Based on a *2nd visit* (1st being pretty much non-existent due to it being closed) to Bizzara Capital, I give this place a huge thumbs up for its delicious authentic food. It was totally WORTH IT to come here a 2nd time and give it a try. Chef Ricardo Diaz does wonders with the menu. What we had:Mole Fries - mole lovers will love this dish (note if you dont like mole this wont change your opinion, but its damn good if youre a fan)Cecina Y Enchilada Huastecas - different type of texture as he uses an aged meat, but it perfectly seasoned-the marinade has a nice blend of spices.Costillitas - These Pork short ribs were so very tender it falls off the bone very tasty with his verde sauceCalabacitas - Bright home style dish; zucchini sauteed with diced onions, tomatoes, corn and melted cheeseThe amibiance and decor is a tad old school; it could use some updated/comfortable seating areas. Then again, most of us will go to a hole in wall to grab some good grub. The only major critique I have is that the service is extremely slow.

TL;dr: this place bills itself as a hip foodie-type place. It qualifies for the food, but not the service. I really did enjoy most of the food. But to get it took a while. The place didnt seem understaffed, but they didnt come to take our drink order until we had been seated for 15 minutes. Then our beer and drinks didnt come for another 10 minutes. We order and about 20 minutes for food -- fine there, but they messed the order up, and different servers brought us the wrong food twice. Food was savory and spicy (steak plate, tacos, quesadillas), except for the flour tortillas, which seemed to be warm but stale grocery-store tortillas; the corn ones are good and made in-house. Hope they can figure out the wait and flour tortillas, Ive lived in Whittier all my life and want to see its restaurants thrive!

My husband an I were regular customers at this restaurant, we felt that it was pretty disorganized, we walked in occasions when the restaurant were busy and the service was terrible, the food arrive cold and drinks where wrong, at this point we want to give it another try and it was a clear mistake, we walkin in we wait for our table patiently and the hostess give our table to another couple that just walked in 15 mins after us, we asked the hostess why? and he replied that the couple had a booth reservation, when the fact was with the short conversation we had with the couple, they did not have any reservation, we walked away so frustrated, never to come back again, the service did this twice to us, shame on us for coming back.

They have the best shrimp taco that Ive ever had in my life. Their corn tortillas are thick, like someone is flip-flopping them by hand. All of their tacos are served on them. The tacos are amazing. Theyve got sauteed shrimp, a cabbage mixture, cilantro, and the creamy sauce that they put on it. I could drink the salsa from the cup. They actually cook it in a vat all day. So they dont serve it at lunch because it has to simmer for that long. They have live mariachi music on the weekends and a listing of ITA beers on tap. There a lot of weird beers that Ive never heard of and they have a special flavored margarita everyday like mango, and agua frescas.

I was stuck in bad LA traffic and ended up taking the exit which took me up to Whittier College. As I was hungry I searched Yelp and found this Mexican place. The place was busy so while waiting to be seated the bar tender recommended Pepino Vago which was really good drink. Ordered guacamole, potato and few other tacos and very thing looked so nice and was also very tasteful to eat. Service was a bit slow that day but for me food comes over service. Overall I was really impressed and feel lucky to have taken that exit and eat at Bizarra Capital.

Great Modern take on authentic cuisine of Mexico. Try the Duck Tacos and youll be hooked. All of the tacos are really good btw. Just be careful with the food items labeled "hot" because they are really really hot. Also, they have an interesting cocktail made with cucumber and chili salt. Its so delicious, my wife and I both order one each every time we go. I forget the name, but if you read the cocktail menu, youll see it. Staff is friendly.

If you ever find yourself in Whittier or nearby and looking for great Mexican food, then I would recommend you try this place. Its food was very authentic and expertly spiced. I have the Carne asada tacos and my wife had the fix tacos. both were excellent. A nice surprise was their very current list of local draft tap beers. They had about 9 on tap. Will definitely return here.

Walked in it felt like a butcher shop the place had a funny smell and the service was poor they didnt want to serve on me and my friend and when they did I felt as if it had something to do with ethnicity Caucasions and felt out of place by the quick get ur order out and be gone attitude. When I received my food it look like a hot mess of cheese and onions never going back

I come by once in a while and I have not been disapointed. They say its Mexican food but its not. Its gourmet Mexican food. When I try something off the menu, its not familiar Mexican. Very hard to describe. Its just fantastic. Bring someone and have a drink. It appears the goal is not to stuff your belly but Its to stuff your taste buds.

I recently celebrated a friends birthday here and really liked the service and food. Its not really tapas, as a friend had told me that was, but it was still delicious. I could tell the ingredients were fresh and nicely paired with each other. They even let us stay late even though they closed early that night.

Oh my goodness I absolutely love this place!!! I recently moved right around the corner and visit here once a week. The staff is amazing, food is delicious and feels as though Grandma is in the kitchen. It can get pretty busy but is worth the wait!!! Come and taste the food for yourself you wont be disappointed.

Never expected Whittier to be a foodie town, but my recent forays to the city has been so pleasant. Bizzara Capitals gourmet Mexican fare is so unbelievably good, its my go to Mexican restaurant from now on if I can bear the drive from West LA just to dine out. But it might be worth the drive.

Just back to my office after eating several tacos for lunch on "Taco Tuesday." It was my first visit. Ive already recommended this place to my secretary. The food was exceptional. The service was terrific. Ricardo was nice and friendly. The atmosphere was fun. Ill be back.
