Wonderful location, especially when you can enjoy eating outdoors. Pretty good food, a tad on the expensive side. Very disappointed in the presentation of the seafood stew. While tasty in the extreme, it arrived at the table mostly still in the shell. This meant spending lots of time finishing the preparation at the table, shucking clams and cracking the crab, carefully extracting the good stuff, while others enjoyed their meals. Very messy with tomato sauce spattering... So much so, I had to go wash my hands before enjoying my first bite. Some may find this presentation elegant, but at the least they owe customers a warning (photo or words) on the menu just what theyre taking on before they order!

We visited the newly opened Johnnys on May 13, 2014 in the evening. The view was great and the halibut and crab/shrimp salad were excellent. We understand this was the first week of operation, and there are expected start-up issues with any new restaurant. Our dining experience would be significantly improved if attention was paid to the following issues: 1. The wood slatted chairs were quite uncomfortable, Our party of four unanimously agreed that those chairs needed to be replaced or repaired. 2. The restaurant was understaffed and the wait-staff was required to buss all the tables. 3. There was a considerable between our order and our food. 4. The raw oysters were a bit on the milky side.

Average food and excellent service paired with a lovely, true NW location on Thea Foss waterway. The cocktails - a Bloody Mary you can load with goodies and a Kentucky Mule - were very good; our apps, not as much. The calamari has 5 Spice on it which I found dull and salty and pointless. 6 Oysters on the half shell ok... not the highest quality ($11). Chowder was good, flavorful and not too thick ($9 bowl). The best thing was the bread pudding served with a delicious Bananas Foster ice cream. The waiter was so affable and quick, he definitely gave Fish Peddler its 4th star. Give that man a raise!

What can I not say?! All you can eat wings for $10?! What?! But how could you possibly waste an apatite on wings with... AMONG many other items, live dungeness crab, perfectly smoked koho, and the fried local oysters steamer clams were AWSOME! IM A grown man.. yes I cried over the perfection of the clam chowder... i demolished the menu. I didnt get to try the wagu or kobe beef.. but... they didnt miss on anything here. Service 5 stars, food 5 stars, price?!!! Freaking cheap!!! But you would never know. I travel the country eating. I have YET to find quality, value, service like this in 20 years.

Very fresh fish and meat in the restaurant dishes, since they also sell fresh meat and fish raw as they did when it was Johnnys . Tasty dishes very thoughtfully prepared. One of my favorite places to go for seafood! Good steak and burgers too. Great fresh oysters. Awesome meatloaf! Plus they make the BEST fresh made cobbler for dessert. The cobbler takes about 15 minutes to make but trust me, its worth it! Paired with Madagascar Vanilla bean ice cream, absolutely divine!

This use to be "Johnnys Seafood" and sold a "lot" of fresh seafood. Now its mostly an on the waterfront short dinning/drinks with TVs. They still have "some" fresh seafood on hand (& can order items if you have time to wait or have an upcoming event) but kind of limited. I still go here to get items (crab, smoked fish, small clams, scallops & halibut). The salmon dip is really good. There is outdoor seating & table service.

Such a great find for my friend and I. We had lunch here. The place was quiet and the service was great. The wait staff was very attentive, but not annoyingly so. The food was quite delish. We both got fish and chips. The fish was a little greasier than I would prefer, but was still very tasty and definitely fresh. I could have eaten a whole lot more of their pineapple slaw- it was amazing!

Really good food and excellent service! Shelby was my sever and is a delightful, and a happy person who made great suggestions. Will definitely recommend this place to friends and be back to try other items. The fried green beans were super delish with the yummy sauces that came with it. And its on the water so nice to take a walk after! Great location.

This local business was amazing while I was here the staff was very kind and helpful it was nice to see the team work and great communication the bartender travis was great always helping others and still running the bar the servers had great attitudes and tune head chef also helped everyone as needed fantastic atmosphere will be coming back

Normally excellent service but today we came to celebrate my brothers birthday. The service wasnt good & all our orders came out wrong after a long wait ! When we did receive our food, it was good except for no veggies on our plate. Just wasnt the birthday experience I was hoping for ! Maybe next time...

Excellent food at very good prices. It was too bad we couldnt sit outside - but it was the end of January. The Seafood Fettucini Alfredo was outstanding. My friends and I were talking about the food the next day. Not the most intimate place but, if youre looking for great food, it is well worth visiting.

Service was fine, outdoor eating was really nice, food actually came out fairly quickly. However, our appetizer of the manilla clams was very salty, the grill marks on the bread was burnt. And everything else that was ordered tasted fine but it wasnt even warm it was like room temperature cold...

Delicious razor clam chowder. Fried oysters are yummy but cocktail sauce is so sweet. Asked for horseradish to balance the flavor. Seafood pasta full of delicious shrimp salmon and scallops but needs salt and pepper. Lovely outdoor patio on river with heaters. Friendly service and good parking.

Loved eating here! Very nice atmosphere, especially outside. We sat outside in the evening and it was great being on the water and having a great view of Mt. Rainier. Our waiter was really nice, quick, knowledgeable of the menu. The food was amazing, especially the butterscotch bread pudding!

This place has quickly become a favorite for lunch meetings. Staff is always friendly and attentive and the food is great! Check out the halibut and chips for sure! I love that they still have a fish market area, so after lunch, I can also pick up a filet to throw on the grill for dinner!

My family and I visit the peddler on a regular basis for the spectacular food, and we are never disappointed! The steelhead blt is always a go-to, and the new crab Mac and cheese is TO DIE FOR! On the pricey side, but the quality of food (and awesome views on the patio) make it worth it.

The food was fantastic, service was quick and kind. Id love to eat here again, however, the crab cakes were over priced (delicious but over priced for the 2 small cakes) everything else was well with the price and amazing (Fettecini, fish and chips, crab Mac & Cheese, calamari)

I had a business lunch here. Parking was easy and plentiful. The atmosphere is great, we sat on the outside deck on a perfect spring afternoon. The service was friendly and attentive. The Blackened Mahi Tacos were pretty good! A nice addition to the Tacoma waterfront.
