I had been going to Sitton’s North Hollywood Diner for over 25 years because my doctor’s office was across the street. I would always buy a full breakfast. I liked to sit and read the paper with my breakfast. I became annoyed with the very small coffee cups and would have to interrupt reading the paper and look for a waitress for a refill. I asked for a larger cup but to no avail. So, I brought in my own large cup which worked pretty well for several years until March 1, 2010. That day I came into the restaurant and ordered a full breakfast and the waitress filled my large cup. I noticed the owner talking to the waitress and looking over at me. When I asked for a refill she brought over a small cup of coffee which I promptly poured into the larger cup. She went ballistic. She said that they don’t allow this. She accused me of trying to get her fired and that she needed the job to raise her children. I said nothing more but wrote a note of complaint on the back of the check. I pointed out that I was a long time customer, that I have never been treated this way at Sitton’s, that I would never again return to Sitton’s, and that owner lacked courage in not telling me himself. After I paid my bill and was walking out to the parking lot, I was accosted by the owner’s son (Deano was his name I think). He wanted to know why I was complaining. I again explained what I had written. He gave me a lot of excuses and also talked about their 3 cup limit which was the first time I heard of this. He said his father was from the “old country” and that’s the way he was. I pointed out that there are two restaurants in the City of San Fernando owned by Greek born proprietors and they are always friendly and accommodating. I also pointed out that the waitress could have simply and politely said there was a 3 cup limit and I would have to pay for the additional coffee. This I would have gladly done. I have read the many negative reviews here and see that poor treatment at Sitton’s is quite a common occurrence. I no longer wonder if the problem was me. It is not. The one shining light at Sittons is a waitress named Valerie. She is always friendly, accommodating, and provides prompt service. I’m sure there would be more complaints and fewer stars if it weren’t for her. Since Sitton’s seems to be flush with customers in these poor economic times, I will take my business elsewhere.

I was just looking for a chill local place, to have dinner with my Mom, who was in town for a night. Had I known how displease we would be when we left, I would have never gone. The waitress was sort of snobby and rude; she couldnt remember to ask soup/salad, side, etc, as she took the order; she would turn her back and start walking away while you were trying to ask her something; she said let me fill your waters 6 times before she did it(which was as we were leaving). The food was a disgrace to cooking, the best part of the meal was the salad. Appetizer - onion rings - over cooked, tasted like fryer oil (waitress didnt ask if we wanted any ketchup or sauce); salad - huge for being part of a dinner, had about 8 servings of dressing on it, to the point where it was ranch overload; main course - MY chicken fried steak - a little burnt, mediocre in taste, ty for the decent COUNTRY gravy and mash potatoes, side vegetables were over steamed, mushy, and had NO flavor - Moms Salmon Fillet - This was the WORSE part of the meal - the salmon fillet was pan fried at too high a heat for too long, it was closer to salon jerky, utterly disgusting, no gravy on the mash potatoes (luckily) and the veggies were over cooked too. We got a side of brown gravy, which was so horrible that anyone in their right mind wouldnt even serve or call that gravy. Mom tried it before dousing her mach, and we sent it back; tasted like tomatoes, salt, and starch... wtf. The waitress "comped" the Salmon plate, the proceeded to try and charge us for it in the total of the bill. And to top it off, we both now have the runs.(if ya know what i mean) PASS PASS PASS PASS PASS PASS PASS PASS PASS (Eat at the 7-11 across the street, youll have a better meal there)

I almost didnt walk over to this classic little old Hollywood style diner, because of the poor reviews posted in the last few months..I can only say HOW WRONG THEY ALL THE POOR REVIEWS ARE!!!.:)))..THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!! Every person who reviewed this place poorly needs to be slapped hard!!! HATERS! Upon walking in, every waitress greets you with a "good morning, how r u"!, the decor is classic brick with pictures of the past Hollywood stars, the patrons are older and family like, its like a cheers feel! The food is better than Dennys and Ihop easily and tastes like its cooked southern style instead of assembly line! The counter is clean, the sliverware laid out and ready! The breakfast specials are $5 and include a drink, my only complaint was their soda machine wasnt working. They have tvs u can watch the news on, and just overall a great experience! My waitress Rose was a delight, and the blonde Brandy I think was omg cute with a beautiful booty, and the third was the the sweetest greeter!! My only regrets is iv lived in the valley over 5 years and just now discovered this place!! COME HERE ITS WORTH THE DRIVE FROM ANYWHERE IN LA :)))

Ive been coming here for over a year its the only 24 diner across from where we live. This fri we had a horrible storm... my kid and her service cat wanted to go eat... i called several places told them about our situation (hairless sphynx cat) and decided noho diner! I work off tips everytime i went in this place atleast the last 30 times i always left the server 20.00 of a tip. It did not matter if i bought 50.00 worth of food or five. We go in get seated in our normal seat and a server not our server but another walks over and embarressed my child and i after we have put our food order in.. not in her hush voice says you guys need to sit on the patio i felt like they Rosa parked us. I food isnt great they really need more communication about there rules so long time good tipping patrons dont get insulted. In the storm.snd freezing cold we opted to leave and never come back. My hairless cat was in a stroller and is a service cat They have no regard for long time costumers i will not b returning.

I always liked this place more than it deserved - the atmosphere was pleasant, the food was decent, but unless you were a regular sometimes you might as well have been invisible as far as the wait staff was concerned. So when learned it had new owners - its now called Andrews North Hollywood Diner - I had to give them a try at my next opportunity. What a difference! These folks greeted me when I came in, told me to sit where I liked, brought a menu immediately and water shortly after that. I just had a pattymelt and fries, all very good and exactly the way I like them - a good juicy beefy patty with two slices of REAL cheese and chopped grilled onions. They still have the good plate meals on the menu, and of course the early-bird specials (they call them "Sundowners") to entice us geezers in for early cheap dinners. Just to make sure I havent overpraised them Ill have to make a few trips back; I dont think itll be a burden!
