Another great breakfast was enjoyed by us on Friday, June 23, 2017. Our server was Brittany and she did a great job. Great food and service! A very enjoyable experience! My husband and I had breakfast a few mornings ago at Dancing Tomato. Angie was our server, and she was excellent! Drink refills were done promptly, and she was available (without "hovering") to provide anything we needed. The taste and quality of our food were excellent. Compliments to the cook! We have brought friends and relatives here for meals and are rarely, rarely disappointed. We are so fortunate to have this great restaurant in our area! Enjoyed another wonderful breakfast at Dancing Tomato yesterday morning. Food was excellent, as usual…service was very good. Disappointments are extremely rare at this wonderful restaurant. Last month I took a friend to dinner there. She enjoyed her meal very much. I did, too! Another enjoyable breakfast experienced at your restaurant this past week. No complaints, everything was wonderful! The food is great! We ate breakfast again on May 15, 2014. Our meals were great, and so was Melissa our server. Great food, great service…what else does one need? We always enjoy our visits to Dancing Tomato, no matter what time of day. We enjoyed another breakfast at Dancing Tomato this past Saturday. We love your food! Dont ever change anything...it is great the way it is! Our server did a great job...I dont recall her name, but she was very polite and checked on us several times to see if we needed anything. We enjoyed breakfast at your restaurant this past Tues. Melissa was our server and did a wonderful job. Our food was delicious. Only one little problem...my hashbrowns could have been warmer. Otherwise my husband and I had a very positive dining experience, and look forward to coming to your restaurant again soon. Another wonderful breakfast at your restaurant was enjoyed by my husband and me on Tues., May 5, 2015. Krystal was our server and was excellent. She is so friendly and caring and very efficient. The food we had was excellent, too! Always delicious! My husband and I had lunch at your restaurant on Monday, Sept. 7, 2015. My husband loved his spaghetti with meat sauce...a generous portion with plenty to take home. I enjoyed my Italian Chef Salad...ingredients were very fresh and I had lots leftover to take home. Jake was our server and did very well.

I drove past this place so many times and finally went for the first time tonight! Atmosphere: besides the obvious tomatos, theres tons of nostalgic decorations. The music was from all the classics like Frank Sinatra, etc. Dim, low key, generally quiet and not super busy, just the way i like it. Service: good service; Mary did a good job keeping up with me on refills and surprised me with my entree while i was still on my appetizer. I noticed the same service being provided by other servers. Food was there before too long of a wait. My left overs were boxed for me. Cleanliness: the restaurant was clean and well organized. Servers appeared well groomed and clean. The mens room could have used a quick pick up, but nothing major. Taste and presentation: the food was downright awesome! I had garlic wings with ranch for an appetizer and pasta with shrimp, sausage and chicken. First off, the wings were easily some of the best i ever had, but Im not much of a wing person so take it with a grain of salt... no pun intended. The ranch wasnt all runny either. Came on a ceramic skillet with a lettuce bed. Pasta was good, all the meats in it were good and correctly cooked. The garlic and garlic bread was good. It came with a lemon and kale garnish. The unsweetened iced tea was a tad bit strong, which i like anyway. Value: wings, pasta, garlic clove, garlic bread and iced tea came to almost $30. Not too bad for one person to eat a great meal, be full, and take most of the main course back home. After reviewing the menu however, i could see how some people would think that some items are on the pricey side. My opinion, its not THAT much more, and the quality of the food is well worth it. If i would have had a date, i probably would have taken her to McDonalds tho. That dollar menu life! Theres also a bar that looks pretty nice, however i was hungover during my visit and did not go :( i hear the happy hour is worth it though. Ill definitely be back to get those wings again and try something new!

This remains a good place to go for sit-down breakfast, lunch, or dinner -- solo or with friends. Drawing on the table is always fun; the servers sure do have skills writing their names upside down -- with style. I have the free Royalty Rewards card which earns points toward gift certificates or discounts for birthdays or whatnot. You can also earn points by filling out surveys. For breakfast, Ive had their french toast and belgian waffle with the standard eggs and bacon. For lunch Ive tried their ravioli, tortellini amalfi, spaghetti and meatball, eggplant parm, pizza, soups (minestrone, clam chowder, tomato basil to name a few) and grown-up grilled cheese sandwiches -- ALWAYS with raspberry iced tea. Not that unsweetened stuff. Formerly known as "half orders," they are now called "Express Lunch" portions, that still come with the garlic bread. For a full dinner, the pasta pomodoro is great when heirloom tomatoes are in season. Tiramisu and funnel sticks are pretty indulgent desserts, as is that chocolate lasagna, or the Elmers sundae. Root beer floats are served with the extra root beer in shot glasses, as I recall. The servers are always pleasant, and I look forward to the e-newsletter for specials every month. Notable servers of years past that I do miss: Jorge and Kristin always brightened my day.

I enjoy whenever I get to come to Caffe Italia for lunch. I love to come alone with a good book, or with friends, for long lunch chats, catching up, and the wait staff never make me feel rushed, but keep my iced tea coming, remembering my "no lemon", and they are ever available, but always in the background - except when they introduce themselves and write their names upside down on the paper-covered tables! That still always makes me smile. I cant speak to a lot on the menu, because their Thai Chicken Salad is so wonderful, I end up ordering it every time; I cant pass it up! The high-backed benches which divide the tables create an atmosphere of discretion where I can feel tucked away undistracted, or have a serious or silly conversation, without feeling as if everyone around can hear, and I love the paper table covers and the can of crayons; Ive sketched out many an idea and drawn many an explanatory diagram on those tables! Ive been coming to Caffe Italia since 1985, and I dont remember ever having a bad meal. Although I usually come for lunch, I love when I have the rare chance to come there for breakfast! Best in Davis.

Ive been coming to Caffe Italia and its predecessors, basically the same wonderful restaurant with different names, since the very early 1970s when sawdust was scattered on the dining room floor. The sawdust is thankfully long gone, but the menu got even better, retaining old favorites and adding other culinary delights. The food is consistently excellent and the staff attentive and personable. Prices are very reasonable considering the excellent food they serve, always steaming hot and delicious. Caffe Italia continues to be my favorite destination for a satisfying breakfast. On our most recent visit I enjoyed my favorite omelet, the Olive Oyl and my husband opted for the Popeye omelet. Those selections always allow us to enjoy both spinach and the best potatoes with sour cream and chives. Breakfast is always worth the almost 40 mile round trip that we have been making for over 40 years! We will drive a few more miles when Caffe Italia moves to Woodland sometime in the future because we know that the trip is always worth it.
