Recently moving to the West Hills area, I was looking for the best restaurants that served my favorite international foods. There are quite a few choices for Indian Food. Including several specialty Indian markets around town. My boyfriend and I passed by Ghandi Indian Cuisine and the place looked deserted. We thought that wasnt a good sign. We checked some YELP reviews and they came out on top every time. So we went back, hoping the lack of people did not mean that the restaurant closed down. Well - they were open and thank goodness they were! We sat down (we were the only ones in the large place!) and ordered familiar dishes- hoping for the best. What we received was the BEST! Delicious Prawn Tikka Masala, Chicken Biryani, Papadam, Garlic Naan, Kheer & Gulab jamon! All excellent! And served with friendly, prompt service. The manager/ owner came over and spoke with us. He even gave us both discount cards that were good for all future visits! I admit - I grew up eating Indian food- My father is from Hyderbad India and my aunties were incredible cooks! So I know good Indian Cuisine. - We asked why the place was so empty - bottom line- its the location - behind a Mission Taco restaurant. Driving by - there is no visibility. The place is only a few blocks from where we live, so we walked. Its a shame...this place should be doing booming business all open hours...though it was nice to have the place to ourselves. We have since ordered over the phone and picked up our order, eating at home- mainly because we didnt feel like being in anything more than pajamas from busy days. Ghandi cuisine has never disappointed me. In fact - we are going there for dinner tonight! I highly recommend Ghandi indian Cuisine for anyones Indian food dining pleasure!

What a fabulous surprise! We went here for a family holiday (myself, wife, 9-yr-old daughter), and had an excellent meal for a more-than-fair price. To note, we love Indian food to the point where Ive learned to cook a few pretty delicious curries myself, and were pretty spoiled on spicy food in general. This is a family-run place, and the wait staff treats diners with an earnest though respectful familiarity. Service is prompt, and at the same time the staff is more than willing to chat and answer questions. If you like an IPA with your curry, its BYOB (no corkage fee), but theres an excellent liquor store in the same complex, sporting a vast selection of top wines and craft beers. The prawn appetizer is original and delicious, and the samosas are, well, good samosas. Of course we tried the CTM, and it was the much-venerated British Indian Restaurant version, which is a good thing. The garlic and ginger curry was ideal in consistency, chunky like a thick salsa and loaded with honest flavor. Garlic naan was perfect, and not too huge. The only minus I would choose, if I were forced to nitpick, is something thats common among Indian restaurants I know: they tone down the hotness level when youre eating with a kid. However, they dont dial down the flavor. In conclusion, we wholeheartedly recommend Gandhi Indian Cuisine. My daughter and I are going to make it a regular place for after-school lunch (well convince them to crank up the hot), and my wife loved the price so much that Gandhi instantly joined our short list of go-to restaurants for family dinners.

gandhi restrunt is sooooo good food i realy like i tI went for dinner here with my family and we thoroughly enjoyed it. However, we were spoiled because the place was nearly empty and we were given their full attention. There are lots of Indian restaurants in the San Fernando Valley. The decor in many of them is bland, unoriginal and/or not interesting. I would say gandhi is consistent with the competition in the decor category and need of some more of Indian artwork you typically see in many of them. If you want great decor, head over the hill to west los angeles if you are up for the drive. I like great food and short drives which makes agandhi tops on my list of great places for Indian grub.I recommend getting the "red basket" of Indian bread. Youll receive a variety of bread including onion kulcha, garlic naan and plain naan. Furthermore, they have great seafood dishes which is really unique and enjoyable when it is couple with Indian flavors. Its a refreshing upgrade from the basic chicken tandoori. They didnt have their liquor license yet ,which was great. We bought some wonderful beer at a store nearby and they were really easy going about it. They even opened it for us and brought us glasses. No "corkage" fee! ;)The prices were great and the gandhi is outstanding. I strongly recommend giving Kwality a try and I think youll enjoy an easy going unpretentious atmosphere with fresh food.,,,,,

On a mission to find the best Indian food in the Canoga Park/West Hills area. And this is my second least fave place. I read some reviews on here and am surprised to see so many raving reviews. I suppose I should give it another try to be fair. But my first experience (and my last) was very unpleasant. I ordered my fave Chicken Tikka Masala to go, which was just buttered chicken. The worst flavor ever. The presentation was atrocious. Flavor less and color less food. The naan was lacking any body or flavor. The rice was hard and unpleasant. To be fair, I supposed I should give it another try. But, Im scared to do so. Thus far, its the second worst Indian food in that area to me.

wonderful lunch special: I had the chicken marsala. I asked them to make it a little spicy and they did. It was well seasoned, the rice was cooked perfectly, the naan was heated to perfection. The eggplant was delish (didnt know it was eggplant), and even the water wasnt from the tap. Anyway, you will get the bang for you buck during lunch. I paid only $7.95 for this. (Oh, I paid extra for additional naan.) Go, go and go. Stop being afraid of Indian cuisine. Open your eyes and open your mouthes!

I went for lunch and ordered ala carte from the lunch specials. The lamb vindaloo had a strange tang to it. Very ordinary food and ambience. Wont bother visiting again!
