I already sent them feedback on their website but never got a response or an apology at least. It was my familys first time there and we were from out of town. The waiters werent so friendly and avoided us as much as possible. I assumed they thought we couldnt afford to eat there. Anyway, I ordered a baked potato and all it came with was sour cream and butter. I assumed thats all they had so didnt bother to ask for toppings. The table next to us ordered the same thing and their potato looked great, had everything on it. I still didnt bother them at that point. Then our server was going on break and introduced us to a new server who didnt once smile or say hi. The two servers went around our area introducing her and she said hi to everyone else. Still, at that point I didnt care. What got to me was when the MANAGER came out and greeted every table not including ours. She walked past us to the second table and was pleasantly talking to them. At first, I assumed she knew these people. Then she went to every table in our area and did the same thing. As she was leaving the area, she glanced at our table and quickly walked away. The food was okay but the service was not. I will not go to this black bear diner again but will give others a second try.

Not a fan of American cuisine, but I gave it a try. Some of the staff was friendly, but the waiter who took my order was very rude when I asked for no dairy in my dinner. She said that without dairy, it would defeat the purpose of hash browns. This seemed rude, as I have a dairy allergy and expect restaurants to accommodate allergens, as restaurant certification standards require. Maybe she didnt know that hash browns could be made with vegetable oils, but regardless, she could have been more polite. If you are looking for dietary-restriction-friendly dining, I would not recommend coming here. However, the restaurant is well-branded, has great art, and seems to promote the national parks (which I think is good). Stars: -1 for unknowledgeable staff, -1 for impoliteness, +1 for good artwork and decor, +1 for authenticity (good job with American food as claimed), +1 for thematic setting

This visit was my first and my last. When we get seated (it was a booth) the lamps light bulb was out and told a guy working there about the burnt bulb and said he would get a new one and put it in, he never did. Then when ordering, we (my mom, sister, aunt, uncle, and I) told the waitress that we wanted the check to be split (my mom, sister and I would be one check and my aunt and uncle would be the other) it wasnt done as we asked, it came all on one check. When it came to the food, it wasnt up to par, my uncle, aunt, and I ordered a burger with garlic fries (since thats what we wanted) when we received the food the fries were plain. My mom ordered the baked potato and it wasnt even hot when she got it, just warm. I thought my first time would be great but it wasnt.

Se per visitare il Sequoia vi trovate a passare per Visalia, allora vale la pena fare una sosta in questo ristorante tipico americano. Personale molto gentile, luogo curato. Fate solamente attenzione al fatto che le porzioni sono enormi.

My favorite place to eat! I come here often (3 of the waitresses know my order by heart) and have literally never had an experience that was anything but fantastic! The food is delicious, you get a good amount for what you are paying, it is always clean (sometimes a little cold so maybe bring a sweater), and the staff here is unbelievable (I have no idea how they managed to find so many awesome people for one restaurant). I could go on about how much I love this Black Bear.

Atmosphere was cheesy, service was good, food was mediocre at best. The dishes are a little too ambitious for the quality. The burgers came out overcooked and contained just too many ingredients and flavors. For example, the BBQ burger has a huge onion ring on it but due to all the sauces and everything else on the burger, the onion ring became very lost. This seemed to be the theme of all the food. They should stick with more basic burgers and get those right.

Reasonably fast service with a smile. Had the 7.99 Steak and Eggs with country fries. Choice of buiscuit, or toast. (Gravy 1.00) Steak tender and taste. Size just right. Potatoes were the little red ones. Perfect. Now the buscuits, way too big. But fluffy. Ample, tasty gravy. I looked up the salt content and called my cardiologist. Lets just say that the meal was over 2000 mg. Good meal...bad for you

We came by after graduation. ..I love the outside setup for people waiting outside when its so busy....cart full of fresh water coffee and lemonade .... However I give it 2 stars not to the service cus my waitress was awesome...but the cooks...my food was cold...my cousins plate wasnt like the pic on the paper mat...my pancake was like if it was pulled out of the fridge & served straight to my plate

Black Bear Diner in Visalia, CA and to the Manager with the grey shirt Robert which i was told he was the manager at least. I have no words but to RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE WHO BASICALLY WANT TO HAVE A GREAT TIME AND DELICIOUS FOOD. I HAVE NEVER BEEN APPROACHED BY A MANAGER ASKING ME HOW IS MY FOOD IN THE PAST.. BLACK BEAR DINER MANAGEMENT AND STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING.

Great place to stop when youre coming down out of the mountains. The chicken pot pie is delicious and home made. Almost everything is excellent - especially the service. Theres fresh squeezed OJ. They have these small pies that are enough to share between two or three people. We had the coconut cream pie. That was excellent. The burger was good and the kettle fries were fantastic.

This was my first time coming to this chain and I am extremely pleased. The bathroom was clean. The staff was very nice and attentive. The food was really good and they have big portions. The only reason they didnt recieve 5 stars is because they forgot onions on my eggs. The waiter offered to grill me some. I highly recommend this place. I think it is better then Ihop or Dennys

The food is great, but when we were first seated the waitress Kristy wanted to stand in the waitress station and ask what we wanted to eat and drink. We were a good 25 feet away from her. I found this to be very rude and unprofessional. Thankfully another waitress came yo the table to rake our order. Because I had already told my son if she done it again I wasnt ordering.

Let me start by saying that I have drove across America 4 times and I have never had a chicken fried steak plate so good. My husband and I visited this location yesterday (late) afternoon and left absolutely beyond satisfied. The plates are so generous and the staff was great. A wonderful female manager. I will forever recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
