Since Susiun is a relatively small town, I had never considered the possibility that it would possess such an incredible restaurant. The calamari far exceeded my expectations (which is quite an accomplishment, by the way, since I have eaten calamari at many restaurants in Bodega Bay, Santa Cruz, and other coastal towns). Everything else, down to the pita bread, salad, and dark chocolate gelato, matched the quality of the most renowned eateries. The building is rather unassuming, but do not be deceived; it is like a fascinating book contained within a plain cover. Sarah, our waitress, may have been the best server I have ever had. She checked on us regularly, but not too often; she spoke to us with respect and seemed pleased to accommodate our requests; she even offered to stay an extra hour so that we could continue eating and talking. The quality of service in such a small restaurant was remarkable. After that experience, I have to say that Sarah deserves a raise! Im not in Suisun all that often, but I might return just for this restaurant alone. If you have not been here, check it out! If you have been here, check it out again!

Athenian Grill "i have to say if this was my first time i would have said heck no i am not going back. The calamari and fries appetizer had hair in it, The acting manager claimed it was from burlap sack and acted like she could care less"burlap sack on calamari ????" My wife and i split the steak sandwich and her half was pretty much all fat and grease. We have been going there for over a year and i got to say that management now a days is going down the drain. I work for a department store and some times have to do manager duties but i care about it. Then we decided to have desert the chocolate and peanut butter gellato and a piece of baklava and wouldnt you know it they didnt have either one. So we settled for the Bavarian chocolate mint gellato and that was good that is the only reason i gave it a 2 star other wise it would be a one.

I have mixed feelings about the Athenian Grill. I ordered the pastrami sandwich and sweet potato fries. The first issue is the portion size. It was probably a 2 lb sandwich and 1 lb of fries. Thats way too much for one person. It would be nice if it were possible to order a smaller amount. The pastrami sandwich was good. Personally, I thought there was way too much pastrami, but I know everyone has their own opinions. It didnt feel like a sandwich - it felt like I was just eating plain pastrami. The sweet potato fries, on the other hand, were amazing! I would go back again just to get those. Again, Id prefer if I could order something half the size for half the price, but taste-wise, they were top notch. Id go back again with a better understanding of how to order for one person.

Pure deliciousness. Excellent service. Consistently the best place to eat in the Fairfield-Suisun area. Im hooked on their gyros, their lamb souvlaki plate, the dolmades, the lamb stew, the Greek salads, the fried zucchini, their selection of Greek beers, and pretty much everything else on the menu. Outdoor seating is available on their lovely terrace with a view of the boats. The yummy Greek specialties and the overall awesome dining experience are why regulars go back to the Athenian week after week. Highly-recommended !!

If the weather is nice eating outside is quite enjoyable. The waitress, an older lady, was incredibly helpful and even threw in some baklava since it was my first time there. I had the gyro which was full of flavor. It was delicious. They also have some very large onion rings that are equally flavorful with a great batter on them. Like I mentioned above sitting outside offers a view of the docks and is quite nice at sunset. The restaurant isnt the most well kept, and feels a bit run down, but the food was great.

An authentic Greek restaurant with EXCELLENT traditional Greek food, located right on the Suisun waterfront. Fare includes Dolmades, Mezethakia, gyros, lamb, mousaka, pastitso, Tzatziki sauce and a thick pastrami sandwich (at least 3 inches thick). They have tuna salad and other fish (Salmon, swordfish) and fish and chips. The service is great and the owner does many philanthropist things each year. The go to place for authentic Greek food in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento Valley. Highly recommend.

First time to Athenian Grill got a couple Souvlaki gyro wraps. Im not one to complain and will eat anything but these were TERRIBLE. They were plain and soggy. The lamb tasted like rubbery beef and the chicken was just not right. There was nothing in it but meat, way too much sauce, and a few pieces of onion...no greens or tomato? We had one bite and couldnt stomach it. Waste of $20. Good customer service but very disappointed wish I could get my money back...

A great waterfront view, with delightful Greek dining experience. Several in our party raved about the delicious lamb stew over rice. My husband had his local favorite of pastrami...enough for two. I had the Gigante bean stew, and will have to come again when that is on the menu board. Our waitress was efficient and most courteous...easily made us feel like we were family! Definitely will come again!!!

The service was great and Vicki was our waitress, she was awesome! Always right on it with what we needed before we had to ask. The lamb gyro was perfect, tender and savory. Greek salad was amazing. Chicken soup with a hint of lemon was amazing! Portions are huge! Entrees are perfect for sharing on a date with a side and appetizer. Definitely will be coming back!!

Great food, generous portions, friendly service, nice views. Despite a few minor problems (potatoes slightly underdone, spanikopita a little soggy) we had awesome leg of lamb and chicken souvlaki. Great baklava as well (check out Yelp for occasional free baklava offers with a check in).

Gyro plate was definitely good, Greek salad was very good as well. Portions were big and could actually share a meal with a Greek salad. Im coming back for more definitely going to try something different on the menu. Vicki was our waitress, props to her great service..

Very nice Greek restaurant for lunch. I had some very fresh and tasty gyro plate for lunch and it is delicious. The only reason I deducted one star is the service is super slow. It took us one and a half hour to get in and out, which is slow for lunch.

I had the gigantes lunch with the salad. The gigantes were good but not great. Perhaps not enough spices. The salad came with onions which I do not like, perhaps they should ask the customer if onions are OK since a lot of people do not like them.

I like the steak sandwich. The meat is tender enough to actually take a decent bite without pulling half of the meat out of the sandwich. My date loves the lamb dishes. There food is quite plentiful allowing for a munch later if desired. Good food.

Amazing gyros and Greek food. Great hand-cut fries and sweet potato fries. Great baclava. Best Greek food in the region. People have told me their burgers are great too (I cannot imagine ordering anything but the gyro there).
