Bear Man and I have been driving bye this place for years, saying we were going to stop and try it. Finally we stopped, and then we found out why this place is always full of people. Park in the back. Feels kinda creepy at first like most alley parking does, but there are usually customers coming and going so its not so bad. When you come in the door youre in the market part, which feels disorganized with shelves haphazardly stocked and big sacks of lentils and whatnot stacked towards the front of the store. The restaurant is attached. There is always a line. Everyone is from India and I dont understand a word, so when its my turn I look in the deli case and I have no idea what anything is called. So I point. Everything is vegetarian. I get a few things and I go to pay, and its $4.96 tax included for my "lunch special"! Which is served all day. So Im super happy about that. We sit down in our nothing to speak of booth. Really cool Indian music playing. And take a taste of the cauliflower. OMG. Everything was so flavorful! We loved it so much we took a plate to go. Weve been back again and again. The sweets and chai tea are delicious too. I left a star out. For ambience and a little craziness standing in line to order. But its worth it. The previous reviewer is right. At this price you can try for yourself. Now Im craving that cauliflower. Ill post a picture when I go back.

Great place for Indian vegetarian food. It is quite overwhelming to order your food, but its cheap and good value. For lunch, they offer three options. You choose one of the options and then you pick one or two vegetables depending on the combo youve selected. They then hand you a tray of chutney and later breads (naan and roti). Samosas and pakoras may also be handed to you in yet another tray if your combo included those. Finally, a bowl of dessert is given if you order combo #3. You just have to go with the flow and make sure you get everything youre supposed to. Know the items in the combos. If you dont, google.

I ordered & paid for 25 samosas that I picked up next day in the evening. Upon getting home, discovered they shorted me 5 samosas and it was too late to go back because I was far away. I am very disappointed since the cashier/owner confirmed my order during pick-up. I needed the order for a friends birthday at work for the next day and couldnt return the next morning since I was working. Disappointed & inconvenienced.

Its the people, the relationships, the families with children coming together in natural and kind ways. The food is a joy to eat, as we were surrounded by children and family. People talking and laughing together. Smart phones, if there are any, are in pockets. The staff make eye contact and care that you are there. Having not been to India, now I would go. My son and I felt welcome, and remembered.

Restaurant - Perhaps if youre a big fan of really hearty Indian Food, then youll probably like this. But for those who are into "healthy" eating, at least when I went there, the food was way too salty. If you have health issues, may not be the ideal place to eat. My brothers gout acted up, perhaps from the excess salt & spices. But for the price, you could take a chance, and see for yourself. ;-)

The primary appeal..... is that the store is one of a kind around a 20 to 30 mile circle. This store can improve on so many fronts. Cleanliness, Fresh Indian Sweets (instead of the century old ones they sell) and decent parking. Good for buying spcies and other Indian Items. Bad for eating in that small, unclean, so called eating place!!!

This place is really good for vegetarian fast food as well as breakfast, lunch or dinner. Very reasonable prices. My friend used to stay in Woodland Hills, and first time I visited with him 5-6 years back. Anytime I visit LA and go towards Woodland Hills.. I always visit the restaurant. I really love their parathas and small thalis.

Best and cheapest Indian food in the valley! Everything is vegetarian and the food is so tasty. Dont let the cafeteria style look of their place put you off, the food is excellent. We paid less than 15 dollars for three meals :)

The food is not very great if you are going to do a takeaway. May be better if you have it there.. Service is OK.. The grocery store is well stocked and has many essentials.. Not enough parking spots in the evening..

I rarely go and visit Indian restaurants but when I do, I was probably dragged into one. Anyway, the food here was really good. Chili naan was the food I couldnt forget here. Really good stuff.

The legit place for Indian food. No glitz only Glory. Being an North Indian this is what you can ask for. We make trip from UCLA in Westwood to this place for the nice food. Sardarji rocks !

Hands down best samosa in town and value for money. All vegetarian with vegan choices. If you are too much into cleanliness then not your place. The grocery store has good choice too.

My go-to place for Indian food. The fact that it is vegetarian only is more than made up for by the sheer yumminess! Park in back and pick up a jar of chutney on the way in.

I absolutely love this place. Everyone is really very friendly. The business is very homely and open. Come here often enough, and the people there feel like family.

Went for first and last time. Very bad experience. They will only take care of their regular customers. They take new customers as granted. Highly disappointed.

Cant beat the price but the quality and cleanliness are questionable. The service is what you expect (minimal but friendly especially if you are a regular)
