooms which is a big thing for us since we have 3 small kiddos). Staff was professional, fast and attentive so we left 20% time every time we went. We surely recommend this place. Ohh. And make sure yall try te fried ice cream.

Im giving this a 2 bc of the service. The food itself was very tasty and reasonably priced. I wasnt expecting the enchilada sauce to be a little spicy but other than, I have no complaints about the food. The service however is a different matter. When I walked in the host asked if I had carry out when I told her no I needed a table she acted like it was a chore to seat me (little eye roll and sigh). My waiter brought me the wrong drink and only checked on me once. He took my glass to refill and never came back. When I did finish my food I sat there with my napkin on my plate ready for the check for almost 10 minutes. I could understand if the place was crowded but there werent many people there at all. When I asked if I needed to pay him or the girl up front he said he would take it. When he walked away with my card he rolled his eyes. I suggest carry out if you really want to eat here until they hire new servers and a new hostess. I wont be back.

I really tried to like this place ( it is close and convenient ) but after three bad experiences I have to give up.first time was the taco salad, I was unaware that when they put the green chilli on it meant it would be swimming in HOT almost clear liquid. The second time was the ground beef tacos. In my opinion the ground beef tasted like it was fifty percent tomato paste with no other flavor. The third time was the breakfast skillet that tasted like the skillet it came on, the peppers and onions were raw ( they were supposed to be grilled ) and the egg was way overcooked and rubbery, and there was very little green chili on it. When I told the owner I didnt like it she just took the plate and walked away. She had no interest in what it was I didnt like about it.I would not go there again if it was free.

I saw 3.5 stars and was wary. But I loved this place. Its by far the best Mexican food Ive had in a few years. im a snarky food critic type of person.. pretty picky. This place was not only entirely clean and nicely decorated with friendly attentive staff, the food was really, really good. I had steak and shrimp fahitas, guacamole salad and a patron silver Marguerita. My husband had fish tacos. All were excellent with more food than we could eat. In fact, Im pretty sure they make their beans from scratch, because they tasted just like the beans my abuela used to make. I highly recommend it.

THIS WAS ONE OF THE WORST PLACES IVE GONE TO IN SUCH A LONG TIME. WAITERS ARE VERY NICE BUT IT TOOK THEM 25MINS TO TAKE OUR ORDER AND IT WAS BECAUSE I ASK. BUT THE BEST PART WAS WE WAITED 40MINS AND NEVER GOT OUT FOOD. THERE WERE MULTIPLE PEOPLE THAT GOT THERE AFTER US GOT WAITED ON AND SERVED SO AFTER WAITING 1HR AND NO FOOD WE DECIDED TO LEAVE AND PAY FOR OUR DRINKS. SO DISSAPOINTED.

Worst place ever! Going to use the restroom and then order food and we get kicked out. " oh this isnt a public restroom you have to get out and go to king soopers " well **** you! Horrible ass people! Will never return back ever again! If possible i would give you no goddamn star.

Salsa taste and looked like it was made with hot sauce and tomato paste or something. Tasted like it too. We didnt order any good, and only stayed a couple of minutes. The place was kinda grungy, customers had their feet up on the tables. Just wasnt an appealing place to eat.

Very good food. Good price. Owner works her heart out, but I think its been getting to her. She hasnt been as friendly as before and seems annoyed when you ask for something extra. Otherwise, food and speed of service is great. I still keep going.
