I had to do a double take when passing through this restaurant. Theres this famous 3 Michelin Star sushi restaurant in Tokyo called Sukiyabashi Jiro. The restaurant and its legendary chef was featured in the documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi. Well I can tell you something, this place is definitely not related to that restaurant. Dont get me wrong. The food isnt bad, but its only as good as any other Japanese restaurant. I wouldnt mind going there once in a while since there arent a lot of options for Japanese restaurant in Union City / Fremont area.

This is another go-to place for me, along with Koi Sushi Boat (which is just about across the street almost). I usually go here if for some inexplicable reason Koi isnt appealing. I also heard that the owner of Jiro and Koi are brothers. Havent been able to confirm that, though. One difference from Koi is that theyve got 2 TVs and usually have on a sports game. If there arent a lot of people that day, just request a channel change to make it feel just like home.

Food tasted great! I ordered the California rolls and salmon teriyaki. It would have been 5 stars but there was too much teriyaki sauce on the salmon. It was very economical. Parking was a bit tight, so best to go when theres no lunch rush. I will definitely be going back to that place for lunch!

Jiro has very friendly service and its a nice big place to go to. Just dont go there for sushi/sashimi, because its just mediocre. I dont eat sushi rolls very often, but those seem to be a hit at this place.

Very tasty Sushi! Every experience Ive had at this location has been excellent. From the service to the food. I highly recommend purchasing their home made salad dressing. Its delicious!

My favorite Japanese place. The maguro and ebi are the best I ever had. Same for the teriyaki chicken. Heck, its all good! Authentic as it gets.
