The food was good--nothing spectacular. The portions are generous. The reason we will not be back is partially because as I mentioned, the food was nothing special/worth driving out there for, but also because of the service. Our waitress was nice, but we were not satisfied with how our situation was handled. We wanted and ordered the sesame scallops. When we got the food, it was sesame SHRIMP. Not a huge deal, mistakes happen. We notified the waitress, and she insisted that we ordered shrimp, not scallops. We said that neither of us eat shrimp, and that we wanted scallops (my boyfriend is sure he said "scallops" when ordering). She kept insisting that we said shrimp, and insisted that we at least try the shrimp. Okayyyy, so even though its not what we wanted, we tried it just to appease her. Nope, still want scallops. So when she came back, we said we tried it, sorry for any misunderstanding, but we really do want scallops, NOT SHRIMP. She again kept insisting that we ordered shrimp, and just VERY awkwardly stood there and stared at us like it was our problem that we have food that we wont eat and didnt order. I asked if she could please just bring us what we want, as we didnt order shrimp. She asked if we tried it. Um, yes, we did, and by God its still not what we want!! Ive worked in customer service for years, and if I bring out food that people say they didnt order, dont like, and dont want, I know to suck it up (no matter if Im right or wrong) and just get the paying customer what he/she wants. We were not rude about this, and it was annoying how she tried to make us eat this food we didnt want/order instead of just getting us what we came here to eat and pay for, which was NOT SHRIMP. We were literally the only people in the restaurant a couple of hours before closing, so there was no reason she made us go through all of this and practically made us plead that she bring us the food we really wanted/ordered. We felt like children at a dinner table being force-fed, except we were paying $12 a plate for it.

Easily the WORST Chinese food Ive ever had! After I was forced to perform a grueling extraction process to get my entree from the plastic bag filled and gummy with overflowed sauce that it came in, I was sadly disappointed to eat the most flavorless, gooey mess (which ought to have been the delicacy known as shrimp in lobster sauce) that can be imagined. The shrimp were large and plentiful, a nice surprise that had me eager to dig in, even after my frustration with the puddle it arrived in. Thats where it failed me miserably. I couldnt even stomach one helping from a container that yielded at least two servings. Such a waste. On top of that, I got hot & sour soup despite my repeated requests for the salad offered on the menu as an alternative. The only high point of the meal was, ironically, the Vietnamese spring rolls. That a Chinese restaurant, especially one rated so highly, could only deliver a decent Vietnamese dish and nothing edible from the Chinese menu is almost laughable, if only the joke hadnt cost me nearly $30.

I have been an always satisfied customer UNTIL today 6/19/17 . I ordered the vegetable soup, which was over powered with mushrooms, vegetable lowmein which was very soggy noodles with strange vegs. The food was on on the outside of the container. Then to add something special I ordered sweet and sour shrimp??? The shrimp was really OVER COOKED tough and the vegs were burnt on the edges. Did I miss something? This was not the expected good meal I am used to getting from this eatery. Did You sell out? Are you on vacation? The frieir needs to have to eat the next batch of fried shrimp.. If you are on vacation just close instead of sending out strange food cooked by someone who does not know how to fry tempura shrimp!!! I will probably try this again with the hopes someone on the management end reads this review.. I know it isnt easy to satisfy everyone but before today I was always pleased with the food and the price. Elizabeth Anderson

My wife and I moved to Denver a couple years ago and have been looking for a chinese food place that was as good as the one we regularly ordered from at our previous home. We have finally found it at East China. We are vegetarian so we ordered the fried tofu and mixed vegetables and it was just as good as our old favorite place. The portions are generous, my wife an I were actually able to split the serving and there was still plenty of food for both of us, so that means we got a full meal with egg rolls as well for about $5.50 each, quite a bargain! The restaurant seemed really clean and the location is easy to get in and out of, as its off of a less busy side street. We called in and picked up our order so we dont have any experience with the delivery or eat-in service, but the food was ready shortly after I got there to pick it up and we were overall really satisfied with the meal. Will definitely be eating at East China in the future!

The first time I ordered from here, I was in heaven, or close to it. Every single item purchased was amazing and cooked to perfection! Delivery was fast and the food was nice and hot. I can not say enough about my meal. My order was Happy Family (and it WAS), crab cheese wontons, wonton soup and an egg roll. I am trying my second order tonight with something different and Im certain I will enjoy it as much! The review for "Worst Chinese food" ever is interesting. This restaurant doesnt bring your food in plastic bags, and it states so on their website.

I ordered spring rolls (desired to have three total), 6 crab cheese wontons and egg drop soup for delivery. What came was another story- 3 orders of spring rolls $17.85, wontons $5.50 (got this one okay) and no soup. They charged my card over $86 and then tried to tell me I my total was $25. I dont see how that order could amount to $25. She explained at that point that it was 3 orders of springs rolls and thats why its expensive. Because she didnt clarify at the time of order, I got stuck with these orders and still never got my soup.

If you order delivery, no matter how many times you request steamed rice, you will get fried and when you order wontons, dont expect sauce. No utensils. They just want your money, dont care about getting you what you actually ordered... Thanks! I will not be ordering from you again. Three times and still getting it wrong? No thanks.

It took over an hour for my food to be delivered. When it finally did arrive my order was incomplete and cold, my sweet and sour chicken was soggy and there was no sauce. Of course when I called to complain the wouldnt refund my money claimed they were closed but would send a driver right away. Never again!!!!
