FYI: This place is full of homophobes. I decided to come to Sonoma for a pleasant time out and I absolutely had one. A lovely day riding bikes and hanging out with friends. This was until we went to La Casa (121 E Spain St, Sonoma CA) Everything seemed fine until the end of our meal when we were told by the manager, Passan, that we were not allowed to be "like that" at their restaurant. I asked what "like that" meant... to which he suggested that we, as two women, were not allowed to be affectionate towards one another in their restaurant. I wanted to make sure that I was clear about what he was saying so I specifically asked if it was something that wouldve been okay with if we were a straight couple, to which he responded that it would. He wasnt shy about his homophobia. At all. Im talking about putting my arm around my girlfriend and giving her a kiss on the lips. Not making out, not anything else. Another employee, Dionicio, took it upon himself to get involved in the situation and further tell me about how there were children in the restaurant and that our behavior was not okay. Just to be clear, this shouldnt be okay ANYWHERE, but we are an hour away from San Francisco... big gay San Francisco. Like, seriously? I urge anyone who stands for equal rights for all human beings to boycott this restaurant and their antiquated, close minded ways.

Morre like "la caca". Crappy, old, dingy food for high prices. I had a really suspicious feeling when my Boyfriend and I orded two complex dishes and they came back to us less than five minutes later. when we looked at our plates it was obvious they sold us food that had been laying around all day long. My boyfriend ordered their enchilada trio and they were TINY, and pretty old/stale for almost $20 bucks! I ordered tacos and the meat (carnitas/carne asade) was chewy, dry, and just plain gross. They put this nasty salad on every dish and the lettuce was clearly brown. Bottom line is "la Caca" (which is what I call it now) has HIGH Sonoma prices without the Sonoma quality. Dont waist your money on their disgusting food.

Had a great family dinner here, the food was scrumptious, the staff was friendly and the ambiance was mellow. I definitely recommend coming her, it has been a downtown Sonoma establishment since the 60s and for good reason. As far as local Mexican food goes its not the most flavorful or exciting but it is well prepared and their portions are sure to satisfy, everyone in our party very much enjoyed their meal and there were no complications.

I was visiting Sonoma from Vancouver, Canada and stumbled across La Casa with my friends on June 20th. This place is a definite must visit. Our bartender, Brenda made the best margaritas, the food was delicious and our server was awesome! Really friendly staff at La Casa. We were disappointed that we didnt have time to stop in for another visit. I will definitely visit again next time Im in the San Fran area.

This place is back to being one of my very favorites. We stopped going here a couple of years ago, but since then it has changed ownership. The new ownership has made the food great, helped the staff be incredible and made it a really fun place to go. They make the best margaritas in the county and have the friendliest, most attentive staff around. Dont miss it!

Casual restaurant with plated Mexican cuisine, good seafood options, and an extensive selection of Tequila. The staff is friendly and the food is pretty good, if not remarkable. This is a good escape from the pricier, upscale places around Sonoma Square, though you can also venture over to Boyes Hot Springs for inexpensive Mexican street food

I love La Casa. Their chips and salsa are fantastic. Their burritos (supremo or bust) and drinks are great as well. The new owners are wonderful and super friendly. The bar patio was dog friendly the last time we went and we sat out there with our dog who pulled out all of the stops to try one of their chips!

11 of us had dinner at La Casa and we were delighted with the attention from the staff. The place is ran by the two owners that cordially welcome you. The food was good without much waiting. This is a place I will come back on my next visit to Sonoma.

Had a excellent experience. The food was not over priced as someone else said - dont know what they are talking about? I thought prices were typical. They do have a patio that I would love to try next time. The steak fajita was perfect.

Pretty delicious and inexpensive Mexican food. If, while in Napa/Sonoma, you spent far too much money on Wine, then this is a good place to save some money on excellent Mexican food. Dont expect high end. Expect low key.

The food tastes adequate, but the portions were pathetic... If you are a street taco person like myself then you expect low cost and decent portions.... Nope... Not here... 12$ for three skimpy tacos... Go elsewhere...

Good value and kids menu. Docking one star because the 4-6 pm happy hour is only weekdays now :( House margaritas are some of the best ritas Ive had.
