My manager made a reservation for twelve people to come here for lunch, as it was a special occasion that day. When we arrived, our table was a giant square, unlike those long tables that restaurants usually have for large groups. I thought this was nicer, as we could talk more in a group rather than just the people next to us. The servers were really good. They started us off with sourdough bread and butter. The bread was very soft, but butter was extremely cold and hard to spread. Definitely was not fond of this. Most options on the menu are rather pricey because it is seafood. I chose one of the cheaper lunch options, which was the ahi tuna poke bowl. Food came out extremely fast, which was wonderful. However, the ahi tuna poke was rather lacking. Although I have to admit the fish definitely tasted fresher and had better sauces than regular poke places, it did miss a lot of key things that I look for in a poke bowl. They really only had tuna, avocado, masago, ginger and seaweed as their toppings. Most poke places add on imitation crab, fried onion flakes, sesame seeds, and more fish. In addition, eating the avocado was slightly awkward because they cut it in cubes instead of slices. Having the cubes made it hard to mix it in to the rice. I do have to say that the green rice they had was wonderful and I wish that other poke places would incorporate that into their rice. They also sliced their ginger super thin that it tasted good alone and was not an overwhelming flavor. The portion for the poke bowl was smaller than I thought. At first, I wondered if I would still be hungry after the meal, but I was satisfied and did not feel like I overate at all like how I usually do after eating at a nice restaurant. Edit: The owner of the restaurant privately messaged me and told me that the poke bowl was part of their lunch menu and they offer it as an alternative for people who want lighter options. Their other dishes are much larger, so if you can eat that much, order those!

Find sustainability sexy? Bluewater Grill may be right up your alley! I had a nice evening dinner with a bunch of colleagues, and was impressed with Bluewater Grill. Located at the Tustin Legacy, near AMC, I was looking forward to dining on fresh seafood. Grilled Catalina swordfish- Harpooned right off shore and not netted, the swordfish was cooked to absolute perfection. Tender, flaky, easily cut with a fork. My tastebuds savored all the beneficial fat with each bite. The asparagus & carrots paired well with the fatty fish, and the potato strings gave a nice crunchy texture. Seared yellowfin tuna- Another wonderful dish, the tuna steak was presented on top of spaghetti squash & chanterelle mushrooms. The tuna was more dense than the swordfish, but delicious nevertheless. Blood orange sorbet- What a great palate cleanser! The brightness from the sorbet gave a nice pucker with each spoonful Roasted pineapple cake w/ vanilla ice cream & dehydrated pineapple slice- Sinfully sweet, the pineapple cake was moist and pineapple permeated the senses. The vanilla ice cream was smooth & creamy Service was great. The attendants made sure we were all taken care of. Never was my soda water w/lime empty for more than a few minutes. Plenty of seating by way of booths & tables. Our party was sat in a more private area, where we enjoyed each others company while dining on flavorful food. Parking is available as valet or self park at the Tustin Legacy by AMC. Bluewater Grill is a great restaurant to feast on sustainably caught seafood, most of which wild caught. A great date spot or just as a Happy Hour location, I highly recommend Bluewater Grill for incredibly cooked fish and/or seafood.

The important part is the food. We had ponzu scallops, an Ahi poki tower, the cedar plank salmon, and the seared Ahi. Now, Dave and I both eat a lot of fish, being sushi fanatics. This meal was incredible. The seafood here was on another level. The ponzu scallops were delicate and tangy, chilled in clamshells with a little squeeze of lemon. The poki tasted great, with tuna that wasn’t over-seasoned; it’s an old trick at sushi places to give you older fish that’s heavily spicy to mask the flavor, but this tuna was perfectly fresh. Dave’s seard Ahi was also delicious and minimally seasoned to allow the fish to speak for itself. My cedar plank salmon was light and moist, with that smoky flavor just locked right into the meat. The head chef shared with us that a lot of cedar planks for sale don’t have the fragrant, distinctive qualities that really impart great flavor, so Bluewater has cedar planks specially made just for them. And you can taste it.

I am so thankful to be spoiled by Bluewater grill. They have put on one spectacular dinner. A few months ago I walked past this restaurant thinking that would be a great VIP event. I drove all the way to Temecula to experience this place for the first time at a North SD event. Then I made a wish for the Tustin location and I got in after being waitlisted! Nice. Round 2. Its going down but not like Ronda Rouse. Im yelling timber! My stomach was completely filled with an aquarium full of wonderful seafood. Okay maybe thats a bad way to description consider I have fish. I hope my fish family doesnt read this review. This was a fancy seafood fest and it wasnt your standard red lobster affair. It was fancy. I enjoyed clam chowder, tuna and many many other dishes that were paired with wine. I didnt have a DD but the wine tasting was very generous and I can tell some peeps were a bit tipsy. I was so stuffed but it was worth it.

Very great food. Large variety. I have been here a few times for lunch meetings and for happy hour. I have not once been disappointed. The service is great. The food is great. One thing that stands out is that the waiter who I had a few times, he knows his stuff, knows the menu very well. I have had a few different entrees. The halibut cooked blackened was soooo good! It really stood out. Large beer selection. I have only positive reviews. They have something for everyone here from food selection to prices. I like the finer things, more high-end but they also have entrees in the $15 range. It can get a little crowded depending what time you go but they do a great job at seating you and waiting on you. Great place hands down!!

The only other Bluewater Grill Ive been to is the one in Newport Beach and this location has way better ambiance, service and parking (as in, free). Met up with a bunch of friends for happy hour and we had a good time. I love their $1 drink Yelp check-in deal! Got a pint of 805 for $1, wow. I also ordered the ahi poke and a bowl of their New England clam chowder. The chowder here is truly excellent, but the poke was just so-so--I think they put too much soy sauce on it or something but it wasnt the best. Our server was super-friendly but there were lulls at times so I cant say it was the best service either, but she did seem quite busy. I definitely wouldnt mind coming back for happy hour again.

Came in around 12:30pm on the last day of OC Restaurant Week (Saturday) and was seated very quickly. Ordered the lobster bisque as my appetizer, which tasted really good. For my entree, I ordered the Angus Burger (medium). There wasnt anything special about the burger. The burger was unevenly stacked when it was presented to me and taste was just OK. It wasnt a very solid burger since the patty was fairly thin and the dominating item of the burger was a large and bulky piece of iceberg lettuce.
