I love this place. LOVE it. (Im speaking for the Concord store only) The only reason Im not giving it 5 stars is two fold: 1. its sometimes inconsistent (because of or sometimes and management or cooks, and 2. This shows in the food. Two examples: I love their garlic bread, I would buy it weekly if it was consistent. The idea is the garlic should be roasred/baked and therefore spreadable on the bread. Instead, maybe half is baked through, the rest is garlic butter. Id rather have the roasted garlic. Ive said something, a few times, and sometimes gets fixed. I stopped trying after while, maybe they dont care if I buy it or not. The other is one manager always has the cooks use crappy oils. Ive stopped going when hes there. Seriously its gross. But by and large this has the best food, ridiculous large portions and friendly people. I love love love this place, the family vibe they have, and they know what I like. I will continue to go there forever because they do listen to customers, especially the owner, shes fantastic! And I love their staff.

Good food, kind staff, great service, and easy parking. I look forward to my monthly visits here. Buttercup Grill & Bar is an unpretentious local diner with down home food. It reminds you how Walnut Creek must have been when it was still a small town filled with locals, walnut trees, and the creek that ran through the middle of town. I come here once a month for dinner. Why, you ask? The accommodate our group of 15, and even give us individual checks. Tanya and Tessa are friendly and nice waitresses who make you feel welcome with a, "Hey Hon." The food is ALWAYS freaking delicious for a small diner on the corner of busy Ygnacio Valley Road, just blocks from fancy, frou frou places that charge twice as much. Recommendations: Vegetarian Black Bean Chili Baked Potato Soup Chicken Pot Pie

This my second less than stellar experience at this restaurant so Im going to write a review...We were seated immediately then waited 10 minutes before the waitress took our order....had to ask for refill on the coffee. We had T-Bone steak which was overcooked. My wife ordered as rare as permissible and she got well done. I had patty melt. Waitress asked if I needed mustard. I said please and waited 10 minutes and no mustard...I finally asked man cleaning tables to grab mustard which he did right away...Waitress was very nice but really seems like her head was someplace else...maybe responsible for too many tables...So We wont be returning...there are many diners similar to this where the food and service is far superior: Black Bear pops into mind....

Great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner - they even have a good wine list! Terrific fresh food that doesnt make me feel guilty 2 hours later, interesting menu, excellent service every time! Great coffee - better than Starbucks - and dont forget to try one of their freshly-baked pies! The best eating place in Walnut Creek if you like real food and great service!

Buttercup is a small family diner chain that delivers quality classic American diner food for reasonable prices. Breakfast is always good and their Ruben is tops! Service can occasionally be slow but always friendly. Subtle details like the kids cups with kids cup length straws (no cutting down to size) show the roots of this family diner.

I have to say, Ive been to this place three times and the food has been bad all three times. From crunchy french toast and uncooked scrambled eggs to a burnt Belgian waffle. Im sorry, I know this place is practically a landmark, but I dont see the appeal.

Our club meets here every month. I love the place. Its a very pleasant restaurant. The food and service are both always great. The prices more than resonable. The.selections are vast, the people, staff and customers alike, are charming.

Ive been plenty happy with the price and quality of everything Ive had here. They have a surprising variety for a diner which is great but most impressive is the cleanliness and atmosphere. This location is far and above your typical diner.

This little diner right next to the court house has some tasty options. The fare is typical of most diners you have been to but they give it their own unique flare. This is a worthwhile option in the area, especially for breakfast.

Very nice American style old fashion restaurant . Pretty often having lunch there when working in Walnut Creek. Not a cheap one, but you need to pay for good , quality food and customer service, right?

Part of a small local chain based in the Bay Area, I have visited most of them but Oakland (visited the most) is close to my work. Food is good, friendly staff, consistent quality with easy parking.

Walnut Creek mainstay Your basic coffee shop. Amazing baked goods, gigantic portions. Has a full bar. Do not expect gourmet food.
