Usually the food is pretty good, however that Spanish Manager only seems for want to please the Spanish customers. One time when I was there getting a to-go box I had a couple of dinner rolls on top of my box. When I went to the register to get my bag so I can leave there was a Spanish customer waiting ahead of me. She had a lot of dinner rolls on top of her box and the manager told her "let me get you a box for your rolls" he got the box and put them in there for her and asked if she needed butter (she had enough rolls to fill the extra box). When she said yes the manager went and got a handful for her and put it in her bag. When she left it was my turn. The manager told me that my 2 rolls could not be on top of my box but had to go in the box and the lid closed. I told he that would smash the rolls, he told me that if I could not put them in the box then I could not take them. When I mentioned about the lady in front of me he told me that each customer is a different person and that we were not going to talk about the other customers and then again told me to put the rolls in my box and close it. I handed him the rolls back and told him he could keep them.

The food is amazing and fresh. The reason why i only give 3 stars and not 5 like i wanted to was due to the fact that when employees and there superior are talking or having a disagreement or misunderstanding or even if they are under alot of pressure due to other customers they should take it in the back or even to a quiet corner of the facility and dispute it among them self not out in the open while people are eating. Besides that the music is nice the food is amazing and its a very clean place. I would come back again.

They need to teach the people working with the carving station how to not miss handle the food. The heavy set girl in a black shirt and pants does not know food safety, as she uses a white towel to wipe the counters then uses the same towel to wipe off the carving knife to cut meat. Once I watched her put food back in a tray that had spilled on a counter surface. That food is now contaminated and can not be placed back in the serving tray. This is poor food practices. I do not want to eat somewhere that is not clean.

This place is now like a Coma. Dead with very few customers. The reason I will not go back is the employees feel they can make fun of customers and laugh at them. Keep in mind the customers are what pay the employees wages. They have a big lesson to learn about customers. No customers means no need for employees. Always a wait at the carving station for meat as you have to wait for a employee who cares enough to come cut your meat. Most do not care how long you wait.

You come in and pay a set fee for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and seat yourself wherever you please. Next, help yourself as many times as you like to a buffet style of American food. No need to worry about a clean dish for round two or three because there are plenty of dishes and silverware for you at the end of the warmers for you to over indulge. This facility is clean with nice wait staff. The food is decent.

I think this place has come a far way. I was able to find enough tasty options that for my diet. I eat only Meat, fruit and veggies unprocessed. I dont have sugar or bread which roommates a lot at most buffets. The meat was flavorful whereas in the past all of it was bland. The fruit was average. There were two flavorful veggie options: green beans and broccoli. The place was clean and the staff was friendly.

I have updated my review of Hometown Buffet because the new Manager has repaired the faults I was so unhappy with. Great job in turning around a business in trouble. He cares about the quality of the food and the customer. This is a win, win for the LAX Airport area. Now if you can get word to the local hotels near LAX Airport that there is a new Manager in place, you will be busy again.

Fantastic job of fixing most of the broken things with the LAX Airport location. We have watched for years as the old General Manager let it run downhill even when he was being told by many people what was wrong. This new manager takes the time to walk the floor and get a feel for who his guest really are. I see this place turning around in the next year to be full with a waiting line

I will never eat here again due to the attitude of the kitchen manager. Just plain nasty to the customers with a snap at you attitude. When he is left in charge, everything goes down hill from there. I paid $15 and change on a Sunday afternoon only to find no one at the carving station the whole time I was there. I should have went to Proud Bird where they love there customers.

My 1st time eating lunch at this location, and I liked the cashier she was so polite, and the black guy collecting the used plates was also very courteous. The food was very good, it was air conditioned, I didnt use the restroom so I dont know if there clean! One thing they can improve on is to keep the floor clean! They need to sweep more often .

The General Manager and the Marketing Manager that are new here are really good about turning this Hometown Buffet around. Love the care they are putting into it. Ernie is so good with family and kids. Israel is what this location needed as a manager years ago. Food is back on track and making big improvements. Thanks Hometown. Its back on track.

I am proud to see by the reviews that my first instinct was correct. I walked in here and between the putrid smell at the front door and the uncomfortable temperature of the building (like a wall of heat) I turned around and left before even encountering an employee. Judging by the other comments Im grateful I did not.
